Hey,
Awesome shredding!!
Wondering if I could get your advice please?
I currently have an old 157 Freeride Inca board, which I've out grown , experience - wise a while ago and also now it boots me out on my carves.
I'm 5'11", with boots size ranging from 11.5 - 12 ( depending on the brand) .... currently I have a pair of Burtons 11.5 size - measuring 32.3cm from heel to toe.
So, am wondering which size with the Mega Merc should i get - 156W or 158W?
Tks heaps
😊
How does it compare to Arbor Candle Rain?
Hi! I am looking for advice regarding size of the Mega Mercury (155 or 157). I currently ride on a Amplid Paradigma (2010) 159. I mainly ride on groomers, carving and some jups/side hits. Sometimes powder but not often in park. I am 6" tall, weigh 170-175 LBS and have shoe size US 9. I am leaning towards the 155 due to my shoe size but do you think that I will have enough stability on higher speeds and length for carving as I come from a 159 board (flex 6, directional twin, camrocker and waist widt 250mm)? On the other side the 157 might be wide and feel to big. Thank you in advance for your advice! Kind regards, Sander
Which would handle east coast ice better, Mercury or Mega Merc? Or something else? Looking to replace my 2010 custom x
go ride north west
I have Union Strada bindings for this board do you think I can get enough from them for this board
I would recommend going to a stiffer binding. I run atlas pros and nidecker kita boot. Stiff board, stiff binding and stiff boots
Curious this or the Burton custom?
This, CAPiTA is at the cutting edge of snowboard technology and quality. Burton has been on a downward trend for the better part of the last decade.
Flex is more of a 7.
I have last year’s model. The edges on it are sharp and the hoard is probably the lightest in my quiver collection.
How do you like it in general?
@@JohnnyEase It’s a good, stiff, light-weight board. The base is fast, it’s easy to wax (3BT is a difficult) and the edges are sharp. Think of the board as a light-weight plank. My only grip with the board is i couldn’t get it in a bigger size, and I love the color scheme on the 23-24 versus the 22-23. I have a 159, and I am not feeling the silver-black-yellow-white color scheme. All white, red and black looks way better.
If you ever plan to buy it, get it from a shop. If you get it from Evo, expect it to be on backorder and it will take 5 months later to receive it because it is a popular board. On the other hand, the Capita Aeronaut will probably eat away at the Mega Merc sells, so it will have a leas severe backorder since that board basically replaced the Mega Merc for side-poppers.
@@Anukulous Thanks, very helpful. How damp is it on high speeds? And are you able to butter it? I'm a 20+ y advanced/expert rider that rode many different boards and am seeking a more aggressive, versatile board. THANKS!! Sending stoke from Switzerland
@@JohnnyEase i only rode it for a day on greens and blues at Mount Hood Oregon. I had three separate snowboards in took with me: the Burton Con Artist, Bataleon Thunderbolt, and the Mega Merc. I broke the core on the Thunderbolt on a tree-stump after i lost control near a tree-well. It made me super sad panda.
The Mega Merc is damp, but i didn’t take it on any moguls or bumpy snow. I just used it on greens and flat blues. I am going to preserve that board until i start to do big jumps and side poppers. I think the board has a good amount of carbon, but nothing crazy like the K2 Antidote or Burton Custom X.
You should look up the GoodRide on TH-cam, and the guy who host that show, he did his own in-depth review of the 22-23 Mega Merc. I am pretty sure the 23-24 is about the same.
@@AnukulousThanks. The Good Ride is oookay, but I much prefer the reviews from AngrySnowvoarder, Search of Snowboarding and Nate from SnowBoardingProfiles. I was just asking you since you own one yourself. :) Thanks and have a good one, yeeew
