In my humble opinion, you are by far the best to watch in the industry. You are brutally honest and call a spade a spade. You also represent the average joe and don’t go crazy with aftermarket parts because you’re a highly paid youtuber. You also do 100% of your own builds unlike some other channels that I won’t mention. Keep up the awesome work. Great to see you back.
I really like your comment about appreciating the thought that goes into a design, apparent when you take the time to put a rig together with your own two hands. With a strong exposure to engineering myself, I quietly give the the thumbs up to the team at, for example Axial, when I see an elegant design solution, rather than just bashing the company for say, plastic this and that, over which the designer has no control.
I used to be a hpi fan , but very few hobby shops want to carry parts . The parts on hpi always were very strong . I have a blitz and loved it . I think I'll give this kit a try. I always like your videos on rc .
Ive been a fan of hpi kits for years they allways include a few nice hop up parts that arent featured with the ready to run trucks and being able to spec your own electronics and body is just half of the fun. Its been a long time since ive put a kit together and this one looks awesome.
I love your fresh take on this.. not messing about with every detail on the box, pictures, bags, etc! I hate it when a reviewer spends time on talking about how many AA batteries are needed for an RTR radio UNLESS they're included :/.. sheesh
Well I'm English and I would expect it to be a joke,we rarely take anything seriously. Unfortunately these litigious days you just never know. Glad to hear the Canucks haven't lost theirs....toodle pip.
Here in Australia for a few years, hpi parts and kits were really hard to get because of the wholesalers. I look forward to getting this kit if Available. Thanks for the information on this kit mate..
Hi Chris nice rig , im sure you have great plans with this one always a pleasure seeing your builds .. Hope lifes treating you well Take care my Friend …
Appreciate you sharing Chris, I always enjoy all of your videos, especially your paint videos you're the man. I'll be watching for more. And a happy new year to you.
I'm new to the hobby. Thanks for the video. I'm hoping to get a couple kits soon, one for a drift set up, another for a crawler. Not sure where to start, but I look forward to it!
Great job,i like it.as far as these builder kits go i like this one the best, with all the upgrades and the weights with a forward motor just seems like the best buy.
I have one of these kits that I have not built yet. This was very eye opening for me. A few things I would change (things I always change on all my kits) is I am waiting on my stainless steel screw kit, some better drive shafts, and my radio to come in, I also bought a pair of portal axles for mine. But I am wondering if anyone has tried to stuff a nitro engine into one of these kits yet.
Hey Chris, I know it's been some time since you review ed the hpi sbk, and they went under and all but I was really wanting to see the completed truck. Did you ever finish it?
-love the video thanks for taking the time to doing it. One question is what is the wheel base? One more I drive a real FJ cruiser and have been looking forever for a clear body thanks again
Very nice! Great overview, two D bags in the video huh! 😁 Videos are always entertaining! Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for paint on the body! Nice shirt!
The kit seems to be 100 times better then the rtr... I give mine sooo much mods but now i am happy with it...the stock links are very poor on the rtr as an example. It's a little shame that the kit has the same steering angle thats al negatives i find on the kit..but vey good and very interesting Video. Thanks for sharing
Although the steering angle isn't insane, that will only ever truly matter in a comp. I think in any other case it will just be considered a driving characteristic. Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it!
Hope you get this comment soon, but I have this kit and am stuck on the slipper clutch spring. I can not fit the cup on and the spring is so stiff I can not push it down to get the screw in the hole. Was hoping you had some insight. No info on this out yet.
Hi Propaganda! The slipper was a pain indeed. I ended up putting some preload on that spring using a vise. It is an amazingly sturdy and durable looking setup, but the assemble is tricky. Let me know if you manage to get it done like that.
Thanks for the reply Chris. I finally got it. I have no vice and my other options ,C clamps are in my storage unit. So what I did was use a plumbers pipe wrench and use vice grips to tighten it like a vice and was able to get that screw pin in. Wish I had though of that sooner. Legit been trying to push down on the spring to get that screw in for a afternoon. Can not wait to see this truck built, its my first kit.
I was really looking forward to getting one of these kits, but then the delay.. Traxxas and Axial came out with theirs and for less cost.. but it wasn't what I really wanted. So I waited........ now I see that the price has dropped! Now for me it seems like a no brainer which to get. Pre Order it goes. Now to just compete with all the others that will see this vid, because once someone in the know does a review they quickly come off the shelves.
Despite the delay, I indeed think these were well worth the wait. Even at the originally announced price tag of $250. This is a lot of value for money and a great joy to assemble. :)
I wonder if 1 of those xtra speed jeep jk bodies would fit this ,i was gonna get the axial raw builders kit but have an axial all ready. How are the aftermarket offerings for the hpi?like mainly bumper choices.Great review
Great video, im looking to purchase my first kit to build. You say this one is by far one of your favorite kits to build, my question to you is... what are some of your other favorites builds? Thank you!!
HPI is one of the best when it comes to kits, the fit and finish, manual, their Shocks from 1/10 touring to crawler, an HPI will be top notch. I agree you dont get a sense of what goes into a RC with an RTR, and until you build a quality kit, Xray, TLR, AE, HPI, Tekno, etc you really don't get a sense of what goes into making and building these kits, and how much technology really goes into them
A "D bag" and a "Beef tube"...God, I am immature for my age...haha :) Nice kit though. I am looking at the HPI venture and the Redcat Gen 8 for my first crawler. Glad you are doing videos again sir. I look forward to them. Cheers from Canada
Great review! You have the Axial SCX10.2, Traxxas TRX4, Vaterra Ascender, and the HPI Venture...Where in the group do you rank the Venture compared to the others?( translation 4 U...to D udders) kidding. Love the accent..Peace.
My only minor issue with the mighty venture is it doesn't feel planted. When using my trx4 you can almost feel the weight through the tx, you don't get that with the Venture. £ for £ the Venture is the best on the market.
Great video with some good detailed description, thanks for going through the build and making this video i am sure it will help others with there decision, I an not the first to comment but I think mine is more intelligent than the first one. Chers bud.
Hi Francois! I hope you are doing well! Definitely a very interesting offering, and I indeed hope that it will help some people in making up their mind.

