Thanks for the shout-out! Yours looked great out on the track. I have a video comparison of the 2012 and the 2024 sand master. They have a couple of minor differences. I am having so much fun with this 139.00 kit .
No problem! You have definitely tested it well so far LOL! I have not seen the comparison yet, I will have to find that one this morning and check it out! It is a good little kit for $140, kind of makes you wonder what all the others are so much more expensive!
Thanks for the shoutout Addam.😊 I've run about 20 packs through mine so far and I'm loving it. Had the chance to briefly run it on the beach today (though I only had my phone with me, so the footage isn't great. It did pretty well in the sand.) Couple of things. The rear shocks do need some thicker oil. And while you've got them apart, it's a good idea to put a little spacer in them to limit the down travel. The driveshafts at the rear run at a really acute angle and tend to catch a little. I lowered mine with a 3mm spacer and it helped. I'd recommend a hard spacer - I tried an o-ring but noticed that it covered the piston holes and restricted oil flow too much. I changed out the stock 27T pinion gear for a steel 26T mounted in the 27T holes and the backlash is much better. Perhaps a little on the loose side, but before it was way too tight. I also packed the diff full of grease in an effort to reduce the noise. It helped, but to be honest just running it more and more seemed to quieten the gearbox down. Oh, and that battery door is a real PITA! 😅 Dirt, grit and sand constantly gets trapped in the mechanism. Aside from that, it's a great buggy for the price and I'm really enjoying running mine. 👍
I am glad you got one and showed it off, I had no idea these were a thing until I saw your video! They are not great at marketing at Kyosho, they just release something and not say anything about it! LOL! I am going to be tinkering with it today to try and get it a bit quieter and not sound like years of neglect and abuse packaged up in a brand new kit LOL!! Thanks for the videos and the tips on getting it right. I do have some plastic 3mm spacers I can use in the shocks. So far the battery door works just fine but it has only had the one battery through it. It was a fun one to drive and for the budget friendly price you cannot beat it. Just some tweaks to make it better! Take care David and have a wonderful weekend!
Nice Addam im still watching thanks for the mention i had mine out to the beach today with Paddles its a blast kyosho replied really quickly sending new gears im did find what i rhink is a good upgrade spur ill let you know when it arrives i do like the radio a lot
I am sure it was fun out on the sand! Hopefully it lived up to its name, I am sure with the brushless power it did! The radio feel really nice and so much better than my first impression of it. I can see them using that one more and more in their RTRs.
Thanks for the detailed review. This makes me think what a good job Arrma did getting the Gorgon down to $140 because it seems like Kyosho actually had to cut more corners with this one.
YEs! Mark from RCU in the shed channel mentioned the Gorgon as well. You are very right as it is about the same price but is problem free out of the box. I think they would have been much better off fixing the gearing and raising the price by a few mucks o cover that and it would have been a better release for them. It is very odd for Kyosho to release anything with obvious flaws in it, I am hoping this is not going to continue, if it does they are going to really be shooting themselves in the foot in the long run for short term profits!
Hey Addam, definitely a cool looking buggy and like you I didn’t know it existed until David’s videos. It’s odd that some areas passed Kyosho’s quality control but I’d still buy one!
Yeah, it just seemed to pop up out of nowhere without any hype or notification! I am not sure why they chose to ship them being so very noisy, normally Kyosho prides themselves with perfect fit and finish on their kits and never lack attention to details. This was very uncommon for them. I think if they had fixed the spur gear, put in a metal pinion and added different oil in the rear shock they could have raised the price by $10 and covered their costs and still had a terrific deal on a new RTR kit. Now they have a good looking kit with potential after some tweaks and fixes for $140. I think the better version would have done a lot better, it would also have helped if there was any sort of release notice or hype around it. I am always confused with the tactics of the Japanese manufacturers, constant head scratching as to their choses!! LOL! Take care Owen and have a great weekend!
Cheers for the reply mate. I agree and cross fingers they sort those quality issues in the future but with a little know how they are fixable now which is a good thing thanks to you and David. My thoughts are that maybe the RTR stuff could be ran by a different department?! Yes both Tamiya and Kyosho are known to do ‘odd choices’ lol, maybe it’s just a cultural difference thing! You have a great weekend too Addam 😎
Hi Addam, that is a great looking Sand Master glad to hear you talk about the good and the bad and then take it out on the track and then see it rip in the yard. It did very well on the track and the jumps were very good, seemed to landed with come control. It handled the yard like a champ and to me it didn't seem to bounce that bad. This will be a great starter for anyone getting into the hobby and are looking at the Kyosho Line up. As always great unboxing and first run. Take care and best wishes to you and the family.
Thanks Al! It was a fun run and it did really well around the track. I got some work done on it and it is quieter than it was and I thickened up the oil in the rear shocks. I will see what it drives like and should sound a bit better too out there! Overall it did really well and I am happy i got it. It definitely has potential!! Take care and I will talk to you soon!
Cool looking buggy loved your description of it good way to get into the hobby for not a ton of money liked how you had some suggestions of how to fix the cons so many people bash stuff and try to compare cars that are not even in the same class and that thing ripped on the track thanks for sharing
It is a great deal on them and worth getting one and fixing the issues with it. I think it would have benefited them a lot to have addressed those shortcomings and just raised the price by $10, they would have gotten much better reviews and probably sold a lot better overall. It would have also helped to have some sort of marketing for them prior to release to let folks know they were coming, I had no idea they were out! It is a good running buggy and has a lot of potential!
I mentioned this on David's video too; I had the same problem with a spur gear on my Element Gatekeeper. The spur had malformed teeth and it wobbling around. If companies/suppliers cannot make plastic/composite gears with proper tolerances, don't freaking make them. Still, I am tempted to get a Sand Master once they arrive in Canada...tempted.
Yeah, that is bad that it is common a problem. I don't get why they would release them like this, it is not like Kyosho to let stuff go out the door with obvious issues. I worked on it today and got it quieted down some. I got it to where the spur gear is not making a noise like a bad gear. It is still a rather loud transmission as the internal gears are massively chunky and metal so they are always going to be noisier than most. I did order the old gear for the last release of it so hopefully it is not all wonky.
I remember the original Sandmasters. There was a buggy and an st and they both came in electric or nitro. My buddy got the Nitro ST as his first hobby grade RC and I built and painted it for him. Had some good times racing him with my RC10GT. That was one of the only times one of my close friends had a hobby grader RC I could race against. Good times.
