  • The news paints a powerful and often painful picture of the world - But does this reflect our full reality? And might the world be better than we are led to believe? Jodie Jackson, an author and news literacy advocate, helps us understand what’s preventing us from being accurately informed and provides a simple but powerful strategy to heal our broken worldview. Through her compelling insights, Jodie shows why improving our news diet is vital for improving our individual and collective wellbeing. Jodie is founder of the News Literacy Lab, and author of You Are What You Read: why changing your media diet can change the world. Jodie has devoted ten years to researching solutions journalism as an antidote to the damaging impact of the negativity bias in the news on our mental health and the health of our society. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

My struggle with news started in the age of Lady (not princess Diana). To heal depression and anxiety I became news-less. So glad others have sought solutions that those of us in the wilderness can follow. 🙏🏼. I only follow organisations with balanced problem/solution focused approach. Watching the media is too much like watching shark frenzy because there's a few drops of blood in the water, makes me wince and cry.

Instead of putting all the responsibility on the individual, put rules and regulation on the provider of the news/misinformation. But that would most likely hurt profits, and that doesnt make the shareholders happy. And we cant accept that... Once more greed is in the way of us living in a better world.

You are in a really important city to talk about misinformation, fake news and biased news, London. That is where most of those news are produced at the BBC!
Please pay a visit to BBC and tell them, now we know how to deal with their news.

God loves you and takes care of you. The biggest loss that a person loses in this life is to live and die while he does not know God or His Messenger, Muhammad, the last of the prophets and the Islamic religion, the last of the heavenly religions, from intelligence. Before you believe in something or not, study it and try to understand it well, and then you have the choice. By reading the Noble Qur’an with translation and trying to understand it before time runs out