I know you of all people are 100% aware that that is true! You haven't owned anything before taking it apart and understanding the thought behind it. High five, talk soon Stefan!
Why don't kits come with stainless links instead of aluminum? I was able to get like 30' of tube for like $20 to make my own links for all of my Axial trucks. Still have enough to do like 20 more sets. Yeah, they're heavy links but they won't bend or grind down like aluminum.
In my humble opinion, you are by far the best to watch in the industry. You are brutally honest and call a spade a spade.
You also represent the average joe and don’t go crazy with aftermarket parts because you’re a highly paid youtuber.

Chris, im thankful to see you back doing your thing and doing well. Thank you 🙏
I am very happy that I'm able to make them again. thank you for the support!
Legend of the scale builder lives on in many forms
Sure does!
Your the man Chris I need to hone my paint skills can't wait for next project
I love your fresh take on this.. not messing about with every detail on the box, pictures, bags, etc! I hate it when a reviewer spends time on talking about how many AA batteries are needed for an RTR radio UNLESS they're included :/.. sheesh
Nobody has time for that, haha!
Awesome! I love my HPI Venture, I’m glad they came out with a kit!!
So am I, it is way more fun to assemble them yourself!
Seems like I've been waiting freaking forever for this kit, because... I've been waiting freaking forever for this kit!
Nice video Chris. Great to see you back on the Tube!
I'm very happy to be back. Thanks again for the SRR tips, much appreciated!
Just pre ordered this kit. Looking forward to this project!!
Have fun building it, Mark. Let me know how you get along!
I've already got my lawyers in touch with them for infringing on the "Scale Builder's" name.
Is this American humour, or for real? If the latter then you need help....
Sean P it’s Canadian humour, and of course I’m not serious. Sheesh!
@@scalebuildersguild I'd be more worried about being called American 🤣
Looks like the TH-cam account of Scale Builder's Guild has been hacked by someone working for Traxxas... They're good in lawsuits... LOL

I agree, the HPI is my favorite chassis so far. I am looking forward to getting another one.
You do great stuff with yours, thank you for watching Wes!
Looks like a very well thought out kit. Like how it comes with the axel weights.
Exceptionally complete for sure!
Here in Australia for a few years, hpi parts and kits were really hard to get because of the wholesalers. I look forward to getting this kit if Available. Thanks for the information on this kit mate..

