- How to change the oil on the 2022 4 cylinder turbo gas Sprinter. Engine code 229.5 or M274 for the 2.0L gas turbo 4cyl engine. Filter: amzn.to/3ErqWm4 She needs 11.1 quarts of oil. Amazon has the oil but Walmart kicked butt. Amazon link 5 Quarts 0w-40: amzn.to/3PpvHCH Walmart link 12 Quart Bag box 0w-40: shorturl.at/ahx15 The 12 qt box bag was awesome! I did not spill a drop because you can balance the box on the oil fill mouth and frame and open the spigot and dump the oil straight in clean and fast! A 1 1/16" Socket took off the filter. Thanks for putting out your video. I personally use a euro synthetic oil with a API-SP classification. It’s designed more for gas direct injection engines, which helps with low speed pre ignition. Either way you’re probably fine as long as the back of the bottle states Mercedes-Benz 229.5 on it.
Whats that red handle/pull dohicky thing on the airbox do?
I think its a battery quick disconnect.
Interesting. That could be a pretty effective anti theft deterrent once your van is built out @@wetlifesports
Thank you
How often do you change the oil
7500k to 10k
I dont have 5K on my sprinter van and its asking me to change the oil
Great video, can i ask how's your gas sprinter running so far compared to diesal, apart from oil/filter change , any other key maintenance ? spark plugs / tranny oil etc. Thanks
Thank you, see my other sprinter vids, it might help as well. I point out the bad design features. But, she's been perfect mechanically. Averaging about 18.4mpg. I did an oil change myself just to understand it better and it was easy other than its like 11 quarts. But the 12 quart box of oil made it easier than any oil change I've done. It's been better on power in passing and performance. Now that i insulated it, its very good for trips, quiet. All good so far just under 12k miles.
We have 6 2021-2024 gas sprinter 170” high roofs and they’re all issue free. A bit of lag from a stop light, not much difference from auto stop engines, I assume due to the turbo lag primarily. Oil capacity is horrendously large but crews like these as much or more than Transits and definitely more than Dodges.
What socket size for the drain plug? And what torque did you torque the drain plug ?
Sorry, don't recall, I don't torque.
@wetlifesports found it on amsoil website. 22 ft/lb
13mm
About to do my sprinter gas oil change. It says 5w-40. 0w-40 is good enough right??
Perfect, especially going into winter.
@@wetlifesports are you also doing fuel filter changes as recommended by the manual as well?
If you change the oil by yourself, will the warranty of the car be invalidated?
No, just keep records and receipts in case they ask.
