Mine had a dead 17 fret and the pole prices screws on the bridge pup don't work.
Now with that said, for 250 I enjoyed that guitar to it's fullest for 3 years now.
I agree, you can get lucky or not but nothing a cheap fix can solve and you still get a lot of guitar for the price!
The list of faults on mine was too long to repeat. Parts substandard -Rout in the wrong place.
Thomann has great customer service in my experience. Has you contacted them I'm sure they'd replaced it with a new one, at no expense on your end. @@MeLexdy

I've had an SC-1000 for a few years now. I did a little cleanup on the fret ends, swapped to locking tuners just because I wanted to, and that's it. It plays awesome, sounds awesome.

Got a HB strat style guitar with an FR licensed trem for 199€ and its just awesome.
2 Years old and I haven´t had to unlocked the nut for months. Pickups are standard, not bad at all but I probably switch them soon.
I’ve owned and worked on a countless number of guitars over the years and what I can say with honestly is you do not get what you pay for any more. I have received fenders which were unplayable at 1500e and squiers, gretches, you name it with no end of issues. The question for me these days is simply do I wanna pay 1000e for those issues or 200. Simple choice, and where Harley Benton may not always measure to the pristine standard of many cork sniffers, at their core is a solid instrument which you can build on or not. Coupled with this is the excellent customer service of Thomann. I see no reason to buy any other brand any more. Yep, I’m serious!

Agree 100%!! I have a few Gibsons and an american Fender Strat.... Last year I wanted a superstrat type of guitar and I was looking for Charvels and Schecters, didn't like any of them when I tried them, they all sounded and played the same so I bought a Fender Strat and changed the pickups.... last week I decided to give HB a chance and bought one of their Supertele models... it plays and feels like all those Charvels and Schecters I had tried before. All these Ibanezes, Charvels, Jacksons and Schecters are overpriced af... you get a HB swap the pickups and you get the same guitar.
Get an RG Genesis for 900 bucks made in Japan. Absolute flawless craftmanship. The quality is only matched by my old ESP Japan custom shop.

Got the BM75 (Brian May Red Special clone), and it's fantastic. Great sound, very good playability, amazing bang for the buck.
I have recently gotten a HB headless guitar and other than needing a little setup help, it is a great playing and sounding axe.
I have the R456 FR BK, and its still my favourite guitar after more than 4 years

I got one of these and had some grounding hum issues (bridge wasn't conductive), but replaced the pickups to a EMG 57/66 set and that made the whole guitar absolutely amazing.
A lot of their V models have grounding issue. Hope they fix it soon, because otherwise its a good guitar.
I own two HB instruments: a ST-62 and a Thunderbird bass, they play great outside the box I only needed to lower the action and pickups and that’s pretty much it, both instruments sound incredible especially the strat with clean tones, the only downside would be of course the neck dive of the Thunderbird, but other than that I don’t have more complains and I’ll be adding a JB-62 soon to my HB collection

I have a Harley Benton acoustic (CG-45E) and I like it.
I picked up a WL-20 Rock series from them as a guitar to just rock around with.. It's pretty good to. It's in a WARLOCK shape and it's amazing.. Might not be the same but I'd recommend it.

I own 6 string Amarok from Harley Benton and it slays! I'm only going to change EMG Hot pickups for other active ones suitable for heavier music. Most likely from Seymour Duncan.

I have that EX84 with the EMGs. Beautiful player, but if you pull the trigger, make sure the pickups are in the right place, lol. They sometimes put the 60 in the bridge and the 81 in the neck for some reason. They are quick-plugged, so easy to swap to proper.

@nicholastagliabue4554 the color of the EMG logo on the bottom right of the pickup is lighter on the 81 and the 60 is a darker tone....I think that's the right way. Plus u can just look at the back of the pickup.

I hace a 200 harley benton strat and it feels better than my epiphone 1959 which had 2 high frets.

I like Harley Benton so much that I have two electric guitars and an amplifier from this brand. I have a Harley Benton SC-400LH SBK Classic Series B-Stock, Harley Benton Extreme-EX76 LH B-Stock and a Harley Benton MFX-20, which I really love! I can only recommend Harley Benton! Good quality and affordable too.

I have three Harley Benton Fusion III guitars - two I modded, and one I kept stock (although I did set it up). They are excellent. I also have a couple of Fenders and a Gibson. The HB guitars are the ones I play, and I honestly think they're the best production electrics I own. They are genuinely better than the big brands for me. I also have a friend who has a really expensive Gibson LP and, every time we jam, he plays one the Harley Bentons and comments on how much better he finds it. I suspect he'll get one soon ...