Thank you for checking it out!
Always enjoy your videos. Your humor is appreciated!
Very glad to hear that, Dan. Smiling is important!
Still as Epic as ever Chris👊. Keep em coming man, glad you are on the mend!
Cheers, so am I!
Good video. It's a far better kit than the SCX10 II. Hopefully people give it a chance.
The subtle humor is great as well!
I was on the fence about buying the venture. But now I'm definitely buying it.
It is a very convincing pile of parts indeed. Worth the wait.
You do an amazingly good job at presenting and come across as a proper genuine guy
Thanks for the vids :)
Appreciate you sharing Chris, I always enjoy all of your videos, especially your paint videos you're the man. I'll be watching for more. And a happy new year to you.
I will give one of these kits a try soon as I can. Love trying all the brands its so fun.
Yes indeed! The variety is what makes it fun.
Look, I'm not the only D-bag in this video!! Hahaha always love the humor in your videos!
Happy to hear that, Eric!
I'm new to the hobby. Thanks for the video. I'm hoping to get a couple kits soon, one for a drift set up, another for a crawler. Not sure where to start, but I look forward to it!
Great video Hemi thank you .. I hope your health is still doing good
It is, thank you for asking. Looking forward to spring!
Excellent info & advice here Chris, taking a serious look at saving up for this kit, thanks for info & ya'll know I'm definitely sharing this video.
Sounds like the best builder kit so far. nice upgrades from the rtr. Nice vice gadget too✌
I want to put a Miami sticker on it. Miami Vise. ;)

Kit looks good. Definitely a great beginning for a build.
A Venture with TRX-4 Portals will be one of my next projects

Really nice truck. I may have to get 1 my nephew.
I think you will be his favorite uncle when you do!
Wow! That looks better than the one that axial put out. Thanks for sharing. 👍👊😎🤙
looking pretty healthy bro that's good to see! always enjoy the vids keep it up!
Thank you, sir!
I seen they just released a nice flat black version, I was looking at the Axial raw builders kit, but this is a nice option n the same price
Plenty of future releases from HPI by the looks of things!
😲 Wow a tiny box! Looks good can't wait for the finished product!
Wilkl be interesting to finish it up

Awesome video excellent build had no clue they had a kit like the looks of it and upgraded
In stock soon by the looks of things!
Compare this kit with the Axial scx10 kit please. Thinks for the video, very cool.
Well Chris, you just convinced me, now I have to go online and buy on...lol !! Great video,

Great truck, I'm very fond of it.
awesome video, super informative, thank you for making it!
Finally got me a venture, late but here.
Great video man I really enjoy your vids!!
Nice!! I wonder if I could fit a rc4wd blazer body on it...do u know the wheelbase? Adjustable? Nice to see you back at it!!
You can adjust the wheelbase from 290 to 315 mm, I'm convinced that you can fit any body on it when you get a bit creative. Thank you for tuning in!
I am not the only D bag in the video. Classic!
For once I wasn't! ;)
Thats an awesome kit
I agree!
Hi there,
I'm very interestet in this Kit but I want to use a Pickup body. Does it fit to this chassis?
Thanks a lot
does it include the pinion gear for motor? thanks
It does, from the top of my head

How is it compare to the Enduro builder kit v2?
Another great Vid! Keep it up buddy and ride your bike 😜
"I'm not the only D bag in the video" had me laughing out loud 😂😂😂
Nothing wrong with some self ridicule. ;)
great review bro !
Look bag D. look bag E. lmao! Another great Vid from Mr. HEMI 👍👍👍👍
Nice one Chris. Any likelyhood of a comparison between axial, this and the Boomracing chassis?
Between this and the Axial, perhaps, I do not think I will be getting the BoomRacing one.

Nice review! Hey man do you know of any chassis that has a 270mm wheelbase. I was hoping this would but it's a bit too long.
Fine splines are actually stronger than coarse ones.
Different concepts all together I think, considering the TRX4 has portals. Both have their merits, there is zero doubt in my mind about that!
Is the Venture still worth buying?
Bought it one week after that post :) Lovely build!
A battery tray in the back end of a crawler can't be a sign of good engineering. How does it perform?
