Nice !! Idk how I missed this. I noticed Glasper was there in Blue Note like every day in late Oct-Nov, but one of those had others as well. Thanks for sharing!
Ain't gon lie, Robert is a phenomenal musician and producer, however, he needs to work with better vocalists... no more Bilal, YEEBA, and the lady who sang at the 10:55 mark in this vid. More HER and likes...
Have seen RG approx 10 times in various cities. He constantly work with just to name a few…. Lalah, Ledisi and a host of musicians from everywhere sir. I rarely see him with the same artist. 😎
@@siyabulelaklaasen2136 WTF are you chatting about bro? I clearly said Robert is a phenomenal musician... additionally I'm simply critiquing his choice in vocalists he produces and works with. I've transcribed several of his Jazz centric works... have you? I've listened to his interviews as far back as with Marian McPartland... have you? I've spent over 30 years studying music as a pianist... have you? Name me a vocalist that Robert has worked with lately that can compare with HER (the artist)... can you? BTW... why does it matter where I'm from... such a random and super irrelevant question?🥴
@@wmranson9311 You're not negating my statement if that's what you're attempting to do sir. It's great when Robert works with great vocalist, seeing that he is a great pianist/producer, however, there's no way to dispute the fact that when a musician with great talent includes, in and on a sophisticated project, musicians with subpar talent, the end product usually suffers, as it does not meet the expectations of those with trained ears. Perhaps it suffices to the layman, however, to musicians that have tirelessly trained their ears through thousand of hours of practice and performances... it just does not cut it.
Thank you
