Through Fly High MV story...they're paying homage to an actual Dreamcatcher's Spider Spirit/ Goddess of Native American lore...there's a scene where one of the member killed the spider in the bottle/ jar that happened to be a Spider Spirit Woman...and in the end, the Spider Spirit curse each one of them into various version of Nightmares & trapped them in Nightmare Realm...

Fly High
Butterflies begin the storyline, seen round Jiu, showing her life, her vitality, and most importantly the lack of a curse, the lack of evil. We begin the story at a mansion, where the girls go, perhaps on a holiday. Jiu sees a spider outside the mansion, and traps it in a Jar and brings it in, which brings the curse into the lives of the girls. Gahyeon is seen first to be taken by the curse, in a horrific event while she sleeps, surrounded by vines and foliage. We see a short clip of a version of Jiu playing the piano (this will become more important later).
Then we see siyeon, in her real self (holding the teddy bear) being taken away by Sua, who can be seen as the facilitator of the curse in the storyline. When they come back out of the woods, Siyeon is still her real self holding the teddy bear, but like a “Hansel and Gretel” story, she is lovingly coaxed by Sua into something dark and mysterious that she doesn’t know yet- the curse of the spider.
The shot at the dinner table is very important. It shows the Good side and the Bad side, indicated by the salt shakers and the books. Dami, Siyeon and Jiu are still not cursed or thrown into the nightmare. However, Gahyeon, Handong and Yoohyeon have been (more on how yoohyeon gets cursed later). Sua sits in the middle, as she is the one who is watching and even causing the girls to be cursed, one at a time. The curse of Handong is seen in the shot where the witch moves across the rooms in the mansion and immediately after handong throws a black paper aeroplane out of the same room where the witch was seen, perhaps a sort of last second SOS, leading to the scene she has later, lifeless in the bathtub.
Dami is seen reading books, perhaps she is informing herself on the things that happen in the curse, so that she can protect herself. This can be somewhat confirmed by the fact that in Goodnight, in the nightmare, Dami is still sleeping. She has found a way to protect herself initially, however this is broken when Dami, out of her own will, breaks out of the glass box she has created around herself (in her rap in You andI) to help the other girls.
Possibly the most important is the curse of yoohyeon, who burns the spider, and it is held on the account of jiu making the mistake of bringing the spider in. There is a flashback in the MV to the moment where Yoohyeon pulls Jiu away from the spider, which I think is very significant as it shows how Yoohyeon perhaps has a hint that it is dangerous but doesn’t want anything bad to happen to Jiu. Shortly afterwards, and still in a flashback, Yoohyeon herself lets her curiosity take over her, burning the spider with a lens, which starts the cascade of curses in the mansion, beginning at gahyeon. Yoohyeon is then seen in front of a mirror, a way for her to try to look for herself, which is often seen in the whole trilogy as a way for communication to happen across nightmares, but black tar consumes the mirror, which shows she has been disconnected by the curse, and also trapped in the nightmare.
Remember when we mentioned that Jiu was playing the piano? I think this is the nightmare version of Jiu. As Jiu is exploring the mansion, she finds the other version of herself, and realises what she has done in bringing the curse of the spider into the mansion. So she immediately tries to shut the gate and prevent any more of the evil from coming in. But the butterflies that were flying around Jiu have died. Sua has already mislead Siyeon while Yoohyeon Gahyeon and Handong are already trapped. Yoohyeon, bearing the start of the curse of the spider, is already free and outside the gate that Jiu tried to contain her in. The final scene of Sua stabbing the iconic “nightmare photograph” of the girls further confirms to me that Sua is some sort of “storyline facilitator” or “narrator”, and that she has played the key role in causing the girls to be cursed.

