Luckily, once I'd applied Nova, not only did it remember the settings from my previous Samsung phone, but, hey presto, the Search bar was gone. Otherwise, I would've sent the phone back!

@fauzanazzamuddin I don't think you can uninstall the launcher that came with the phon, unless rooted. For example, on Samsung phones, gesture and navigation bar require One UI (Samsung launcher). If you force stop One UI, the gesture will stop working.
Smart Launcher 6? My go to launcher. Incredible error not to included on the list. Just the best. Niagra is great if you don't have many apps. Love the simplicity.
Microsoft launcher is for me. For productivity wise it's as far as I know is the best. The one I really like is its glance page. It is collecting all the documents I recently view on any apps that I opened. Integration with my stick notes on Windows is also useful.

I once remember the best lunchers were from HTC, as the weather changed along with the animated wallpaper, and this ring to unlock the screen. HTC used to make phones beautifully. Now, unfortunately, we know how it is...
Moreover, HTC Sense used to have a dynamic app widget where you could put 8 of your favorite apps on three -per location- settings: home, work, outside. So when home you could have your personal apps, for work you could have productivity apps, for outside you could have maps, foursquare etc, straight on your homescreen. Haven't found a similar widget yet.
Total Launcher and Square Home are really good. Hyperion launcher may not be among the best, but it has the best animations with background zoom out/in when opening/closing apps, almost like the stock Pixel launcher, but not quite as smooth.