I just remembered, his truck kit was missing the shocks when we got it, I had to call Tower Hobbies on the phone and they sent out a set of shocks. This was pre-internet days. IIRC that was a partially built kit. It wasn't a complete assembly kit but wasn't RTR out of the box. It was like 80% built out of the box.
Hey there Riff! It is a cool little buggy and it has a very good price tag on it. It does have a few minor issues with it but overall it is a terrific deal and it ran great! No complaints there at all. I am doing good, busy as always. I hope you are doing well my friend. Take care and have a great weekend brother.
That last jump looked excellent. I’ve watched a few of the videos as well and enjoyed their runs. Joe was having a blast blowing off a body panel and I think it was Brent that dropped the battery door during a run. Great perspective and information. I’d have to compare the costs to “fix” the known issues to make it a good runner and compare it to something like the BBX. It looks awesome. Maybe a camera angle catching the full throttle as you exit the corner and head down the long straightaway? Might get pelted with sand but makes me think it’d be a great angle. Have a great weekend.
Glad you enjoyed it Trey, it was a blast to drive and I did work on it yesterday and got the spur gear a lot quieter and got the shocks slowed down in the rear. The internal gear are metal with very large teeth, almost industrial looking, so it is louder be default with those in it. From what I am hearing the old ones were the same design, just plastic and they had breakage issues with them. I think there won't be any issues with breakage on these but they are louder than normal for sure! The fixes were free as i used left over shock oil from a previous build so I am still in it for just the $140 so a really good price for it still. Even if you replaced the spur and the shock oil you may add $20 to the price. I may try a different angle to the jump and use the other big corner in the next run video to try it out, thank for the tip! Take care and have a great weekend!!
Nice Buggy looks awesome ran well on the track I can understand your frustration upgrades are one thing personal choice and preference but selling us known issues is a bit steep not only will you have to upgrade you have to fix a brand new car for similar money the gorgon is a great example and comparison a few extra dollars it's amazing from the get go great video mate have a great weekend Addam 👊
That is very true Mark, the only difference in price between the two of them is the battery and charger. The $30 difference is nothing especially since the Gorgon comes with the battery and charger so there is nothing else to buy right away. I think these will be scarfed up by the old guys like me for the retro appearance and nostalgia. I am sure they will get sold to new comers as well but I hope they resolve the gear issue before too many are sold. It was a poor oversight by them to ship these out as bad sounding as they are!
One you got in a rhythm the car performed well on the track. It's amazing that they would go with that kind of pinion set up. The gear noise was extremely loud. This is a very good review.
Thank Michael! It ran really well out there and it was fun! I worked on it today and got it quieted down some. I got it to where the spur gear is not making a noise like a bad gear. It is still a rather loud transmission as the internal gears are massively chunky and metal so they are always going to be noisier than most. I will get a second look at as soon as can, fighting the rain at the moment!
Thanks for showing and explaining all the details. Looks like Kyosho tried to make a big win by putting their stickers on a cheap Cinese car. I always was on their side in comparison to the big T. Hoping that this was just a test. I'm really dissapointed and not a fan of it. But I have admit it looks good on the run Have a great weekend my friend
I think if they have invested another $5-10 in the kit to address the issues it has then it would have been a tremendous hit. With the noisy gears and the other minor issues I think a lot of folks are going to skip it and wait for something better to come along. It also did not help them they did not seems to make any sort of announcements about this as I was completely unaware of it coming at all. It is astill a decent buggy and some tweaks should get it all squared away and running better and more quietly so overall still a good deal. Take care Dirk and have a great weekend!
It is a slick looking little buggy. Some issues with it but I think I can get them all resolved for little to nothing spent other than time. For $140 it is great deal and if they had fixed the gear issue it would have been an amazing release from them. That gnarly sounding gear box is a big issue and going to be a turn off for a lot of folks I think. Take Keith and as soon as I get wrapped up with comments I will be heading over to see what you have out today!!!
Awesome video Addam! I didn't think the gear noise was too bad but it probably sounds much worse in person. I suggested to Brent at Adventure Time to put some paddle tires on it and take it to the beach since it's called the Sand Master!
it sounds pretty horrible in person, it really sounds like an old car with really worn out gears! I cleaned up the spur gear and that got rid of about half the sounds, the rest is unavoidable. They replace the internal plastic gears that I have heard hard problems and put in metal ones. The teeth on them are very chunky, almost like industrial gears! So those are making a good bit of noise in there. I think for the price it is a great deal and a fun runner, it just needs a little attention when you get it. If I had paddles tires and a beach it would be a great time I am sure! David at Kai City RC took his out on the black sand beaches over in Japan for a rip, it looked cool!
Hey there Addam! I Saw This On Joe v.s. Rc and Brents Channel and My reaction was the same as Yours! I was Like, "How'd I miss this?" I hadn't heard anything about these. I gotta say though that I like what I am seeing so far minus the few minor discrepancies you found. Its a very good looking Rc for $140! I am not a yellow fan either, but one of my favorite Rc's that I own is yellow. LoL! I was certainly impressed with the 10:47 best time you got around your track. I think once you got used to it times were getting better and better. loved it out in your yard, it just seems to be a really fun rig. What more can we ask @ $140? Well the only thing I can really see is a properly mounted metal pinion, but thats really about it. Very good review and Shakedown on this Addam! I hope you have a great week end!
Thank Robby, it is a pretty cool buggy and for the price it is great! The poorly molded spur gear was causing about half it and was the kind of clicking noise you could hear while running. I did work on it yesterday and got the spur gear a lot quieter and got the shocks slowed down in the rear. The internal gears are metal with very large teeth, almost industrial looking, so it is louder be default with those in it. From what I am hearing the old ones were the same design, just plastic, and they had breakage issues with them. I think there won't be any issues with breakage on these but they are louder than normal for sure! I don't really understand them not redesigning the gears to have more teeth and make it run a lot quieter but it is what it is and is a lot less annoying than it was before I worked on it. All in all it was free repairs so I am still only into it for the $140 so I am happy with it!
Yeah it kind of came out of nowhere and it is a good running buggy with a lot of potential, I think if they had addressed the issues it has and raised the price by $10 it would have been much bigger release for them. That noisy gearing is going to turn some folk off that are not going to want to deal with fixing it, It did run really well out on the track though and for the $140 price tag it is still a great deal.
I was kind of surprised to see it on David's channel about a week or so ago. I had not idea they were doing it and when I found it was an RTR for only $140 it was kind of a simple decision to get one to try out! It ran really well and other than the very noisy gearing it is nice. I did work on it today and got it a lot quieter, I cleaned up the spur gear and got it quieted down. The internal gears in the transmission are very chunky metal gears and those are just going to be noisy no matter what. They look bullet-proof but are as noisy as a tank drivetrain! It should still sound a lot better out there next time!