I'm a proud owner of a Fusion. 330€ brand new. Stays in tune. Neck like butter. And the pickups even budget ones are surprising. I got super decent tones out of them. For her price she's quite good
I have this exact guitar. Just a few minor tweaks and it plays as well or better than the $3k guitars sitting in their cases. Best two hundred bucks I’ve spent in a long time.
i think harley benton amarok is a great guitar for price looking tuners (in past even grovers) emg pickups stainless frets and great playabilty but i'm not sure about cheaper models KDH had some troubles

io ne ho avute 3 di harley benton..una custom, una gold top p90 e una les paul junior double cut.. e per il prezzo che avevano, suonavano bene ( dopo un set up totale e con la fortuna che l'hardware sia stato montato bene) soprattutto con la consapevolezza oggettiva che si parla sempre e comunque di chitarre copia a marchi che già sappiamo.. e diciamo che il discorso dovrebbe terminare li.. il problema nasce quando già le si compra in virtù di fare i paragoni o ti autoconvinci a priori che sono meglio di.....a tonnellate di post e commenti ho visto nel tempo con dibattiti ovunque, ed erano tutti mirati al paragone.. eeeh ma la mia Hb in confronto a gibson, fender ecc ecc.. li penso sia sbagliato.. suonano per quello che costano.. sicuramente, ma andare oltre, non ha senso.. il discorso, rimane soggettivo.. ovviamente

va be ma è anche giusto e comprensibile fare paragoni. Per quanto è indubbio che la chitarra da 2000 euro suonerà meglio di quella da 200 (nelle mani giuste, specifichiamolo), negli ultimi 15 anni questa differenza si è assottigliata e non di poco
Non sono d'accordo che suonino per quello che costano...suonano e sono molto ma molto meglio di quello che costano...ne ho 12 e un mio amico 9...leggo sempre lamentele di ogni tipo..quasi sempre basate su preconcetti o su affermazioni basate su interessi personali..trovatemi un commerciante di chitarre che avrà mai l' onestà di dire..wow..bella sta Harley Benton..fatta bene..mai !! 😅 E per carità, li posso pure capire..che dire...a me sono arrivate sempre senza nessun difetto particolare, né strutturale né di set up...solo l ultima arrivata una MR modern(peraltro l' ennesima chitarra sorprendente)ha il pick up al ponte un po' microfonico nulla che un liutaio con poche decine di euro non possa risolvere...una chitarra presa in offerta alla metà del prezzo, 150 euro, con un ponte Wilkinson moderno che da solo costa oltre i 60, tasti in acciaio, meccaniche autobloccanti, pick up splittabili, suonabilissima, manico e tastiera comodi e scorrevoli, suono molto bello e particolare...settata benissimo e intonatissima!! che faccio? Mi metto a fare lo schizzinoso per un pickup un po' microfonico?..una volta lessi il commento di un tipo che diceva, molto incazzato, ...se io spendo 300 euro per una chitarra PRETENDO che sia perfetta!! Nessun difetto, nessun set up da fare, deve suonare alla grande..invece leggo sempre di queste Harley Benton che si deve regolare l action, cambiare le meccaniche, i pick up etc etc con 300 euro prendo un'altra chitarra, ma mai una HB!!😂...questo commento può essere molto esplicativo e far capire l'andazzo generale su questo argomento 😊

I still own an Amarok. It's my favorite guitar and I also have much more expensive guitars.
I would have no problems recommending a Harley Benton, but personally I would stay away from the really cheap ones.

There's nothing worst than seeing a beautiful guitar but then you look at the laurel or pau ferro dry super light brown.
It just makes the guitar look so cheap.

