@@Vize_Iron Sounds like she needs alot more exercise than she's getting. If she's tried then she'll sleep rather than become destructive. There is NEVER a reason to beat a dog. Ever. I do understand, I'm a dog trainer. My girl (in my profile pic) was destructive and used to snatch food right out of your hand. So, I began walking her more often and for longer. I also taught her a solid "leave it" and now I can leave a plate of food with her unattended and she won't bother with it. I literally just clicker trained her. Took a few weeks, but now she's pretty perfect. I'd offer to take her but I'm in England and probably a million miles away from where you are. If you set out clear rules, the dog will follow them when they have a proper understanding of what they are. Dogs are pleasers, use that to your advantage.
@@Vize_Iron Okay, okay. I see what's going wrong. First off, a behavioural scientist proved a few years again that beating a dog doesn't work. They're not quite cognitive enough to understand WHY they're being beat so instead they think that the person just doesn't like them. Meaning the behaviours that aren't acceptable continue. Say toilet training, let the dog out regularly and keep a close eye on them, the moment they start sniffing around, let them out, wait for them to go and when they do reward them with a toy or treats or praise (whatever they like best) and they'll begin to ask to go out when they have to go, takes time and patience. But trust me, punishment doesn't work hence why the dog is still doing annoying things. Are you in America btw?
Sides of ME I do. She runs and gets someone if I'm having one of those. She takes her vest off (her vest is what has the leash), and runs for someone. Her collar has info on what to do if she runs up to you
Sides of ME It took forever, though. She broke her first two vests while we were learning. I had to buy one off of Amazon for her to wear. She unbuckles it, slips out of it, and just goes after a nearby adult, then paws them until they follow her.
I really thought the dog was going to eat her food since he was staring at it so hard but when she fell asleep the dog had genuine concern for her and as soon as she woke up back to staring at the food.. cute doggie🧡🧡
Yeah, I also think the dog was just watching her movements. She was sitting still and calmly assessing owner's movements. There is no way it's begging...
I have a service dog trained through Delta. Her name is Zeba and she has been a absolute lifesaver for my narcolepsy. She saves me from some of the after shock hallucinations and is always there for me. She always signals me before I have some of my attacks and makes me sit down and lays across my legs. Before I got her I once fell asleep on a street corner and fell into the road.
I Thank God everyday for our service animals, they are truly God sent. I am grateful for mine, aswell as those who are helping and saving lives daily 🙏. Keep up the marvelous work pups, you are Loved and very much needed in this world..
I am so happy that we have dogs to enrich our lives. I don't have narcolepsy, but my dog is amazing in a different way. I am a caregiver and sometimes miss out on a lot of sleep. When I lay down, my dog lays with me and stays quiet and she even lets me sleep in (when I can) and she has an amazing bladder! I taught her to ring the bell mounted on the wall by the door for potty breaks and she has learned to not use it during quiet time! Now, when I am awake and it's daytime, she will drive me nuts with the bell as she thinks I am her butler. I love this dog with all of my heart!

as a teen who has narcolepsy and cataplexy I find this amazing, I have said to myself if my narcolepsy gets worse I will try to get a service dog as I fall asleep on public transport which is a risk
That’s my worry. As I’ve gotten older, mine has gotten worse. I’m now on medication, but still have moments. My concern is public places too. I have kids. An though they know how to help me, I’m also concerned for their safety with me. I don’t let my condition stop me, like I homeschool and home maker. I do find it gives me the ability to manage myself better. I also have very mild cataplexy. I was recently diagnosed. But I always struggled, just never had a name to it. An it’s a genetic thing. So my Grandfather had it and got worse with age. To where he did fall asleep behind the wheel.
Mine will respond as soon as my eyes close, or I start staring (my microsleeps look like absence seizures). He will repeatedly nudge my hands, then my face, then woof at me if I'm still not waking up.
Kudos to the extremely loyal & well-trained dog. The owner could have been more supportive of the dog, at least some positive praise and/or acknowledgement of a job well done rather than just pushing it off her lap, no appreciation. After all, that's what they live for; us; our love and acceptance. Goes to show how long this dog has been a service animal; doesn't need treats, & does it out of pure love.

I need a service dog for my cataplexy attacks, because I have status cataplecticus, which means I have many overlapping and unusually long cataplexy attacks. I've had many horrible things happen to me while having status cataplecticus attacks alone at my children's school, at the grocery store, and on the city bus, etc. I don't know why, but in the past people thought, especially medical professionals, I was pretending to be paralyzed to get attention. You're at people's mercy when you can't move, keep your eyes open, or talk, and the more they say or do to terrorize you/me into a reaction the longer my attacks last. Now I rarely leave my house, and I never go anywhere alone, because I'm too afraid of what could happen if I'm by myself and have an attack in public.