Hey Addam, I am surprised to hear you say that a new RC caught you off guard, but you have been pretty busy with builds and video's. It's nice to hear you give credit to other channels that have viewed the new Kyosho Sand Master 2.0. Like you said it's great for beginners that are looking at picking up a Kyosho. I think it did pretty good on the track and it took those jumps pretty well, it was a monster on the grass. The spur and pinion gear sounds like its about to explode, but I am sure you will fix that once you get a chance. Take care and best wishes to you and the family.
LOL! I am usually more up to date on the new releases but they just kind of slid this one in out of nowhere and without any marketing at all it seems. It seems like an upgraded version of the previous and it is a great kit for a newcomer to the hobby. Sadly the poorly molded spur gear is an item that they should have addressed before releasing them but none of them are ever perfect. The internal gears are noisy by default as the are chunky toothed metal gears but that spur really made it sound like a very worn out and beaten set of gears! I did quiet that down so it is at an acceptable level of noisy now! LOL! It ran really well and seems pretty tough so I am still going to say it is a winner overall and for the $140 price tag it is a good deal! Take care my friend and best wishes to you and yours!
It is a fun runner, just sounds pretty rough running around! Check out David's video (Kai City RC) on his progress with addressing some of the issues. I think he found an alterative spur gear you may be able to grab while you are there. You will have fun with it, it does drive well!
I'd probably go with a steel pinion on this simply for durability & probably order a spare spurgear or two. Thicker shock oil, maybe a bit stiffer rear springs too. And the battery door thing was an issue on the original as well back in 2012 i believe. Looks wise I'd paint the yellow rollcage like a dark grey, some small roofbar lights, and maybe short course truck wheels & tires actually to lift it up a bit more which i think the Axxe buggy uses actually. You wouldn't happen to have the retro styled kyosho dirt master ? I don't know for sure but it looks to me kind of like that 76t spur would fit directly on the dirt master, like clutch pads & all that.
I know there is an alternative spur you can put on it. You are limited though as the spur has the molded hex in it for the input shaft. I am sure something else could be retro fitted in there possible. I have not cracked it open yet to see how much space is in there. If it was going to run a bunch then a steel pinion would be best but for as much as I will end up driving it the aftermarket aluminum one will do just fine. The rear shock seem to have much higher flow pistons in the shocks so I am hoping some thicker oil will settle the rear end down and take the bounce out of it. There is still plenty of pre-load room on the springs, I just need to slow down the action a bit. I do think there is a grey roll cage for this available, I quickly went to see what parts were available for it and saw one listed. I do have the Dirt Master, it may be worth checking out if all that would swap over. It is quite possible, good idea on that!!
Hi Adam the kyosho outlaw rampage pro you can upgrade the spur gear to a team associated gear I don't remember the number on it but I bet it will be a good upgrade for the sandmaster
Interesting, I will have to take a look. David found another spur for his but I have not looked for it yet. He lives in Japan so parts for him are much easier to get most of the times!
@@AddamsPlayground Addam, the spur for the original Sand Master part #EZ011 will work fine and is cheaper than part #EZ211 for the 2.0. Parts are just becoming available for the new release here.
Yeah, overall it is a cool kit and a great price! The poorly molded spur gear was causing about half of it and was the kind of clicking noise you could hear when it was running. I did work on it yesterday and got the spur gear a lot quieter and got the shocks slowed down in the rear. very nice car! a kyosho classic! I'm happy because recently Kyosho re-launched the axxe 2.0 which is identically the same chassis as this car but with slightly larger but not as wide wheels, I'm definitely looking forward to having it, plus the exterior design looks more modern than its brother the sand master greetings teacher
Yes, I have seen them and they look pretty cool. I may pick one up after the holidays but the list of stuff to get is so long! LOL! It is cool they are re-releasing some of the less expensive kits finally!
Nice review. Tweaks should help. Gearing sounds like when we would attach playing cards or a plastic square to our bike wheels way back in the day lol :)
Thanks! It ran really well and it was a fun drive. That noise though! I worked on it today and it is quieter but it is always going to be louder than most. The internal gear in the transmission are metal and very chunky! So it is always going to have a chattery, loud noise to it. I did get rid of almost all the clicky, card in the spokes noise though, that was the spur gear.
I am so tempted to pick one up, but knowing me i would start "Fixing It" and spending so much that i would think to myself...why didn't i just buy a Scorpion or Tomahawk? It is very good for the price and as an entry level Kyosho...i do like that, we need to get more young people into RC, and something like this helps. I would definitely make that cage black like the old one, and fix that gearbox. I'm suprised Kyosho was ok with it leaving the factory like that.
It is a cool looking buggy and it ran very well for being a barebones buggy. The noisy and poorly molded spur gear is pretty bad QC on their part and is not normal for them, even in the more budget lines of kits. I worked on it today and got it quieter but the internal gears are metal and are very chunky so it is always going to be noisier than most. I think it is pretty cool and now I have gotten the few tweaks done I will get it back once the track dries up a little.
Thanks! I have always loved that logo and finally after many years ended up getting one. I got it from Redbubble and if you search for Nostalgia RC on there it should come up along with a lot of other cool shirts he has on there!
They do look nice Addam, I had the original Ver 1 of this I have some videos of it. The Ver 2 looks like they improved the gearbox and also inc oil shocks now.
It does seem they changed some of it but I think a lot remained the same. It is shame they released it with the terrible sounding gearing as that may cause them a lot of complaints and returns possibly. It would have been better for them to have fixed it before and just raised the price a tiny bit to cover fixing it and it would have been a much more praised release! I hope to tryin and quiet it down some but may have to preplace some parts to do so which is kind of silly in a brand new buggy!
Yes I was shocked they still used the plastic press on pinion gear..why bother updating the other stuff and not use a normal pinion gear is beyond me!! Try some toothpaste or grease with some baking soda in it and hold the car off the ground and put some on the spur and pinion and run it for a while and a d some more and do it for a bit and that may make it run smoother... if using toothpaste you probably will have to ad a dab of water on the gears when it starts drying out.@@AddamsPlayground
@@ShenRC I had to get a bit more aggressive than that! I did get it to quiet down and now the spur gear doesn't sound bad. The internal gears are all big chunky metal gears and even with additional grease they are still pretty loud but it is a lot better. It doesn't sound worn out and janky now! LOL!