Chase me
The next part of this storyline is when the nightmare hunter is sent to find out what happened to the girls in the mansion. This is confirmed by what yoohyeon said in a vlive. In the image where the nightmare hunter is seen circling Gahyeon on the nightmare picture, the pencil breaks. The nightmare hunter is trying to find the cause, perhaps trying to find out about Sua’s involvement, but isn’t any closer by circling Gahyeon, signified by the breaking of the pencil. In a short still, we see Sua holding Siyeon’s hand, which links back directly to their scene in Fly High. This shows that Sua has indeed captured siyeon.
In an important scene, Dami is seen to be lying down in the middle of all the girls, sua notably in the middle of the ring they form around Dami. This relates to how Dami defended herself by reading about the curse in Fly High. Perhaps this scene is them (especially Sua) calling to Dami to be with them, to partake in being nightmarish with them. And it succeeds to some extent, as Dami joins the circle, and raps the lines “seven little presents every day”, however she is still further apart from this curse than the rest.
Each of the girls act as their own nightmare to the Nightmare Hunter. They toy with him, and torment him. Sua is seen with a pendulum. Handong is a ghastly figure on a table underneath a moving light. Jiu is seen as a ghost thrown across a pillow in the corridor. Siyeon torments his door and locks him in. Gahyeon throws books across the floor. Yoohyeon is seen tormenting the corridor and adding to the mystery of room 808. However, the Nightmare hunter has evidence. And he analyses it, and as is his profession, he finds out the origin, that being room 808. And he knows he needs to get in to trap them, because he realises in here is how they do their work. This is the photo room of the chase me mansion. This is the room where the girls are seen in the final part of the moving having fun with “pillows”, having fun with sleep, having fun creating nightmares. And the hunter has found the source- the nightmare photograph that Sua herself left a mark on in Fly High.
Good Night
Here we get introduced to the “nightmare book”, the book where the timeline and evidence is held for how the girls were cursed. The nightmare hunter finds it, and with a lot of other evidence, he begins to trap the girls in the nightmare together, so that he can finish what he came there to do- stop the girls from invading people’s dreams. The first that he is seen to trap is Gahyeon, as soon as he opens the book she is seen falling. Later we see him rapping Sua in the vines, and Yoohyeon and Siyeon in the forest.
Jiu however sees that he has trapped Gahyeon and is a powerful force to be reckoned with, so she prepares with Handong and Dami to not be trapped themselves and to free the others who he has trapped. Dami is seen with Handong in a library, collecting perhaps knowledge on how to do this. With this knowledge that the three of them have then, they begin once again to torment and mock the hunter, perhaps implyling messages like “ha! You think you’ve won” and “we’re still out here- you’re not done yet!”.
And so the three of them take the book, through the mirror (which is now becoming a strong symbol for the communication between nightmares and real life). They burn the pages of the book, starting at Sua’s entrapment, setting fire to the vines that have entrapped her and setting her free that way. The wallpaper of room 808 is seen to burn, showing that the Nightmare hunter’s work is being reversed, the room he’s in has papers flying around him, and so, finally, he is seen, trapped in the mirror. Trapped where he aimed to trap all the 7 girls. But through teamwork in the nightmare, they saved each other.
The final scene shows the girls leaving the nightmare hotel, leaving the nightmare hunter trapped with no hope of escaping, every time he falls asleep he will be tormented by nightmares, whatever he does. This is the last we’ll hear of him.
The girls move through the forest that they were chased through, looking for the next place for them to stay and torment people, which will be at the You and I mansion, and on the way they drop the book. This book has in it perhaps more than was shown in Goodnight, and by dropping this book, the girls lose part of what they can use to combat their own nightmare world, and they lose perhaps the missing link to what is needed to save Yoohyeon in You and I.
"Fly High" is a prequel, basically the story of how the girls got trapped in the dreamworld to begin with. So, you're spot on about that. Dreamcatcher is amazing and all their songs are great. For a long time my favorite song of theirs was "Deja Vu." It was fairly quickly superseded when I really dove into their discography after the release of "Boca," though. I'm not sure I really can pick a favorite anymore. I listen to "Boca," "Odd Eye," and "Piri" a lot these days, I really like "Breaking Out," and then there's all their side-tracks and special clips. "Break the wall" is among my favorites.
"Prequel" is the name of the third album, so you're spot on :)
Also, as a warning, I feel that the next few title tracks are more abstract, and somewhat more loosely tied to the storyline
Facts. The story has never been spelled out by Dreamcatcher Company so it's totally up for personal interpretation.

