@@TheBrokenSword I love hidden realms so gondolin ... Then erabor for dwarves and nargothrond.. Then maybe I dunno ...I like how Mordor is set up in the layout of the mountains not the nasty air
Of all of the locations brought to life in Peter Jackson’s movies, Rivendell was the zenith. The imagery drew emotion that perfectly aligned with Tolkien’s furtive, artistic, and relationship building purposes of this magical homely home. Once the elves moved out, I am sure an enterprising denizen of the fourth age turned this city into Middle Earth’s first bed and breakfast!
The valley of Imladris was based upon the landscape of Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland. J.R.R. Tolkien was said to have journeyed to this region; his original painting of Rivendell is significantly similarities to the Lauterbrunnen itself.
Elrond did a pretty good job living up to his pop’s legacy. To answer your question prolly Gondolin, it’d be pretty cool to chill at the fountain of the king while Ecthelion plays the flute
Rivendell would probably be cool. Realistically the place I would be most content, but I tend to idolize Lothlorien more, and it might be just as well or better, at their respective peaks.
I wonder what it would have been like to be a common elf born and raised in the different elven realms. Considering that elves are immortal but not invincible, I'd imagine that things such as; promotions, inheritances, political change, and cultural change are agonizingly slow. 😢😂
Well, I'm sure Lothlorien as just as peaceful as Rivendell but honestly I'd rather live in Rivendell. It seems more homely, more welcoming and comfortable for ordinary folk.
And my question at 4:25 is - Where did the food come from? After the fall of Arthedain there really aren't any settlements east of Bree and no mention is made of farms, not even in passing.
Is Rivendell really big? For thousands of soldiers of the Last Alliance to live there for 3 years preparing for war, it would need to be bigger than a large mansion, which seems to be how it's depicted. Unless Elvish magic from Elrond provided the logistics needed for those soldiers.
Although Rivendell is a much fancier place than Bree, I will still keep the mighty village of Bree as the most important roadhouse on the Great Eastern Road. And I know that those Elves served up some mighty special banquets, give me a wagon full of friends and a few barrels of ale from the Prancing Pony, any day! Besides, everyone knows that Bree makes the best barbecue pork butt in all of Middle Earth!
Excellent video! Quite uncommon on YT! ;) Question: since Rivendell was a focal point of lore in ME, do you think the Elves made a copy of Bilbo's writings? Would they be interested in what the hobbits were doing - well, at least before the events of the War of the Ring?
Rivendell {my choice to visit} was the inspiration for my elven city of Stellaboria "Starwood" {thank you John Denver}. Similarly Thranduil's Halls are the inspiration for Crysalia, another elven realm.
If the stories continued, do you think the characters will only be man or would the other races still have a role to play? Since the departure of the majority of elves.

"And the house of Elrond was a refuge for the weary and the oppressed, and a treasury of good counsel and wise lore."
"Haven turned heartbeat of middle earth" so perfect! I will never forget the first time I felt seeing it on the big screen😭

I loved the Rivendell chapters in Tolkien's books! There was such a feeling of warmth and comfort when reading those sections.

I really like Rivendell!!!!
But i absolutely love the Woodland Realm and Lothlorien!!!
Woodelves and Archery!!!

What became of Rivendell in the Fourth Age and beyond?
Plus the most powerful Elf resides there for it's protection, Glorfindel.
"The Heartbeat of Middle-Earth". Yes. That's a beautiful way of putting it. 🙂
We're going to see the elves

Right?!? It’s like the neighborhood bar as compared to Studio 54

Can you do a video on what all the rings are used for?
Well Lothlórien for most peaceful right?
Those who would set foot in those lands would be wise to not do so lightly.
Mirkwood, just to meet Thranduil ❤️

I’d like to go to Doriath or Nargothrond (sp?) to see Menegroth.
Best vacation spot. Would Recommend.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Imladris was the last great stronghold of the Noldor where the history of Arda was kept and the greatest craftsmen outside of the dwarven race dwelt

When the elves left middle earth to head back to Valinor… Did men take over Rivendell or was it left for nature to take it over?
Turned into apartments under a Pakistanis landlord!
All these comments on third age elven realms are forgetting the Grey Havens. I'm staying in that beautiful harbour
Nice work dude thanks
I'd love to visit Lothorien the most.
If they had internet, and I could take my games PC, I could have been happy at Rivendell.
What was the most powerful and least powerful eleven realm of all of middle earths history?
The last Homely House.
Also a damn nice song by Rush
Good video
Every dream and fantasy of mine leads to Rivendell.
A ReVEREd Haven, indeed 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤❤
I want to visit all the elven havens and strongholds
Rivendell would have been the one place in Middle Earth I'd love to go to most if it were real, followed by the Shire.
It seems impossible to me that Gandalf did not have Elrond look at Bilbos ring on the way back to the Shire.
He didn't suspect it was the Ring until much later.
Menegroth or Gondolin, or Nargathrond.
Rivendell was in origin a military stronghold.
Also there was no ring in Rivendell at first.
If the stories continued, do you think the characters will only be man or would the other races still have a role to play? Since the departure of the majority of elves.
👍👍
What Switzerland is to Europe is what Rivendell is to the Middle Earth
To saurons army.
Visit? Gondlin
Who is “Alrond” and what are “Alves?”
