Through all these videos I love how collected he is and nice he talks to his employees. Especially when he apologizes for simple mistakes. That’s the kind of person you want to work for and make a stressful job like fast food so much more enjoyable.

Seeing an OWNER work the line with the rest of the crew, watching him pull his weight, not slacking, and being friendly/professional the whole time is inspiring. This is what I wish every owner/manager was like. There is no better way to create a hardworking/fun/happy workplace than seeing the top dog work with the "normal" folks. Props to you for running your Mcdonald's like a restaurant vs a fast food place.
Not to mention your Mcdonald's looks 10000000x more clean than anyone I've been inside of in my life. I would drive an extra 30 min to come to your store and pass 10 other McDonald's on the way.

As someone that worked at McD's in the 90s and has an appreciation for assembly line efficiency I find these videos fascinating, love seeing the changes from 20 years ago. I also feel that those holding cabinets are the reason McD's quality is subpar compared to when items were served fresh off the grills and only stored for 10 minutes after assembly.

I think the reason why is so they can cut back on labor. You only have someone on the grill during the busiest times, and every other time you can just cook a bunch of stuff and fill up the trays. The same person can do both jobs.

simple menu is the only way to serve it fresh and delicious...although somehow cookout has a million menu options and somehow comes close to in n out if you get a burger, fries, and chicken quesadilla + milkshake.
I think another way to add menu items is to have some of them work well when held hot. Like a qusadilla isn't gonna get nasty when held hot, nor will a hot dog. mcdonald's has all these different patties and eggs and specific menu items that require hot holding which is unfortunate.

I worked at macs and burger king. And Yes the guy on a board has to be quick. Hes an assembler. You have to be a good worker to fill that role. Others cook and clean and restock. At BK it was 3 different boards back in the day. Whopper was it own spot then you had spec for deep fried stuff and chicken sandwiches. and then the other side of the whopper board was for all the other sandwiches. But that was in a time where you could get 2 for 2 bucks whoppers!!! so they were insane popular.

There's something so calm about this...Every movement is so controlled and purposeful. I especially like the division of labor...when I worked at McD a loooooong time ago, you'd be between the grill and assembly, and turn back and forth to handle both at the same time. This makes much more sense. Almost makes me miss the work. ;D

I've been managing in IT for a decade now and when hiring I will automatically call someone who worked in fast food while studying when I filter resumes. I don't care if you have no experience in IT, sell me your fast food experience as working in a high-pressure environment fueling on teamwork, and you might land the job. Edit - this applies to the whole restaurant industry, but fast food is more common for younger people.

I love watching people do tiktok lives while working the register. Seeing these POV videos changed the game and now these are for sure my favorite kind 😅 I worked at a McDonalds for a short time and I will say the most common thing I see is the limited space in the back line area for so many people working. Feeling crammed was probably the only thing I hated about it. Not anyones fault of course. I always preferred back cash though so I could be by myself lol