I don't think it's a brand for beginners, I think Squier is a brand for beginners. HB makes great guitars, I have Gibsons and Fenders and last week I bought one of the "Supertele" HB fusion and it sounds great, it plays great, all the hardware is great.. you swap the pickups and you have a guitar with the same quality of 1700 dollar guitars like Charvels, Jacksons and Schecters. Honestly, expensive guitars only matter if they're unique and serve for a specific type of music, like you need a good Fender to play blues or a Gibson LP to play some stuff from the 70s.... but if you want a guitar to play metal it doesn't matter if you buy a 2k Charvel or a 500$ Harley Benton, you put good pickups on the HB and it sounds and plays just like all these overpriced superstrats.... the first thing I noticed when I played my HB was that it feels just like all the Charvels and Schecters I"ve already tried at guitar stores.
I have 4 HB guitars, they are amazing instruments, not just for the money, I own a 1995 Gibson explorer, great guitar but my HBs are just as good if not better and spec’d better in most cases. I’d suggest trying a CST24 non trem model, an SC and a Amarok series
Have only tried one, a PB20 SBK, but it was below average. The bridge saddles were all the way back and it still didn't intonate properly, so had to move the bridge back. The truss rod nut is fitted at an angle somehow so it's nearly impossible to adjust. The action was god awful and had to shim the neck, and even still, the action is high. The stock pickups were trash, upgraded those with EMGs. It sounds okay, if not a bit muddy due to the bridge having to be moved while not moving the pickups. It still feels cheap though so am upgrading to a USA made EBMM.

Mi piacciono queste tue recensioni perché sono chiare e danno tanto peso al feeling che, pur essendo la cosa più soggettiva e più difficile da trasmettere in un video, è la cosa più importante in una chitarra così economica. Se uno strumento ha pickup, elettronica o hardware scadenti con una spesa modesta si può migliorare di parecchio uno strumento. Ma se il feeling e l'estetica non ci soddisfano è dura stravolgere uno strumento. Mi piacerebbe vedere una recensione delle chitarre top di gamma Harley Benton, tipo le Fusion III, che sono superstrat magari con Floyd o comunque ponte mobile, in cui magari è più difficile mascherare difetti di strumenti economici.

I got their DC60 with a Roswell P90. It arrived with a broken neck. I noticed near the break that the finish on the guitar was about 1.5mm thick. I returned it for a refund. It seemed cursed.
People forget that wood and wire is just that, no reason to spend 3k unless you feel you have a point to prove to other people. I've owned many guitars and the eastman 59 hands down beats gibson at half the price
I myself have Harley Bentom SC Custom II FR Vintage Black, which I later on customized myself with EMG Zakk Wylde Signature pickups.
I can't be more pleased with it. :)
I only customized it, cuz I wanted to try active pickups. But the original pickups wee great too, split coil even.

Breve viaggio in tutta la roba HB che è passata per le mie mani:
- TE-52: ho avuto sempre problemi con il pickup al manico, eccessivamente debole da rendere a tratti il passaggio tramite il 5 posizioni completamente inutile, dopo alcuni anni l'ho venduta;
- una SC-1000 a cui ho fatto mille modifiche per rendere un suono migliore, che risultava sempre acido. Ho inserito Pickup attivi e cambiato elettronica oltre che a schermare la cavità dei pickup, cosa che trovo assurda...come puoi dimenticarti una schermatura? L'ho ancora ma solo perché c'ho speso troppo per venderla e non rimetterci un rene;
- basso JB-75. Partiamo dal fatto che il basso è il mio strumento principale e che all'inizio mi trovavo molto bene, ma col tempo i problemi sono venuti fuori come funghi. Tralasciando la chiavetta del LA mi si è sbriciolata in mano, ma il problema grosso erano i fret che ogni paio di mesi dovevo fare limare e sistemare perché tendevano a saltare fuori a causa della bassa qualità del legno che espandeva troppo con l'umidità, era anche saltata l'elettronica ed ho quindi deciso di vendere anche lui.
- una acustica (non so il modello) che è ottima! Mi dispiace solo non aver preso il modello amplificato, ma ottime meccaniche ed ottimo feeling.
- effetti vari: qui poco da dire, si tratta di aprire un pedale concorrente, analizzare i componenti e copiare...infatti erano tutti buoni, anche se il migliore IMHO era il delay. Venduti tutti a malincuore perché avevo necessità di cassa per passare al digitale.
Beh... Nella mia la vernice schermante era solo tempera nera, venuta via con lo straccio.... Per i pedali non mi meraviglio... HB non costruisce ma ribrandizza... Sono prodotti Caline, joyo, behringer o bugera con gli stessi difetti o pregi degli originali...
HB can be an absolute bang for the buck if you aren't unlucky in the QC lottery.
It can be upgraded to custom.