My favorite part of this whole bit is that the mini-album is called 'Fall Asleep in the Mirror'.... they trap him in Good Night, then sing him a Lullaby and leave him there. The spook is real

It is a prequel! The album is called Prequel! The story is that they were at a creepy boarding school run by evil people so they felt trapped. (They filmed Fly High at a haunted mansion in France!) They trap and torture a spider who is actually a powerful spirit who traps them in the alternate nightmare reality which makes them sort of like ghosts. Then they swap places with the ghost hunter in Good Night and those masked people are probably the evil people from Fly High who had a secret cult in the school. So basically in the Nightmare Series they keep trying to escape from the different nightmare worlds they find themselves in while trying to outrun the spider spirit. The Nightmare series in korean comebacks goes up to Piri but it also includes their Japanese song Breaking Out. The japanese songs follow the same lore except for Eclipse which was an anime intro. After Piri, Deja Vu is a stand alone story (like BEcause and Rose Blue). Then Scream, Boca, and Odd Eye are the Dystopia trilogy. I like the lore from the Nightmare Series but the Dystopia lore is so interwoven into choreo and everything that it feels more? Satisfying?
Some people try and fit the stand alone stories into the lore but they don't really fit in. The closest one would be BEcause but it mainly just has a lot of visual references to the two different stories, like masks and mirrors etc. But its based on the film Us so it has a ton references to that movie in the mv and choreography.

What - Piri [Breaking out - Japanese release, alternative ending]
So, it all started when JiU caught a spider in Fly high mv. After she put the spider in her room, you can see that Yoohyeon killed the spider with a magnifying glass. So they got cursed by the spider lady and become nightmares. This a twist from the orignal myth of a dreamcatcher, where goddess of spider gave it to the native Americans in return of not killing the spider. The members got corrupted one by one(you can see it clearly by Gahyeon in the bed scene and Handong in the bathtub scene). JiU notices that they are becoming nightmares. So she runs to close the gate to stop the members(the nightmares) spreading to the world.
In fly high, there are many symbols. 'Mirror' is an object that reflects your inner self, so when Yoohyeon touched the mirror, the black watery thing came out because she was corrupted. Also, it is and object to find out whether they are in the reality or not. JiU sees a reflection of herself(more like an doppelganger) and realizes she is in an nightmare.
The scene of JiU with the butterfly means that their became nightmares since butterfly is a common symbol for sprits, so the butterflies burned up can mean that their spirts are corrupted.
Then the place where they lived in fly high was abandoned, and after some time the guy comes to catch the nightmares(chase me) but the members catch him instead and lock him up in the nightmare(good night).
Breif(since you didnt watch it) storyline for the following 3 mvs
-You and I : what happened after they escaped from the nightmare in good night
- What : how two main characters of this saga, JiU and Yoohyeon were after the major event in You and I (you'll see 😎)

More about the storyline
They gave him nightmares so he would leave. The girls had been stuck there since fly high trying to rescue Yoohyeon and themselves. In fly high JiU was away to run out the gate but changed her mind and locked them all in there. That’s also why they were looking at spell books etc at the end of fly high.
The door he couldn’t get into was a room that held ways for him to get to the girls. When he smashed down the door and saw their picture he realised he’d now found the way to get them and that’s why he smiled. The pillow fight was them giving him good dreams to try him coming for them but it didn’t work.
In goodnight he then used the book to get to each member. Yooh and Siyeon were being chased through the woods, SuA was trapped in those vines thing, Gahyeon was falling. But the other members managed to get the book back and save the members that were in trouble and then trap him instead. They were then all free other than Yooh who was still having issues after the fly high spider thing and the following MV’s are them trying to save her
@@algordo7 As I know, Dejavu, BEcause (official comeback) is not connected with any other stories, and Rose blue wasnt an official comeback, just an collab event, so it isnt connected with nightmare series ( this was even released after Scream)
A theory channel I like is "SuA's SinB", they have been doing stuff for multiple groups, recently mostly for Loona. They have a small series of videos about the Nightmare Series and another for the Dystopia Series. The videos are quite long, but it's worth it, as they are well put together and cover some of the more popular theories about the storyline.

