I lost count for how many times I had to perform quick fixies on plastic swivel parts...every single piece of plastic literary fell apart. And the most annoying detail, these sound as new after 5 yrs of daily use, battery stills in great shape. I guess I found motivation to do what should had been done long ago. Thank you
I dropped my headphones on the ground and broke the swivel. This video was the perfect savior for my wallet! 🎉🎉🎉 For someome doing their first soldering, the hardest part was figuring out how to work the iron! 😂😂😂
My little brother got a hold of mine a few years back and he didn't understand the concept of "don't pull apart so far on the headphones when you're taking them off" and he ended up breaking them :^) after 4 years I finally have enough courage to replace them
I bought a couple of Sony's the same as your video and both was broken not in shipping but" As Is" and a light bulb went off and a mighty voice came in my mind " Hey! You big dummy, check out Utube for some that been where a dummy never been before!" Duh, the next thought of course came through. All joking aside your video was informative AND I could tell, showed me something you did that was going to stop me from calling myself a big dummy. Thanks again, you just got yourself another subscriber. Cheers 🍻
0:29 Hello. I clicked on the link fornte part but it looks no longer aailable. I actually found it in Walmart online, $20 for the left a d rigght. waiting to get them by next week. I also have an older Sony MDR V55 that also broke on the swivel. Any ideas as to how repair them? thanks
So…. I ommm, may or may not have bought 5 other pairs not knowing that you could buy parts so…. Yeah…$769 down the drain. But hey their all fixed now! ❤love the video man! ❤ just wish I knew about it sooner 😅
I’m trying to fix my son’s and have the part. I am trying to follow your steps; however, I am wondering how do I put back the cables? What is the silver thing you use to make them stay in place?
J'e ou le exacte même problème ! Merci énormément ! Do you know the name of the replacement part and a please to recommend to buy? Great thanks to you and bad quality Sony or engineering teem.
A colleague of mine filled (and soldered) the broken plastic swivel mechanism with a hot plastic stick and that really worked. I still use these, though they are annoying
Hey! First off thanks for posting the vid! I am having a small issue my left side was broken so I'm not sure if this affected anything, but when I finished soldering and had reassembled the headphones my play/ call function button no longer worked properly. Pressing it now skipped songs instead of pausing or playing. Also volume keys are also a mess. Volume up turns the volume down and volume down skips forward in a playlist. If there is any insight you can give me I'd appreciate it!
Great video. Unfortunately I'm all thumbs. Do you do repairs, I have 2 of these earphones (I don't learn) . If you don't , can you recommend repairs elsewhere.
Just repaired mine thanks to your video….thank you so much for being clear and concise for an old man like me 😂