Harley Benton ha dato e dà la possibilità di fare musica anche a chi non è professionista, a chi non ha migliaia di euro da spendere, a chi è autodidatta. Guardacaso io appartengo a queste categorie, quindi VIVA HB! Non si possono fare paragoni con le marche più famose, e non è giusto farli. Una cosa in comune che ho trovato nei musicisti professionisti e nei titolari di negozi musicali tradizionali è stata una grossa avversione verso chi professionista non è, e che vuole fare musica solo come hobby, per il solo piacere di suonare la musica che gli piace. Evidentemente sono invidiosi, vogliono avere l'esclusiva, hanno paura che gli si porti via la scena!
Non potrei essere più d’accordo. I paragoni qui sono inutili e senza senso ma bisogna comunque riconoscere la validità di uno strumento che a questa cifra permette anche a chi volesse approcciarsi per la prima volta allo strumento di avere già una buona qualità e non uno strumento brutto e difficile da suonare che ti fa passare la voglia subito.

I've purchased 4 HBs and every one showed 0 signs of QA despite lot of inspected by tags. If I lived in europe I might keep trying but there are better choices out there.

Bel video e sinceramente molto onesto. Anche senza guardare il cartellino del prezzo, non si può oggettivamente dire che siano “chitarre buone solo per il camino”. Io ho fatto anni fa esattamente quanto hai detto tu a fine video, ne ho presa una solo con l’intento di modificarla, anche pesantemente, per “farla mia”, l’ho fatto, e della “Telecaster style” è rimasto solo il corpo e la placca del ponte della wilkinson, il resto (manico, pick-up, meccaniche, wiring, pot…) ho cambiato tutto. Oggettivamente con quanto ho speso, avrei potuto prendere “ampiamente” una Fender Messicana, e da un punto di vista meramente commerciale è stata sicuramente una pessima idea, la chitarra vale più smontata che intera, MA mi sono pazientemente assemblato una chitarra che incontra sin nell’ultimo dei dettagli il mio gusto, sia esteticamente, sia in termini di suono… ed alla fine, deve piacere a me :)
Sono d’accordo al 100%! Anche io ho chitarre talmente modificate che non hanno più valore commerciale diciamo ma chissene! Sono quelle che a fine dei conti mi danno più soddisfazioni e sento mie, quindi non vedo proprio perché dovrei rivenderle!
Changing the hardware isn't going to change anything by enough margin to justify the cost.
If you want to change the voicing of a guitar, you want to change the distance between the bridge and the P.U.'s.
If you know about string harmonics (if not, read up. Very informative), you know that a tiny difference (the difference between hitting or missing pinched harmonics for instance) can make a world of difference.
If you simply change a humbucker for a humbucker or a P90 for a P90, it's a waste of time (and money). You might hear a different volume/output, but that's it.
I'd still choose a kramer or ibanez for the price
Bought a harley benton te52 3 years ago. Had some serious fret sprout. Hardware was wonky. Tunerpeg died a year later. Tried to set it up. Truss rod did absolutly nothing.

i got myself their literally cheapest acoustic because i wanted to learn guitar and all i had to do is adjust the string action a bit.
oh and also like 3 frets were kinda scratchy on the sides so i fixed that with a file.
i expected to get a crappy guitar that feels like ass to play and has awful intonation, i got an okay instrument that i can just play.
i haven't really noticed any "oh god that looks awful" things on it, the finish is nice and shiny there's no obvious flaws with it.
the tuners hold tune the strings are fine.
truly the moderately priced Toyota Corolla of guitars.

The HB stuff is hit or miss, sometimes you'll get one that's good enough and others that require taking to a luthier or tech to have fretwork done

Just learn to do it yourself, so many people are so lazy they don't even try, it's not hard to do a basic setup with some basic fret filing
@Notinserviceij expecting to do that is ridiculous. There's a reason why there are experts in every field because not everyone has time or money to fiddle around with that stuff. Also, if you're a broke college student who's learning to play guitar, you think it's feasible to start messing around with the frets and other hardware, risking damaging it, making things worse. Any guitar over 200 in 2024 should at least have good frets and be set up

io ho ben 5 Harley benton e mi trovo benissimo , sarà anche perché sono un principiante quindi non ho necessità di avere uno strumento superperformante . comunque come prima chitarra da provare sei partito da un modello davvero particolare e di nicchia ; sarebbe stato più interessante sapere la tua opinione sui modelli più in voga tipo la ST62 (simil strato) o la TE 52 (simil telecaster) o infine la Sc550 (simil gibson) , magari in futuro sarei tentato di provare anche queste chitarre ,
Ne ho voluta provare una di quelle che personalmente mi piacerebbe tenere ed usare, ma arriveranno anche le altre allora!😁