It is a slick looking buggy and it runs really well. I worked on it today and got the shocks settled down some and the gears a lot quieter. They are still noisy but not yelling at me like they were! LOL!
@@AddamsPlayground I find it’s a little grabby right. I got a video coming out addressing this problem. I’ll probably mention your experience too if that’s cool?
@@LukesVintageRC In the dirt is did very well but in the yard it did have a tendency to grab and roll over. Feel free to mention anything in your video, I am an open book! Take care!
Yeah, Kyosho gets a solid D- grade for their marketing and announces of new products! I guess they are relying on word of mouth for it all, which can be dangerous especially when the gear box sounds like it 40 years old and has never been maintained LOL!! Other than the noisy gears and the rear shock need thicker oil it is a great deal and still worth it even though you di have to address a couple things.
People wouldn't have minded paying another 5-10 bucks on it to have a good spur gear and pinion. Would have been less potential complaints for Kyosho to deal with too. Nice overview Addam. Cheers
I totally agree! The headaches this must be causing them and additional costs has to be more than what it would have cost to fix it in the first place. I know this is their lower line of kits but I did not expect something so sloppy to be coming from Kyosho. Their legendary kits are top notch but they really dropped the ball on the spur gear thing.
great contribution! It's a great buggy! In reality, it hasn't changed anything with respect to the sandmaster, I have an axxe (ez series) and a year ago it was very difficult to find transmission parts, in particular a pair of gears that connect to the differential...which is why many users of the ez series stopped using their ez series (axxe, nexxt, monster tracker and monster tracker 2.0) (otherwise with the spur gear and differential that can be easily found on ebay...personally it is a great car for the price and being rtr I can't demand much, but it is very true that it is too noisy and that noise can be very annoying! thank you for the very detailed review! greetings (we hope this time Kyosho does not neglect the spare parts part, which is the weak side of the brand) compared to Tamiya (it is much easier to find car parts and there are multiple groups on Facebook where everyone helps each other
Well the good news for this one is the gears in the transmission are metal now. I did work on it today and was able to get the spur gear quieted down but with the big chunky metal gear in the transmission is it louder than more still. At least now it doesn't sounds like it is partially broken! I did order one of the spur gears off of eBay before I started messing with the one it just in case things went south LOL! Kyosho seems to struggle with stock in general, but in this case I think they need to really try and keep stock on hand for entry level kits. There are already tons of aftermarket parts for the legendary series kits but people will struggle to find replacements for kits like this if things break. Glad you enjoyed the video and I will have a follow up on it soon.
Thanks Mark! It looks good and ran well, I definitely had fun with it out there! I worked on it today and got it quieted down some. I got it to where the spur gear is not making a noise like a bad gear. It is still a rather loud transmission as the internal gears are massively chunky and metal so they are always going to be noisier than most.
It is a pretty cool machine and other than the noisy gearing it ran super well! I worked on it some today and the shocks are better and the gearing is a lot les noisy, still loud but nowhere near as loud.
Awesome Video review! Great Addam! I agree with you the gear issue must be addressed it's just unacceptable to get a new product like that...however I just got mine as well....I guess the reason I got it after all the video reviews and the problems etc..I am a thinkering freak so who cares I will try to modify to my likings...Wanted to ask you if you can also put your head into it and see a good way to put a rear tire on the cage?
Thanks! I worked on it today and got it quieted down some. I got it to where the spur gear is not making a noise like a bad gear. It is still a rather loud transmission as the internal gears are massively chunky and metal so they are always going to be noisier than most. I stuck some thicker oil in the rears and it seems to have helped to not be as fast and bouncy, slower action now. I will have to take a look at what can be done to mount a spare tire back there, I am not sure any of my spare bits will work or not, the cage is pretty chunky!
@@AddamsPlayground Addam which metal gear diff oil did you end up putting in? And what weight oil you think you will be using for the rear shocks? Thank you
@@ioskaioska5166 The diff was fine, I did not add any more to that. In the gear box I just used a generic marine grease as it had some in there but not a lot, I gobbed a bunch in there, not packed full but enough to make sure it was going to be moving around in there and constantly on the gears. In the rear shocks I just used some Tamiya clear "hard" shock oil which is 900cst. I thought it may be too much but it is not!
I have this ez series cart! And after 13 races with lipo and stock motor, the spur gear teeth have been damaged... what grease do you recommend putting on the spur gear and the pinion to lubricate? Any metal pinion you recommend for this 2wd? Can they be any sprocket regardless of the teeth? greetings friend! and thank you very much for sharing! wonderful and detailed review!
The spur gears for these are pretty specific as they have the hex connection in the center to mount to the input shaft. The part number you can use for the spur from Kyosho is EZ011 and a 48 pitch pinion can be used with it. I cannot recall the tooth count of the stock gear but any steel or aluminum pinion with an 1/8th in (3.175mm) center motor shaft hole. As for grease any tacky type will be the best to keep it from flinging off. In general it is not needed.
@@michaelfear4801 yeah, those got messed up on the first run! I knew they would so no big deal. It would have probably been best to just leave them off.
It is a pretty sharp looking buggy and it ran pretty well. I worked on it today and got it quieted down some. Still a bit noisier than many but a lot better than it was!
Hi Addam, that's a cool little buggy especially at that price point. But as always (well, usually!) you get what you pay for. That issue with the battery door on the handset and the state of the rear shocks is out of order though, I've had $80 RTR's that are better than that! And a press on plastic pinion! 😅😅 Anyways, a great overview and good info for anyone looking to buy one of these. I was impressed by the laps it put in, showing some good potential with a bit of tweaking! The noise from the gearbox though! That big slomo jump at the end was cooooool!!!! 😎😎👍👍
It is definitely a lower end kit from them and I am kind of surprised at the quality difference in them. Their legendary kits are flawless and this was definitely not. Now there is quite the price difference there but I still did not expect the flawed spur gear to be a common problem. One or two kits maybe but so far they have all be wonky. I worked on it and got it quieted down some. I got it to where the spur gear is not making a noise like a bad gear. It is still a rather loud transmission as the internal gears are massively chunky and metal so they are always going to be noisier than most. I put in some much thicker shock oil in hopes to slow the shock down some, I will see how it does with that and go from there. For the price it is really fun buggy and does have potential. I don't think I would not pay much more for it though. It did run well out there and it was fun so worth it for that!
Right!? Their market team is a little too stealthy! It was a fun one to run and it is a good looking buggy. It is a noisy beast! I worked on it today and got it quieted down some. I got it to where the spur gear is not making a noise like a bad gear. It is still a rather loud transmission as the internal gears are massively chunky and metal so they are always going to be noisier than most.
