She clearly can do it, but she CHOSE to have her own style of runs that's thicker, audible and more precise (not to mention that she's learned Arabic runs through that). It's called originality and that's why she's still the Queen to this day.

I'm not a Beyoncé fan, and THIS is why. Anyone with a voice this phenomenal should not be doing the absolute SHIT music she does. She's too good for her own songs, and it's annoying that she seems to be ok being the "queen" of puffed up pop, instead of the vocal powerhouse she clearly has the ability to be. I've gotten rare glimpses of who I wish she'd be on songs like Listen, and Dangerously In Love, which is one of my all time favorite ballads, and the song that made me realize why I could never be a Beyoncé fan. Then she plays Etta James, and I wanted to throw a boot thru my TV. That voice deserves so much more!