Ok from what I understand of this part of the nightmare series
There are two arcs to the Nightmare Series. One being the Origin, and two being the Modern Nightmares.
Arc 1 is the Origin: fly high, chase me, goodnight, and you and i
Arc 2 Modern Nightmares: What, Piri and you could also count Breaking Out
So...
Fly High (The girls get cursed into Nightmares by the Spider Queen due to Yoohyeon's actions)
Chase Me (The girls mess with the Nightmare Hunter)
Good Night (The Nightmare Hunter captures half of the girls, but the girls ultimately escape with the Nightmare book that caught them, but lose it after escaping the Hunter.)
And next would be you and i but i will leave it till here :)
So their Nightmare story line has a pretty interesting story I'm not giving it away but I will say this, keep and eye out for the spider through put the story.
The women in the black outfits in Good Night are evil demons/ghosts/zombies conjured up by the guy to capture the Dreamcatchers. If you freeze frame on their faces, take a screenshot, then zoom in you can see their faces. They aren't alive.
Since you liked Good Night, it should be noted that the big DC news this week is that a one-year-old k-rock gg called Rolling Quartz will be covering it in an MV of their own to be released this coming Tuesday (2/8/2022). Those of us who particularly enjoy the rock side of DC are looking forward to it. Rolling Quartz are from a much smaller company, but they are really good to their fans with fairly frequent free streaming concerts, and they obviously are fans of DC.
I love it when someone discovers my girls and falls in love. I am so happy.
FUN FACT in the end of good night and fly high the girls are using a black cape, you can have it with the lightstick. I love it so much!
P.S Good Night is the one with the doll dance you did see on the guide. It's an amazing choreography. You should try the practice.
In Good Night, the guy is casting spells on the ghosts using the book through the photo of them he found at the end of Chase Me. Page depicting falling, he makes Gahyeon falling. Page depicting grappled limbs, he captures SuA. When they get the book back and burn the page you see SuAs trap burning as the magic fades. The hooded figures represent danger coming after them as the guy starts using the Book on them, but at the end they have trapped him in the boarding school so they can leave; you can see what happens after in What and Piri. Fly High and You And I show the story of what led up to Chase Me.

I'm amazed every time how well you interpret most of their MVs, don't stress much about the storyline because there are multiple theories out there. I'm sure many commented already the more popular ones.

