Thank you, and we fully agree! We really like Bukidnon! I have issues with the combination of heat and humidity (Swede, I handle -30° better than +30°), so the view is actually just a very nice bonus. The temperature up here is 5-10° C lower than most places in the Philippines, and we usually have a nice cool breeze as well. It's very nice for me. We tried Baguio for six months, but it's crowded, moldy and almost no sun during the rainy season. High up in Bukidnon, we lack access to "stuff", but everything else is excellent! I strongly advice everyone to check out the higher altitude areas of the Philippines. No AC needed!
I really dislike wallpaper and that spray on stuff they use in Texas (at least), so yeah, this works for me. We have to cover the edges with borders or something though, so it doesn't flake/peel off.
just for future reference, that "varnish'' that comes in the little tanduay bottles. its 50/50 thinner, they buy a 16 liter of varnish and put it 50/50 with thinner in the little bottles to profit. thing is it ruins it, it evaporates so fast it becomes sticky and is all gone before you get far and then dries leaving very little actual varnish on the surface. its a real pain to work with too, i tried doing one wood kitchen drawer with it and it was all gone and a sticky mess and hardened on my brush before i finished one drawer's interior. i bought a small 10 oz. can of real varnish and did 3 doors front and back without gluing my brush to the door🤣
We actually stopped using it. Not for those reasons, but because we were told it is mainly for indoors/doesn't handle sun/rain well at all, and turns into something like milk powder after a while. Of course, there's no real varnish available anywhere near here, lol. It's either that one, or nothing. Province life ftw! 😏

i never understood why they dont screed or smooth concrete when they first pour it, they always want to come back and put more on then smooth that for some reason? my stairs were so rough they hurt your feet and i spent 3 days making forms and drilling and anchoring them on the risers and sides so all they had to do was pour a smooth 1 inch layer on top. hired a guy who works finishing concrete, thats his main gig. told him just wet the steps and pour a smooth layer on top, even with the plywood forms. do every other step so we can go up and down, then do the other steps next. after it dried and i took my forms off it looked good. 2 weeks later every other step cracked in the middle, then every OTHER step turned to sand and wore off from walking on them! so one batch had not enough cement in the mix and one had not enough sand and too much water. I DID ALL THE HARD PART. all he had to do was mix the cement and pour it on ! 😭😭😭😭
I try not to say too many bad things about crew #1, but it's sometimes difficult, lol. It's like EVERYTHING needs to be fixed afterwards. Why did I pay them 500-750 per person, when the guys charging 250 (we pay more, but that's voluntarily from our side) do a much better job? Live and learn, as usual. But so annoying!
Thank you! We're hoping to move in around mid Dec, depending on when we can get an electrician to wire us up. I've seen lose tiles so often in the Philippines, and with documented quality issues of our own, I am not a big fan. Polished concrete seems to me to be superior in every way, but I could of course be wrong. I'm not sure why tile work is so bad here, if it's due to bad grout mixture or because they usually use those huge tiles (of low Chinese quality) that crack easier. We also like the look of polished concrete, and of course it doesn't hurt that it was probably a lot cheaper! 😁
Im not a big fan of living on a literal mountain, but i swear the view you got bro is priceless 👌🏾.

i had a painting business in the US and people used to hire me to make their smooth drywall look like yours before painting ! it adds character 😄

yeah.. that karcher brand shop vac i told you about... its worth a trip to the city.
We bought a shopee vacuum, but it's at the rental place. The Kärcher ones feel like a bit overkill for us (2 rooms, one being cr).

@justaguy-69 I will consider it, in the future at least (when building starts up again for real). Thank you for the suggestion!
You can always put up a short bamboo fence to screen out the blue roof.
That or bananas, yeah, something like that will probably be the solution! 👍

They were using nylon thread to get it straight'ish. It's not perfect, but compared to what crew #1 left, it's a lot better! 😏
It’s a mess and I can really hear what you are saying.
I'm confused.
