I finally used Light of Elune in TBC. It was M'uru and we were looking at another yet another 1% wipe. Not today though, I decided it was finally time to use Light of Elune! I'll never forget you for that. Boss died with 2 or 3 people standing, myself included of course.
I kept a "Sheen of Zanza" in my paranoid prepper-style PvP consumables bag. It was a Zul Gurub reputation potion too, but it let you reflect 1 spell as well as giving you a chance to reflect 2% of spells for an hour after that. I used it while I was getting ambushed when I was fishing. A mage was winding up his 8 second pyroblast spell to gank me with, I reacted instinctually, but that one part of my soul that was waiting exactly for a situation like this to occur halted me, said "Just keep fishing!" I then recast my line and waited for the big fireball to hit me. I chugged the potion right before it did, it reflected it at him, and then I executed the thoroughly surprised mage while still wearing my fishing gear. I got a message later saying "My friend is freaking out saying a warlock reflected his spell at him. I keep telling him he's dumb, warlocks can't reflect spells. What is he talking about?" I then just link the potion.
Sheen of Zanza was used to trivialize that wasp boss in AQ too. Everyone pop it so the first spell she cast, the aoe poison, would get reflected back on her. And she'd melt in a matter of moments.
Nice list! Honorary mentions: Savory Deviate Delight(Makes you a flippin ninja!), Orb of Deception(makes you into a race from the other faction), Winterfall Firewater(makes you bigger), Elixir of Giant Growth(makes you bigger). World Shrinker(makes you bigger).
I would like to add two awesome consumables to the list. The first is 'magic dust' it drops from the Dust Devils in Westfall. It let everybody to sheep a target. With cast time exactly like every mage does. Since Zap works very poorly in Vanilla I farm them with my Rogue all the time. 2nd awesome thing is 'Oil of Immolation'. Used as a tank it generates a lot of thread in a circle around you by burning everyone. The best was for AOE tanking in Vanilla and it basically has no cooldown you can use one after another. It is really the "I win" button for tanks.
7:45 unless blizzard is applying bc prepatch rules to wow classic, flasks should not count as battle and guardian elixirs Battle and guardian elixirs should not even be a classification in classic, as they, along with their exclusivity with flasks was added in BC as a way to tone down the insane consumable requirements felt in naxx40 I could be wrong, but this is how I remember it playing out
2.1.0 is the first patch I can find mention of battle/guardian elixirs wowwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Patch_2.1.0 "Elixirs now stack in two categories, Battle (Offensive) and Guardian (Defensive) Elixirs. You can only have one of each type of Elixir up at a time. As a result Elixirs now stack with class abilities such as Arcane Intellect." They don't specifically mention flasks, but if 2.1.0 is when the battle/guardian elixir categories were added, then its probably safe to assume flasks coulsnt have been considered them before 2.1.0 Obviously Im just random guy on the internet dont take me at my word, but I hope this is helpful in your research. Even if Im right, it doesnt hurt flasks status in this video. It actually makes them even more impressive, since using them doesnt prevent you from using additional alchemy buffs. Under the later battle/guardian system, you had to choose between elixirs or flask, and often elixirs were the better albeit more expensive option(when chain wiping on progression content.)
I remember using Light of Elune with my guildmates- we wanted to kill C'thun (we knew it was not possible for us to defeat him cuz we sucked at the game) so we tried unconventional methods, we prepped up, attacked C'thun, lowered him to like 1/2 health, popped light of elune just to wipe after 30 seconds. We weren't even close to defeating him we never beaten C'thun untill our guild fell apart.
RE: Dartols Rod- in PvP holy-based heals can be juked using this as the hands glow as if casting a heal- so good to keep if you plan to play a healer in pvp. Just hope that the enemy isnt using a cast bar addon 😩
Eh. The horde gets Sword of Omens. But it doesn't really have unique effects. Still super cool. Another super cool item is Dragons Call. A level 55 one hander sword that can spawn green welplings to assist during a fight. Since it's not unique, you can dual wield it as a fury warrior. And if your fury warrior happens to be an engineer it pairs well with the arcanite dragonling and the gnomish battle chicken for a total of 5 possible adds assisting you in a fight.
Oh. And green whelp armor used to be surprisingly good. Especially against rogues if I remember correctly. Just pop a stam enchant on it and watch as their openers get waisted some times as they randomly fall asleep.
OH MAN! I have Linkens Sword of Mastery and Boomerang to this day on my Paladin. Back in OG WoW, when I got that trinket.. Oh dude... You don't believe how much of a game changer that was. A RANGED ATTACK?!? THAT I DIDN'T NEED TO REDUCE MY ENEMY DOWN TO 35% HEALTH TO USE?!? Seriously man. Best trinket especially when paired with the 6 Demon Bag.
I remember using living action potions in cata for that boss that aoe stuns the entire raid and you need to interrupt his spell cast, brought heaps along with me and handed them out and we two shot the boss lol
I'm pretty sure there is a mistake in this, correct me if I am wrong but, isn't the ability for the whole raid to loot songflower buff a private server bug? I think in Classic only ONE person will be able to loot the buff, and then it disappears.
It's been a while but if you're talking about things that people used to do for raid power.... high maul or dire maul.... (not sure on name anymore)... but it was the dungeon where you would avoid all the bosses and get a really good buff at end... That used to be something that people would do commonly.
15 years later I'm still waiting for the right moment to use Light of Elune.
You and I both.

True these are both great items - maybe I should of put these instead of the Alliance only items!
Another decent one that you get from STV is the Jungle Remedy. They were easy to acquire as well.

Light of Elune is just a Blizzard troll, its a way to limit your available bag space. clever little devs.

There are no Battle/guardian elixirs in vanilla. Everything stacks unless it has the same stats
Ah my bad then! Cheers

yo thats a sick idea
Add-ons especially for pvp are so pathetic. Maybe as well go play retail if you can’t man up.
@@digitalpunk5365 might as well just have no add-ons for the "true classic experience"
Usually lists like these are straight up engineering doodads; pleasantly surprised despite Alliance bias...
