Seems like Vantrue is the clear winner, luckily my 14 Forester doesn't have that EyeSight on the top so I can install normally.. Though 300+ for that seems a bit much, will definetly consider down the line. Thanks for the review!
Quite the difference between them. Vantrue definitely has a clearer and better image quality all around. Thank you for the review. Will be getting a Vantrue.
Even though my past few cameras have been Viofo, Vantrue is one of my recommendations if someone can get a better deal on one. One of my friends uses Vantrue cameras and hasn't had an issue with them.
I have a Subaru OBW 2024 and the dealership technician said I can mount a dashcam anywhere since the new eyesight is fully sealed in the glass and they can’t be obstructed. Just thought I’d share.
I would def buy the cpl filter if I were going to buy this dashcam. Thanks for showing this dashcam with video footage. I think Vantrue should def upgrade rear camera to 4k too.
Good information, and I have been looking into getting a dashcam. I will def consider this one as an option, so thanks for sharing! Look forward to more of your camping adventures too. Give Pepper a good scratch from us down here in NC. :)
@@mib9647 depends on how long you need the rollover footage to be. I'd recommend 128GB for a good sweet spot. I'd also recommend getting a high endurance card. Dashcams usually automatically rewrite the oldest videos when the microsd runs out of space so you don't necessarily need to think about how much space you need. But if you want to save footage from longer trips, the more the merrier. They make 256GB high endurance cards now (didn't when I first started dashcamming. I've been using my trusty 64GB Sandisk High Endurance card for the past 8 years through 3 vehicles. Decided to splurge and order a 4k Viofo A139 Pro Duo for my new car.
I would have liked to have seen where you put the rear camera. The place that seemed best on my Outback appears to be too close to the high mounted brake light.
Vantrue N4 Pro Cables are too short by 10 to 12 inches. The rear camera really could use another 18 inches for larger vehicles. The N4 Pro is very bulky in size. Do not want or need to use the Interior camera. I like the universal ball joint as being able to swivel the camera angle. Like the innovative magnetic connection for easy removal. It is just like the regular N4 regarding Heat and Cold. The 3.19-inch IPS screen is nice but don't like the buttons as should be a touch screen but the screen really is no longer a required item. Also, it has to be mounted just below the review mirror which causes a lot of problems with new vehicles having cameras and sensors behind the rearview mirror as impairs road vision. Be careful to ensure connector/plug room for the power cable and cable to the rear camera. In certain ways, mounting the old N4 was better. N4 Pro now competes with Viofo A139 Pro since it has Starvis MX678 with HDR capability and both perform well. However, the Viofo A139 Pro is better than N4 Pro. There is no longer any need for screens on dashcams as we use our smartphones. A139 Pro has thinner cables which make routing the cable easier. Vantrue N4 Pro dashcam gets a grade of B. Viofo A139 Pro gets a grade of B plus.

Thank you so much for making this video. I just purchased this vantrue camera and also have a subaru outback. Is the install just as si.ple as what you did in this video or do I need to hardwire the camera long term?
Hi! Thanks for your support 🙏 and yes, it is that easy. I have not hard wired the camera yet, but the kit looks really simple to do as well. Just need to connect it to the fuse box. When I hard wire the car, I will make a video of it.
One item to keep in mind is how well or poorly does the dash cam take extreme heat? If a vehicle is parked out in the hot (Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, etc.) sun, those interior temperatures get well over 140 degrees.
What do you think about this setup for a pickup truck? Up high? And what about the sides of your car? What if someone sideswipes your car while youre parked think you could catch them on video? And is your cam on all the time???
I would suggest mounting up high on any car and if someone swipes the car, they have to either go forward or backwards so hopefully either camera will catch it 👍 and not currently but I am going to hard wire it.
hello im wondering if u can put front camera and inside also covers the back window better to just instal the front camera and not the rear one i mean u can see the car behind u in that thats all i need any feed back would be appreaicate
Does the vehicle this cam is installed in have to have WiFi connection in order for the dash cam to work? Do you pay a monthly subscription to use Vantrue dashcam?
I figured it out, it's not the privacy mode, but in the recording mode/resolution, you can select front and back, front only, front and cabin, or the default for all 3@@ChasingAdventuresCO
This camera has a super capacitor, which is better than a battery. It also has motion detection in parking mode, as well as rear, front or side impact sensors.
@@ChasingAdventuresCO Yep. Dual super capacitor rather than lithium ion battery. Withstands the heat better for those in warmer climates. Claims to be safe up to 158 degrees Fahrenheit. My last dash cam (different brand) warped from the heat. That's why I'm here appreciating your video.

You are correct. The Pro just has different mounting system compare to the suction cup on the non pro which fails to hold the dash cam overtime and in heat.
