@@odirmenjivar2076 I didn’t know that! Thank you for that tidbit. The one from Planet Hollywood was sold and the description said it was a Banana’s car but it had clearly been refitted for TLB97, so that makes sense that a TLB68 would have been on the lot, too.
@@Ofp238 Well it is not exactly what you'd call the Hero #1 car. The Hero #1 car is build and the rest is based of it, as I said it was not the brightest idea given that it was an original 1968 built Herbie, but they did that with many Herbies in "Montecarlo" most cars were repurposed from "Rides again" and in "Goes Bananas" many were repurposed from "Montecarlo" even the one that Sunk in Puerto Vallarta (R.I.P.)
@@odirmenjivar2076 I get where you are coming from with the repurposing, but the cars from montecarlo, rides again, and goes bananas were all very similar apart for a few very minor details such as the front fog lamp and the fake fuel tank cap. But for the 97 love bug, the car looked completely different, with a completely different number font for the racing number, the interior changed from grey to cream, the sunroof changed from grey to cream, the steering wheel changed slightly to name a few differences. I can understand the argument for repurposing an original car, but I don't see the point of that when they could just use stock beetle (hence all the differences in the details). If I'm wrong, cool.
Leuk om te zien zeg, zeker omdat het films uit mijn jeugd zijn, ja zo oud ben ik alweer haha. Ik volg je net, maar je bent bij mij al bekend als van Blik op de weg waar je veelvuldig gefilmd werd.
I dont think The first one you showed (the one you said was the original) is the the one from the 1968 film. A few major differences: The one from the original film had a grey interior not cream, had the bigger and lower '53' on the front bonnet, the sunroof was dark grey not cream, the steering wheel in the original had a ring horn button on the steering wheel and this one has a flat one and the car doesn't have the rubber handle straps for the back-seat passengers, That looks more like the car from the 1997 film which had the smaller font 53.
@@NielsHoogma gaaf! Wij hadden 9 polos allemaal orgineel uit Duitsland I.v.m verbouwing hebben we er nog twee misschien heb je ze wel eens gezien in Assen
the junk yard paint one from fullyloaded in some verry rare ocasions shows up at car shows in the netherlands because the colection is from a dutch car colector
In my opinion, herbie looked fine in the 97 movie, weird choice to make the 53 smaller though. The only design i like the least is the Nascar design, though I've never been a huge fan of NASCAR so maybe that's why
in my theory the fact of the love bug 1997 movie is a telefilm and the box office is low they only use three models one is normal herbie two is dead herbie and three is half herbie

The street racer versions is mad underrated
I love Volkswagen Cars and I love Herbie 53!
🇵🇭🌻
Geweldig gedaan ,we hebben ook alle films van Herbie ,het blijven super films
Best Herbie video outside the movies ever!
The very first Herbie you showed us is from the 1999 TV movie love bug with Bruce Campbell not the original 1960s film
Nope, it is an original Herbie repurposed for that movie, yes it might not be the best idea, but that is better than just leaving that car to rust.

too bad you didn't give any information on the model years of the cars that were used or if they were modified to look like '63 Beetles.
Great Video, such an amazing collection 😍 I really have to visit this 😍
