In my life I caught carp up to 55 Lbs, but on the normal way, ledgering with corn and boilies.
Besides carpfishing I also go flyfishing, mainly in early spring and late autumn.
Until now I've never flyfished for carp. Mainly that's because the waters here are not very clear. And that's the key, you fish on sight. When you don't see them it's no use just casting a fly somewhere and wait for it they take it.
Something else, The carp you caught was nicely dark coloured, almost black. It's remarkeble with carp that the clearer the water, the darker they are.

Thanks for sharing. I figured out the same gentle technique with the ol mr wiggly this summer in north Texas for large mouth bass in shallow clear water. It has been hands down my #1 fly this summer. Looks like y’all have plenty on hand. If I don’t tie my own I will get some from you gents.

Caught some BIG smallmouth this year dead drifting big wigglies and poppers. I guide for them here in Michigan and nothing competes with streamers, but dead drifting wigglies and working poppers painfully slow can yield results!

I fly fish often and I use a 5/6 wf fly tackle. The problem is with the invasive, non native red belly pacus in some of our rivers. The moment they grab the fly, the leader line gets snipped off by their teeth.
I'm at wits end how to get around this problem. What would be your advice?
