So glad they mentioned the Herbie TV show! I have a distinct memory of watching that when I was a kid, but no one else remembers, so I was starting to think it was a fever dream.
One of my childhood favorites, and one of the fewest Disney movies that I actually like. Herbie also ranks up there with The DeLorean, KITT, and The General Lee.
I was born in 2004, watched fully loaded in like 2009 and 2 years later I found out that there were other movies. Even though I didn’t understand English, The love bug became my favorite of the movies. It’s probably thanks to Buddy Hacket. I love his character
Disney should release a 50th anniversary bluray set of all the movies along with the 1982 TV series digitally remastered. Throw an extended cut of Fully Loaded in there, too.
As a kid I saw Herbie hiding in the selling of a Disney gift shop in Paris before seeing on stage of a stunt show and it one of the many best days of my childhood (Herbie is love 4 life!!!)
Why couldn't they have Herbie put his tire prints in the cement at Disney's Hollywood Studios instead? I reckon they could have stayed there for a much longer time.
I always loved the movies as a kid. These days I'm expecting the Ultra NON-kid friendly Disney try to put out a "Bud Light" Herbie. If you get my meaning. How sick but they are sick now!
Basically everyone from the first movie is. This actually made me really upset as I'm 19 so it's the first 60's movie I've watched and characters I've had feelings for.
@@Eddy2730 I was only upset for half an hour haha. The first movie was great, but I watched the 2 after and they seemed like TV episodes of Herbie. Hopefully Herbie goes Bananas will be better.
I still have a hard time watching Herbie walk the plank, i read that the herbie used is still somewhere between La Paz and Baja, not sure what would be left of the car, thank you.
Ik this is an old comment, but i have to say narratively speaking Horace is created from the emotion of the scottsmans character ego rather than the love and care that the creator gave the original Herbie The reason he was destroyed was because of his rage and the explosive modifications given to him by his owner, you could even go as far as to say Horace is a tragic story as he is only destroyed because of the issues his owner gave him by making him out of greed and jealousy rather than love and care. But his owner payed the price in the end as we all know, perhaps in a different timeline they couldve remade him like they did Herbie
But I think that Herbie Fully Loaded is the worst of all the six movies because: 1). Herbie behaves too much like a human 2). Lindsey Lohan isn't a good owner for Herbie and I don't like her character
Herbie is the reason a VW beetle is my dream car! I can’t drive standard, but someday I hope to buy a white 2010ish VW beetle, dress it up like Herbie (red and blue stripes with the number 53 on all sides), and name it Herbie Jr.❤❤❤
Herbie fully loaded had potential, it had some pretty sick designs like street racer herbie, but the things that ruined it where the exagerated cgi and that they give herbie a mouth and eyes
I don't like fully loaded either, but I think that Herbie really has eyes in all the movies. His headlights have to be his eyes because it makes perfect sense.
I've been a Herbie fan for decades, love the big screen films, but I was horrified in 1997, The Love Bug remake was released for television and the evil Volkswagen "Horace" The Hate Bug, actually killed Herbie during the movie, although Herbie was brought back to life later in the film, It always bothered me that Disney executives allowed this to happen. I personally would have never allowed Herbie to die. Disney had to get tons of hate mail over that scene.
I imagine the scene in Herbie Goes Bananas when he's dumped off the cruise ship generated just as much heat at the time. I have been a die hard Herbie fan my whole life and to this day that scene stills bothers me, and that movie overall is my least favorite of the entire franchise. I'm going to Disney in Orlando in a month and staying at the All Star Movies Resort, hopefully in the Love Bug Section!
I wish they’d make a new herbie movie Though honestly it’s probably better off as a complete reboot since it’s been so long since herbie fully loaded I could imagine someone like Chris Pratt being Herbie’s new owner or if it’s a reboot he’d be the new Jim Douglas and maybe the villain played by someone like Samuel L Jackson being someone who wants herbie to be destroyed or humiliated You know traditional herbie stuff Just an idea really i imagine Disney has no plans to make any herbie movies :-(