A plastic pinion, lol. It seems to be a neat buggy. The spurr noise would drive me nuts. Good thing about it, it's cheap enough to put a little money in it. I do like it.
Yeah, plastic pinions should be illegal on 540 motors! I think if they had addressed the few simple to fix issues with it then raised the price by $10 to over those costs then it would be a big seller for them. Now with the issues and the lack of hype around it it may end up falling a bit flat for them. It is a great running buggy and has a lot of potential but sounds like it has a worn out drive train in a brand new kit! Still for the $140 there is room to be able to fix it all yourself and still not have spent a ton!
G'day mate!😀. You are the King of sound effects🏆🙆♀️😁we laughed so hard at your bouncy suspension sound etc and even tried to replicate it with no hope🤣👌thanks for the smiles and laughs mate!. Thanks for the honest opinion on the buggy, great unboxing Addam👍. We were really impressed by how well it took to the track and your paddock even though the rear end is bouncy and great track times too. Looks like it has more potential with you tweaking it a bit. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and video mate👍. We hope you're having a nice weekend🙋♀️🤠🦘🇦🇺
LOL! I am glad you got some laughs out of the sound effects, I don't even realize I do them anymore, they just happen! Overall I think it is a really good buggy with some potential, they just failed pretty well with releasing them wit the horrible gear noise in there. It sounds like years of neglect and abuse packaged up in a brand new kit LOL!! Once I get the gearing quieted down and the shock oil swapped in the rear I will get it back out and see how much better it is. It really did drive well out there and I think it can be a bit better with som tweak. Still at the low price point in comes in at is a great deal. It would have been a tremendous one for $10 more and they fixed the inherent issues with it though! Take care guys and have a wonderful weekend!
@@AddamsPlayground Thanks mate we had a nice weekend👌. Yeh your sound effects are brilliant and we always get a smile so please keep them up 😁. What a shame they didn't make the effort to put a quality gear in it for sure, it should be a good project modifying it. Sorry for my delayed reply my friend, always thinking of you and your video's but struggling a bit keeping up atm and my girl is the same. Thanks for everything legend👊
On some cars yellow is fine, this one the full yellow does not look bad at all but I was glad I could get one with red and purple as it just has a bit more visual character. It definitely has the classic Kyosho buggy DNA in there and ran very well. It is a good looking thing and the price is wonderful!
Well? It does have a bit of noise to it for sure. Not sure about the Whole Transmission thing is a bit of a head scratcher for sure. What I do like is that hefty cage around it. Now it did seem a little squirley going around the track. It was SO much, that I am thinking it is NOT all driver error. lol So maybe a little tightening up on the steering assembly. lol Nice over view bud. Have a great week.
Hey there Nick! It is a noisy little bugger but I did get some of it knocked out by cleaning up the spur gear. It is poorly molded and getting it cleaned up helped. The rest is just going to be there. The internal gears are so chunky and made of metal they are just going to chatter and make more noise than most of us are used to. Kind of like the big metal gears on the bashers. It did really well on the drive and it did get out of shape a few time. It would hit a lump and kick the rear end out and then I was having to correct for it. Part of it is the bouncy rear, part the rough spots on the track and part driver. Still managed to squeeze out a 10.47 on a budget entry level kit so I can't argue with that. I did thicken up the oil in shocks but have not had time to run it again to see if that helped or not. I will get it back out for a rip soon and see how it does.
I am 99% sure I am running the kit supplied oil in mine and it runs great. In most of the kits the Tamiya yellow work well, in others I go down t 20wt or even 15wt to take the slowness out of the travel. I am pretty sure this is one the kit supplied oil works fine for it.
Last Can't wait to watch this That pinion gear sounds horrendous I wonder if it's messing up the spur gear are you going to put a regular pinion gear on it in another video I know you talked about cleaning up the pinion gear I wouldn't even mess with that
It is actually the big spur gear that is poorly molded. The pinion gear seems fine other than the fact it is made of plastic! The spur gear is pretty unique as it has an odd hex in the middle that keys it to the input shaft. I think some work with the hobby knife and a new pinion gear may quite it down so. If I can cut it in half it will be worth it.
Yeah it is a very loud gear box. The poorly molded spur gear was causing about have it and was the kind of slicking noise.
@@AddamsPlayground I do think the price is right. It looks like it will need some work to get it running right. However, that is true with many cars on the market today. Thoughts?
Car looks good. Worked well with the track. One question I tried looking many times but could not tell. Does the remote have a old school metal antenna? Kinda looked like it did. Thanks for the review.
It is pretty sharp looking and it ran really well. For a entry level kit it is a good deal. No antenna on the radio, it is a modern 2.4ghz radio. I worked on it today and did get it a quieter than it was, it is never going to be a silent one, the interior gears are very chunky and metal are always going to be loud.
I am sure they will be making their way into other markets soon. It is definitely one they are not making a big fuss about, Kyosho is very weird about their marketing and production of stuff so who knows!! I hope you are able to score one soon! If not let me know and I may be able to help out getting you one.
I looks good and ran very well but it is a noisy thing! I worked on it today and got it quieted down some. I got it to where the spur gear is not making a noise like a bad gear. It is still a rather loud transmission as the internal gears are massively chunky and metal so they are always going to be noisier than most. I don't think I will ever be able to break an internal gear though!!
I was looking for a Dirt Master the other day. They seem sold out many places now. The Sand Master seems like a lower performance and perhaps more bashable alternative?
Yeah a much more beginner kit then the Dirt Master. The DM is a much more refined in the fit, finish and parts. That said the Sand Master is a good looking and seemingly tough little buggy that is ready to right out of the box and is going to be half or well under half the price of the DM once you add electronics to the DM price. Other than the noise gearing it is a great little buggy with some potential.
I was impressed with it's performance, equal to, or better than more expensive buggies. They are available in the UK for around £140, I'm tempted. Regards Paul.
Yeah it ran really well, a bit slower than a lot of the cars but being an entry level buggy that is perfectly fine. It ran and jumped very well and it was fun. that horrible sound gearing though... It sounds like years of neglect and abuse packaged up in a brand new kit LOL!! At least it is a cheap RTR and the fixes to the issues are not going to break the bank so it is still a good deal. I think if they had addressed these issues and raised the price by $10 to cover the costs it would have been a much better release for them!
It is, I was just surprised there was not more hype and marketing around it. They just kind of made it and didn't seem to tell anyone! LOL! For the price it is a great little buggy, a few quirks but overall a terrific deal!
