I have preproduction N5 dash cameras. Those units have their IR filters internally wired backwards, so I cannot test any firmware updates without the IR filters operating reverse of normal. I've had a couple occurrences of the N5 not recording during a driving trip. The front camera also has dropped/duplicated video frames which is one of the main reasons I want to update the firmware. Vantrue is going to send me a production N5 for further testing, but it's taking a while to get the production unit sent to me.
My current "best dashcam" recommendation for a multi channel dash camera would be the VIOFO A139 Pro. You can purchase it in 1-channel, 2-channel or 3-channel configurations. To take full advantage of the features of the VIOFO A139 Pro, you need to buy a good quality microSD card (check out "What card to use in A139 Pro" viofo.com/content/75-A139-Pro-Support/ ) and the VIOFO HK3-C hardwire kit to utilize the parking mode feature of the dash camera.
If you need a four channel dash camera, it may be what you need. I haven't re-installed the N5 in my car, because the Vantrue support team seemed to take long break from supporting people reviewing their products mid to late last year. I encountered some focus sharpness problems with the rear camera as well, but Vantrue did send me a replacement unit a few weeks ago.
The front interior camera's left/right adjustment comes from the ball socket mount for the front camera. It you aim the front camera so it covers the left/right field of view correctly that should allow the interior camera to properly have a left/right field of view. The up/down adjustment for the front interior camera is separate from the front camera since you can rotate the front interior camera up/down. The rear interior camera only has an up/down adjustment.
The weather has not been "hot" just yet. The pre-production N5 that I have installed in my car randomly stops recording video (while driving or parking). It does not appear to turn off. Vantrue is sending me a production N5 which fixes an IR filter functionality issue which prevents me from updating it to later firmware and it should hopefully resolve the random failure to record issues. The weather looks like it will warm up in the first part of July, so I hope to have more info about how well the N5 performs at that point in time.

The front interior, rear interior and rear cameras all are out of focus. Vantrue is still working on the focus issue. I'm waiting on feedback from Vantrue engineering on the video samples proving this problem is present.

I believe I did everything I could to avoid the potential accident that the other driver was responsible for creating, but somehow I'm in the wrong. I've learned that type of feedback is just going to happen.
It's not too difficult to install. The only trick is to find a location on the front windshield that allows the front and front interior cameras to have a decent field of view. The rear camera cable where it attaches to the front camera body can be a limiting factor in how high up on the windshield you place the front camera body.

I honked once. I was going 10 MPH under the speed limit and the other driver entered the roadway without checking for traffic (my car) in both directions that has the right of way. This video is simply showing that one event from the four different dash cameras that are part of the Vantrue N5 dash camera.

The driver of the other car was irresponsible for not verifying that there was no traffic on the other side of the van which was blocking their view. I braked which reduced my speed from 37 MPH down to 17 MPH with a speed limit of 45 MPH on that section of road. The dash camera speed display is delayed by 2 to 3 seconds. I moved my car to the right as much as I could while still avoiding the shrub/tree and gravel on the right. The wide angle view of the lens makes the amount of distance between my car's right side and the shrub/tree look like there was more space for me to move the car further off of the road and retain control, but there wasn't. The other driver froze and didn't handle the situation well that they created.
That camera looks horrible during the day, I don't want to see how it will look at night, it looks like a 2 Mega Pixels camera, the one that old cell phones came with.
At any moment they are going to give you 2 shots for honking the horn like that, you seem like an aggressive driver, the horn is played in a shorter way, just to warn, but you keep on honking it even after passing the car that you you honk, even, you look at him and stare at him like aggressive people

Is this Vantrue N5 4 Channel dashcam worth $399?