Before I start ranting, I want to say thank you for the continued Dreamcatcher love. It's always appreciated. By all means, I'm not a master of theory, but I can point out a few things and gripe about one thing because it doesn't make sense to me.
- We got to see some references to their assigned nightmares in Goodnight and Fly High. Being lost (Yoohyeon - Siyeon was leading her through the dark forest so she was preventing Yoohyeon's Nightmare, I guess.), Falling (Gahyeon), Restraint (SuA), Being stared at (Handong), Being chased (JiU). I don't think they explicitly address Dami's and I know they don't address Siyeon's. Wish they would have done some more in Chase Me, but I understand the message was more important at that time.
- In regards to Gahyeon in Fly High, there is apparently possession as part of the plot? I'm not terribly well versed in that segment of it, but yeah. The spirit apparently possesses them one by one. The supporting evidence is their change in attitude, behaviors, the explicitly shown change in demeanor in Yoohyeon's closeups, and that particularly creepy moment when Handong throws her paper airplane and you can see two of the girls in the bottom right corner window staring her ass down. Creepy.
- My only gripe that I see a lot of theories talk about is the guy in Chase Me & Goodnight. I've seen people call him a "Nightmare Hunter" and that he "captured" SuA. That's why they had to burn the page. Personally, I think that's some 'ole bullshit. They were already trapped in the Nightmare at that time, why would he need to trap them again. I think that was only to show what the Nightmares assigned to the girls looked like because if he trapped SuA and they freed her, are we also just assuming that they freed Gahyeon? If so, then we can go ahead and assume a whole bunch of other shit too then. I know I'm probably missing something, but to me he didn't seem like he knew what the fuck he was doing at all in either video because they dunked on his dreams and then tricked his dumb ass into making the book accessible to them. I think that they lured him there. In Chase Me when he first arrives, we see him drawing a picture of the girls with a pencil. He drew that. During Dami's segment of the video, we see them performing a ritual involving the dreamcatcher and the doll that JiU was holding at the beginning of the video. Seeing as we know from Goodnight that they can still do some magic in the Nightmare, I think it's totally possible to believe that they summoned him there. This can be backed up with knowing that his drawing of the girls is the portrait of them, hence the smirking when he finds it. Why him in particular? No fucking clue. I don't know. I just don't believe the narrative that he was a big baddie. I think he was a tool the entire time. A means to their ends. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. This is the complete story of Dreamcatcher storyline part 1
Fly High
Butterflies begin the storyline, seen round Jiu, showing her life, her vitality, and most importantly the lack of a curse, the lack of evil. We begin the story at a mansion, where the girls go, perhaps on a holiday. Jiu sees a spider outside the mansion, and traps it in a Jar and brings it in, which brings the curse into the lives of the girls. Gahyeon is seen first to be taken by the curse, in a horrific event while she sleeps, surrounded by vines and foliage. We see a short clip of a version of Jiu playing the piano (this will become more important later).
Then we see siyeon, in her real self (holding the teddy bear) being taken away by Sua, who can be seen as the facilitator of the curse in the storyline. When they come back out of the woods, Siyeon is still her real self holding the teddy bear, but like a “Hansel and Gretel” story, she is lovingly coaxed by Sua into something dark and mysterious that she doesn’t know yet- the curse of the spider.
The shot at the dinner table is very important. It shows the Good side and the Bad side, indicated by the salt shakers and the books. Dami, Siyeon and Jiu are still not cursed or thrown into the nightmare. However, Gahyeon, Handong and Yoohyeon have been (more on how yoohyeon gets cursed later). Sua sits in the middle, as she is the one who is watching and even causing the girls to be cursed, one at a time. The curse of Handong is seen in the shot where the witch moves across the rooms in the mansion and immediately after handong throws a black paper aeroplane out of the same room where the witch was seen, perhaps a sort of last second SOS, leading to the scene she has later, lifeless in the bathtub.
Dami is seen reading books, perhaps she is informing herself on the things that happen in the curse, so that she can protect herself. This can be somewhat confirmed by the fact that in Goodnight, in the nightmare, Dami is still sleeping. She has found a way to protect herself initially, however this is broken when Dami, out of her own will, breaks out of the glass box she has created around herself (in her rap in You andI) to help the other girls.
Possibly the most important is the curse of yoohyeon, who burns the spider, and it is held on the account of jiu making the mistake of bringing the spider in. There is a flashback in the MV to the moment where Yoohyeon pulls Jiu away from the spider, which I think is very significant as it shows how Yoohyeon perhaps has a hint that it is dangerous but doesn’t want anything bad to happen to Jiu. Shortly afterwards, and still in a flashback, Yoohyeon herself lets her curiosity take over her, burning the spider with a lens, which starts the cascade of curses in the mansion, beginning at gahyeon. Yoohyeon is then seen in front of a mirror, a way for her to try to look for herself, which is often seen in the whole trilogy as a way for communication to happen across nightmares, but black tar consumes the mirror, which shows she has been disconnected by the curse, and also trapped in the nightmare.
Remember when we mentioned that Jiu was playing the piano? I think this is the nightmare version of Jiu. As Jiu is exploring the mansion, she finds the other version of herself, and realises what she has done in bringing the curse of the spider into the mansion. So she immediately tries to shut the gate and prevent any more of the evil from coming in. But the butterflies that were flying around Jiu have died. Sua has already mislead Siyeon while Yoohyeon Gahyeon and Handong are already trapped. Yoohyeon, bearing the start of the curse of the spider, is already free and outside the gate that Jiu tried to contain her in. The final scene of Sua stabbing the iconic “nightmare photograph” of the girls further confirms to me that Sua is some sort of “storyline facilitator” or “narrator”, and that she has played the key role in causing the girls to be cursed.

youre right bout fly high that its a prequel ahaha its definitely is, and its the title of the album, if u got a bit confuse of fly high, u will definitely have a bit harder on the next 3, but i think u will enjoy them also.

