Now he is a professional baseball player with the Miami Marlins and has played in 3 games as of today (August 7, 2020). UPDATE: He played in 12 games during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, batting .189 with a double, two RBI and six runs scored. His first two career hits came against two-time Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom.

@@ocoop In winning silver, the U.S.National Baseball Team secured its fourth Olympic baseball medal in six Games, and Second baseman and United States flagbearer at the Opening Ceremony, Eddy Alvarez, became just the third American ever to win medals at both the Winter and Summer Olympics. He won silver in short track speed skating at the Sochi 2014 Olympics.

@@VILJL he’s the first to do it in so long. it seems unimaginable honestly to be world class in two separate professions.

Always great to see behind-the-scenes of an athlete. And saying they work hard is always an understatement.

Hello, short track speed skaters do not go 40 miles an hour, not even close. The top measured speed in long track speed skating is approximately 61 kilometers an hour, that is 38.9 miles an hour, but they also push on the straights and use both legs. Top speed in short track is probably just under 35 miles and hour.

You're right, Jeff Simon was once measured at 35,6 mph (absolute top speed during a 500m)