@@AddamsPlaygroundI couldn't even see it looking "ok" on a shelf queen! Maybe, like MAYBE, it could pass if the stickers had like, a clear backing, so you put it on, and pull off the clear part so it leaves just the white letters sort of deal.
I had it for about a week now. I got it run last weekend. Worked on it today and it is quieter and the shocks settled down some. I have to wait for it to dry out some before I go back out and run it again.
A great value little buggy mate! I've been watching Joe bash the living daylights out of his for a few videos now.... looks like a lot of fun for very little money. Posted some great lap times for what it is.... but boy is that sound gnarly! That's hard on the ears mate. A lot of the Kyosho ready to runs are a tad on the loud side, when I first got my Fazer I actually took the diff apart after the first run as I thought the mesh was off as it was making such a loud noise.... turned out that it's just a noisy design! All in all, you really can't complain for that price though! 👍 👍 👍
It looks pretty cool and it ran really well. It is a noisy little thing though. I did work on it yesterday and got the spur gear a lot quieter and got the shocks slowed down in the rear. The internal gears are metal with very large teeth, almost industrial looking, so it is louder be default with those in it. From what I am hearing the old ones were the same design, just plastic and they had breakage issues with them. I think there won't be any issues with breakage on these but they are louder than normal for sure! So aside from the chattering internal gears it is a lot better and I cannot be mad at it for the very cheap price! I mean I have seen ones in toys stores at this price point so I am not going to complain about it, It is much nicer now that the spur does not sound like it is a broken car! Take care James!
Thank you! Yes, the collection keeps growing and growing! One of these days I will have to slow it down as I will run out of room. More than likely I will just find more room LOL!!
Yikes!😬 That sound reminds me of putting playing cards in my bicycle wheels as a kid!🤣 I understand Kyosho trying to save some money while releasing a budget friendly rtr but calling it a 2.0 the only difference I see from version one is the oil shocks. I’ve got the Axxe which is nearly identical right down to the plastic pinion. With all that being said, I’ll probably add one to the fleet down the road at some point; it just looks cool. I’ll have to wait as I just picked up something from the blizzard blowout sale so I won’t be buying for awhile!😂 Great overview and run Addam, and a 10.47 lap is pretty darn good!👍😊
Yeah, I am not sure what there plans for this were. They made no announcements of it and it does seem like a revamp of the previous one but with awful sounding gearing! I am hopeful I can get that noise down with some cleaning up up the spur and a new pinion. We will see. The shocks are a super easy fix but the gear issue should have been addressed before it left there factories. Poor marketing and bad decisions like that may really hurt sales of it. I do still think it is well worth the $140 and it was really fun to drive. I think fixing the rear shocks will help get some of those higher lap times down a bit and I was very happy to see it in the mid tens! Very respectable for this buggy right out of the box! Take care Jeremy have a great weekend!
It is a cool looking little buggy and it ran well. I do like the radio, it seems to work just fine and it is very comfortable. All the basic tunning you need on it and it takes up less space the much chunkier other radios. As for range I did not test it for that but i had no issue. The minor issue with the battery not making a connection was easy to fix by a minor flex of the brass tab in the battery tray.
It is a pretty cool little buggy, it drive really well. It is a noisy little bugger but I did get it quieted down some, it is still a little noisy but that is due to the internal gears. I will have a follow up on it as soon as I can.
At the price point it is still worth it. I think if they had addressed these issues and raised the price by $10 it would have been a much better release for them. Some shock oil, a revised spur gear and a real pinion gear and this would have been an epic release for them. It would also have helped if they had made any effort to promote it or announce it instead of just releasing it and hoping folks would find it! It is still worth picking one up and fixing the issues as for the price it is a good running little buggy with potential!
It is a cool looking little buggy and I think it is plenty tough. Sadly that gear makes it sound terrible and they should have resolved that before shipping all these but they didn't It is a cast plastics but I am guessing either the mold was poorly done or the process was rushed and they came out wonky. Yeah, I can see the comparison of the RadioShack kits, a more modern version of them!
Nice review, nice Trinity T-Shirt and nice sound effects when testing the rear shocks 😊 The sound of the car is not that great 😢 Anyway, it looks very good in these colors 🤩
Thanks! I do like the T-shirt, I never had one growing up, it was white so there was no way my mom was going to buy me a white t-shirt as I would ruin it in a day!! LOL! I did get this one is a grey to help prolong it as some thing s don't really change, I still ruin white shirts almost immediately! The noisy gears is a major oversight by Kyosho sending them out this way. I am sure they are going to get a ton of complaints about these and potentially some returns. It sounds like year of neglect and abuse packaged up in a brand new kit LOL!!
Hey Addam, wow that is a chattering gearbox for sure. Some really good lap times though which surprised me at the price point. I am a huge fan of Kyosho but this one looks a little off the mark for me. I think it will make a fine entry level RTR for people but I would prefer Kyosho give us a Raider 2.0 😉
I am hoping that is what this turns into. This is the first of a lower end release from them and I hope it continues and they start releasing some of their other old kits like the Raider. It would have helped if they did not include the obviously terrible spur gear in it, I know they had to have known this was an issue before they sent them out. It would have also helped if they had let the world know they made these! If it were not for some of the other channels I would not have known anything about these! Marketing 101 is "people have to know you are selling something for them to come to you and try to buy it" LOL!! It is a great little kit for a RTR for $140 so hopefully they fix the gear grinding noise and folks find them and buy more to get them to want to make others!
Hey Addam, it’s a cool looking entry Kyosho for sure, but it’s certainly a noise little blighter ! 😂😊😂 I’m sure with some Addam’s RC Playground magical attention, you’ll have it improved. Like you say, for $140, really is a nice throw back to the Sand Blaster. Seems to handle well around the track though 🤔🧐🤔best wishes my friend to you and the family 😊😊
Thanks John, it ran really well and it was fun but it is a noisy one! I worked on it yesterday and got it quieted down some. I got it to where the spur gear is not making a noise like a bad gear. It is still a rather loud transmission as the internal gears are massively chunky and metal so they are always going to be noisier than most. It is now an acceptable level of noisy and hopefully will make a trip back out on the track again this week to see how it drives with the thicker oil in the rear shocks. For the price it is a good deal and with a small bit of attention it is a lot quieter! Take care my friend and have a great week!
Nice 👌 i think its a great 1st hobby grade buggy for kids. Hopefully kyosho look at the spur/pinion issue ? Its did sound pretty rough when you set off on the track 😂
Yes, it is a perfect first kit and it seems tough, runs well and it is not too fast. The camera I think smoothed out the audio on the bench as it sounds way worse in person, much like it did out on the track. It sounds like year of neglect and abuse packaged up in a brand new kit LOL!!
