jimmie zarate You perspective is right. The people who don't these cymbals are small minded. With the right engineer, and with the right group of jazz musicians, the right drummer with these cymbals can create a sound that a lot of people will emulate.
Depends on who's playing them.. different sound than many drummers are use to. They could never see themselves being successful with these and that's why so many negative comments... I actually like the low reverb and less feedback cause I hate when people over crash on the rides. I wouldn't play them but I enjoyed this video thanks to them...
Guys this is because the cymbals are meant to be ride on.. not to crash like he is doing, Ill recomend checking Mark Guiliana's performance on this guys. Btw the XS20 sounds AMAZING in the big and ugly series!!!
I love something new that is out if the "norm" it makes you dig deeper creativity. Once your gear sounds like everyone else's it gets boring.

but that CRASH tho! as dry as it gets to still be crispy. Haven't heard a comparable extreme to this one.
The best is the main crash that he uses, but its not that its a good sounding crash, it just sound better than the others

Love this player but cymbals sound nooooo good. I get the trashy 'against conformity' sound but just don't think Sabian have got this down like Meinl.
Great drumming, great drums, but these cymbals are disappointing. It’s like they’re trying to be dry meinls but have shallow body and ultimately fail.
I think this is even worse than the new Sabian logo