I don't have a whole lot to say cuz I'm pretty burnt out, other than all of these songs have made the playlist and I'm falling even deeper in love with Dreamcatcher and their whole horror-film concept (especially Good Night---the dark forest aesthetic is totally my thing, plus Yoohyeon, I think its Yoohyeon, has that black cherry Inception/Thanxx Jongho hair 😍). Also this is the first girl group that I've seen have a storyline. So glad that I can add another girl group to my stan list! 💜

I recommend reacting to insomnicsy’s this is- series. There’s a 7 min video on each member and it shows off their personalities really well. They also have videos like ‘dreamcatcher saying questionable things’ where it’s just full of ot7 being messy🤣 insomnicsy is like the god of dc content🤣 It’s worth looking through and seeing which videos on there interest you🙂 Their personalities are just as amazing as their music and the difference between them on and off stage is huge🤣
I also recommend checking out Dreamcatcher mind. There’s quite a lot of eps (10 I think) but even if you don’t react to them all they’re worth checking out. They just do loads of fun things. Playing among us, haunted house challenge, getting drunk, hypnosis, some shooting game etc. They’re really fun to watch.
I recommend the R.o.S.E Blue MV too. The storyline is really cool. The song is also really different as it was made for a game collab. Dc are also having a comeback soon!!

i would say, don't stress too hard on the storyline, as it will get more confusing as you go. there will be a lil something from each video that comes up on another. I just look at it as a rollercoster ride, just feel the thrill of it cus it will be awesome reguardless. but i'll explain some things, the spider they caught in fly high, thats where thier curse started. Hence why you see the cutesie school girl outfits. then it turns more dark going towards the end of the video. You asked who Jiu was running from, she was running from herself, when she open that door and saw herself. Jiu is always running lol in most of the videos, sometimes i wonder what she running from too lol. Also it was said that the spider is what cursed them and turned them into nightmares, each girl represents a different type of nightmare. i used to know which girl is which nightmare, but i forgot. The spider's cure was so significant because "Curse of the Spider" is the name of a B-side of their "Raid of Dreams" album. Great reaction, love going down the rabbit hole over again along with new DC fans.

3:06 I think that's exactly their intention, that's what I always think at least. Especially with such a different concept and after the changes they went through in their reformation, they really had to say "you can't fit us in a frame, this is who we are, you can't stop us".
I feel like most people focus on the story of MVs (understandable), but I always think their lyrics actually tell an entirely separate story. They're just really good at mashing the two together.
Something I think people often don't notice/mention about Good Night; when they're tossing all the paper around the room at the end, right after they lit that one page on fire, and then you see Siyeon and Yoohyeon in the mirrors but the walls around the mirrors are burning, that means it's not _their_ side that's on fire. They didn't just trap him on the other side of the mirror, they trapped him in a burning room. I.. don't think he's coming back.
I've seen people have different theories about what really started the darkness. Like when Dami is reading the books for example, maybe that means they started playing with dark forces, and since spiders can be seen as protectors, when Yoohyeon burned the spider, that took away the last of the protection they had.
On the other hand, at 14:09 we see JiU looking at the spider, apparently just after she put it down, and then we see a hand grab hers and lead her away. That's when dark things start happening. But at 17:01 we see that scene again, but this time we can see it's Yoohyeon who leads her away and then burns the spider. Then soon after JiU's butterflies (could be a representation of beauty/innocence/goodness?) also burn. So I think the burning of the spider actually happened near the beginning, it's just not revealed until later.
So I favour the theory that burning the spider is what actually started the darkness, and maybe Dami was lured to that bookcase, and Yoohyeon was lured to that mirror that started leaking black goo.
Of course it's fun that things can always be interpreted in different ways ^_^

most of the theories you will find don't very much match what you can see going on in the videos. The story is pretty much all there in the lyrics of the first three videos. I would only point out that they start having the nightmares that they will become before the spider is killed.
On a side note, when the investigator in the first video enters the room and sees the group picture, is that the same wallpaper that is in the room behind the mirror in the second video?