Nice looking buggy.. saw it on David’s channel.. but shame it has all these small issues from the factory 😢the gearbox when running almost sounds like a small nitro buggy.. it’s like a great buggy is in there just needs some fettling 😊Pete
Yeah it looks great and runs well. That gear noise is pretty bad! If they had fixed that issue, they had to have known about it, then it would have been an excellent beginner RTR. Even a novice in the hobby would think something was wrong with the very noisy gears and wonder if something is wrong! I think I can get it to quite down a bit but I am not sure it will all go away. It ran really well and was fun. It could use a little bit more speed but it would be perfect for a beginner for sure, I had fun with it!
I did some work to it and got the spur gear quieter, the rest of the gear noise is just going to be there. The internal gears are really big tooth metal gears and it it just going to to be noisier than what most of us are used to. It did drive pretty well and it was a lot of fun. I will get it back as soon as I get time to and the track it dry enough. It should sound a lot better nest time.
@@AddamsPlayground Still a really good buggy for the money though, I like the design. As you said we are just not used to them being that loud but I am considering getting one for sure! Great video about it too.
It is that noisy, the spur gear is poorly molded and there is a lot of excess noise from it. The internal gears are metal and have really large teeth on them so that adds to it. I cleaned up the spur and it is still louder than many but it helped out a lot. It is about half as loud now.
Styled like it but nothing like it! It is a cool little buggy for what it is and it was a lot fin running it around. I worked on it today and got it quieted down some. I got it to where the spur gear is not making a noise like a bad gear. It is still a rather loud transmission as the internal gears are massively chunky and metal so they are always going to be noisier than most. It does resemble the old school more plastic kits.
Yeah It sounds like year of neglect and abuse packaged up in a brand new kit LOL!! I am very surprised they shipped them out sounds that bad, normally Kyosho are sticklers for QC and fit and finish. On these they really failed on that spur gear!
No worries, I can see that. Being an entry level kit it is not too far away from it but it definitely has potential. A faster motor and steel pinion and it can really haul. In the stock form it is not terribly fast but much better and way more durable than a toy grade one. I got about half the noise gone by working on the spur gear so it is quieter now. The rest is from the chunky, big toothed internal gears and those are just going to be noisy. It ran great on the track and did well in the yard. It was fun and for the $140 I paid for it I am not mad at it. I have paid a lot more and been much more disappointed in some! I do get it though, take care!
It did pretty well in the sand.)
Couple of things.
I found a gpm gear. I wonder if it's the same one you found
I am sure it was fun out on the sand!
I am sure a couple nitro kits ripping around together was a great time! Glad it took you down memory lane to some good time of the past!
Yeah back when Tower was pretty much the king of RC back in the day!
@@AddamsPlayground For sure!
Hi Addam! That's a really cool buggy brother! Hope you are doing well my friend, great video! 😊 💯🤜🤛
But I have admit it looks good on the run
Have a great weekend my friend
I think if they have invested another $5-10 in the kit to address the issues it has then it would have been a tremendous hit. With the noisy gears and the other minor issues I think a lot of folks are going to skip it and wait for something better to come along. It also did not help them they did not seems to make any sort of announcements about this as I was completely unaware of it coming at all. It is astill a decent buggy and some tweaks should get it all squared away and running better and more quietly so overall still a good deal. Take care Dirk and have a great weekend!
Cool little rig for the money. Thanks for sharing.
@@AddamsPlayground yeah I just watched Brent's video on the beach with paddles, so cool!
Hey there Addam! I Saw This On Joe v.s. Rc and Brents Channel and My reaction was the same as Yours! I was Like, "How'd I miss this?"
I hadn't heard anything about these.
Seeing a whole lot of this kit , looks like fun.
@AddamsPlayground yeah, from want I hear the gear mesh is too tight. Running the odd pinion or modification of the motor mount seems to quite it down.
I saw picture of this one. I didn’t realize it was an RTR. Nice run!
Buying this tomorrow my local Kyosho shop has this in stock thanks for the video as there here in Malaysia ready to go and just 15 minutes away 👍
@@KaiCityRC Thanks David!

Yeah, overall it is a cool kit and a great price! The poorly molded spur gear was causing about half of it and was the kind of clicking noise you could hear when it was running. The internal gears are metal with very large teeth, almost industrial looking, so it is louder be default with those in it. very nice car! a kyosho classic! I'm happy because recently Kyosho re-launched the axxe 2.0 which is identically the same chassis as this car but with slightly larger but not as wide wheels, I'm definitely looking forward to having it, plus the exterior design looks more modern than its brother the sand master

Fantastic shirt!!!
LOL!
cool! they must have made it much better mine had all plastic gears inside.@@AddamsPlayground

It is a slick looking buggy and it runs really well. I worked on it today and got the shocks settled down some and the gears a lot quieter. They are still noisy but not yelling at me like they were! LOL!

Wow didn’t know this was out 😮,I like it and great review
Yeah, Kyosho gets a solid D- grade for their marketing and announces of new products! I guess they are relying on word of mouth for it all, which can be dangerous especially when the gear box sounds like it 40 years old and has never been maintained LOL!! Other than the noisy gears and the rear shock need thicker oil it is a great deal and still worth it even though you di have to address a couple things.
Hey Addam, i love the tube frame chassis on this one
It is a really cool design and looks very scale. Like something you would see actually running in Baja or KOH races!
In reality, it hasn't changed anything with respect to the sandmaster, I have an axxe (ez series) and a year ago it was very difficult to find transmission parts, in particular a pair of gears that connect to the differential...which is why many users of the ez series stopped using their ez series (axxe, nexxt, monster tracker and monster tracker 2.0) (otherwise with the spur gear and differential that can be easily found on ebay...personally it is a great car for the price and being rtr I can't demand much, but it is very true that it is too noisy and that noise can be very annoying! thank you for the very detailed review! greetings
(we hope this time Kyosho does not neglect the spare parts part, which is the weak side of the brand) compared to Tamiya (it is much easier to find car parts and there are multiple groups on Facebook where everyone helps each other
Well the good news for this one is the gears in the transmission are metal now.
@@AddamsPlayground metal gears?? OMG !!!!! Thanks for the input my friend :)
Great video Addam 👌 looks good on the track drivetrain noisy but it's not the end of the world 😊
Thanks Mark! It looks good and ran well, I definitely had fun with it out there! I worked on it today and got it quieted down some. I got it to where the spur gear is not making a noise like a bad gear. It is still a rather loud transmission as the internal gears are massively chunky and metal so they are always going to be noisier than most.
Great machine ✅️
Awesome looking 💙💛
@@AddamsPlayground thx for the input my friend :)

kinda funny the box saying that about the battery, definitely nice looking for that price,
Probably an old layout from the previous version and they didn't update parts of it is my guess. It was a head scratcher at first!
@AddamsPlayground oh I bet lol, the stickers on the tires is kinda dumb, but really for the price lol
@@michaelfear4801 yeah, those got messed up on the first run! I knew they would so no big deal. It would have probably been best to just leave them off.

That's a good looking buggy 👍
I'm with ya dude, not sure how I missed this release, and how the heck is that possible? Haha.
Great video once again, my friend. 😊

LOL! I am glad you got some laughs out of the sound effects, I don't even realize I do them anymore, they just happen! I don't love yellow cars too but this is a blast from the past, it looks like a pre Ultima Kyosho buggy!
On some cars yellow is fine, this one the full yellow does not look bad at all but I was glad I could get one with red and purple as it just has a bit more visual character. It definitely has the classic Kyosho buggy DNA in there and ran very well. It is a good looking thing and the price is wonderful!
Really! Top price.@@AddamsPlayground
What oil do you recommend for my blitzed beetle and monster beetle thatl be building soon? Many thanks another great video
I am 99% sure I am running the kit supplied oil in mine and it runs great. In most of the kits the Tamiya yellow work well, in others I go down t 20wt or even 15wt to take the slowness out of the travel. I am pretty sure this is one the kit supplied oil works fine for it.

Can't wait to watch this
That pinion gear sounds horrendous I wonder if it's messing up the spur gear are you going to put a regular pinion gear on it in another video I know you talked about cleaning up the pinion gear I wouldn't even mess with that
It is actually the big spur gear that is poorly molded. The pinion gear seems fine other than the fact it is made of plastic! The spur gear is pretty unique as it has an odd hex in the middle that keys it to the input shaft. I think some work with the hobby knife and a new pinion gear may quite it down so. If I can cut it in half it will be worth it.
The gears sound terrible in this car. I can hear them in your video. Thoughts?
Yeah it is a very loud gear box. The poorly molded spur gear was causing about have it and was the kind of slicking noise. @@AddamsPlayground I do think the price is right. It looks like it will need some work to get it running right. However, that is true with many cars on the market today. Thoughts?
@@alfredyost7972 true, many have their own quirks.
If i could get my hands on one i would love to add it to my Sandmaster collection :)
I am sure they will be making their way into other markets soon. It is definitely one they are not making a big fuss about, Kyosho is very weird about their marketing and production of stuff so who knows!! I hope you are able to score one soon! If not let me know and I may be able to help out getting you one.

Shame about the gear noise for sure. But the overall balance looked really good on track. Especially for the money. There is fun to be had
Neat little buggy.
It is, I was just surprised there was not more hype and marketing around it. They just kind of made it and didn't seem to tell anyone! LOL! For the price it is a great little buggy, a few quirks but overall a terrific deal!

Noisy gears are always better than broken gears mate! 👍 👍 👍
Nice buggy, you have so many RC cars behind you, lol
Thank you! Yes, the collection keeps growing and growing! One of these days I will have to slow it down as I will run out of room. More than likely I will just find more room LOL!!
@@AddamsPlayground True! Hard to work on many broken RCs hahaha
Yikes!😬
That sound reminds me of putting playing cards in my bicycle wheels as a kid!🤣
I understand Kyosho trying to save some money while releasing a budget friendly rtr but calling it a 2.0 the only difference I see from version one is the oil shocks.
I’ve got the Axxe which is nearly identical right down to the plastic pinion.
With all that being said, I’ll probably add one to the fleet down the road at some point; it just looks cool. I’ll have to wait as I just picked up something from the blizzard blowout sale so I won’t be buying for awhile!😂
Great overview and run Addam, and a 10.47 lap is pretty darn good!👍😊
Yeah, I am not sure what there plans for this were.
Looks nice. I like the look of their new radio. How would you compare it to the previous version?
It is a cool looking little buggy and it ran well. I do like the radio, it seems to work just fine and it is very comfortable. All the basic tunning you need on it and it takes up less space the much chunkier other radios. As for range I did not test it for that but i had no issue. The minor issue with the battery not making a connection was easy to fix by a minor flex of the brass tab in the battery tray.
Sweeeeet dude!!!!
It is a pretty cool little buggy, it drive really well. It is a noisy little bugger but I did get it quieted down some, it is still a little noisy but that is due to the internal gears. I will have a follow up on it as soon as I can.
Even with the flaws I still want one to play with
At the price point it is still worth it.
@@AddamsPlayground Yes I agree
Yeah these are cool for the price. To me it looks like their spur gears are 3D printed. These really remind me of radio shack cars
@@AddamsPlayground I will be keeping an eye on it Addam!
@@AddamsPlayground 😂 yeah, fingers crossed some improvements are made 🤞
Nice looking buggy.. saw it on David’s channel.. but shame it has all these small issues from the factory 😢the gearbox when running almost sounds like a small nitro buggy.. it’s like a great buggy is in there just needs some fettling 😊Pete
Does your a arms pop when driving
No problems yet but I have only had it out the one time so far. I did notice the rear uppers are right there up against the shocks.
@@AddamsPlayground I think
I need to
Add shims
@@kennethmeyers5008 maybe to shift them out of the way. It may help out
I didn't know about this car either Addam! Looks like fun but my gosh does it sound terrible! 🤣
Is it that noisy or is the mesh out sounds rough or is it just me ?
It is that noisy, the spur gear is poorly molded and there is a lot of excess noise from it. The internal gears are metal and have really large teeth on them so that adds to it. I cleaned up the spur and it is still louder than many but it helped out a lot. It is about half as loud now.
Looks like a Radio Shack car.
Yeah, I can see that! It is a retro, entry level kit so it kind of makes sense!
I was number 19 to like this video 💯💪🤷😎👍
Hey buddy, good to see you here! I hope you are doing well and thanks for checking in!!!
Wish I had a $140 for it.
Its no BBX thats for sure. More like a New Bright car.
Those gears sound awful 😣
Yeah It sounds like year of neglect and abuse packaged up in a brand new kit LOL!! I am very surprised they shipped them out sounds that bad, normally Kyosho are sticklers for QC and fit and finish. On these they really failed on that spur gear!
Don't want to be a hater, but looks and sounds toy grade rc😢
