Just so I'm understanding this. You can add someone outside of the domain as a guest user which allows them to see the website. But You can't have your website be open for the public, for example as a training website to be seen by anyone. I'm asking because I'm doing a SharePoint training soon and I want to verify that this is correct.
@TeacherCast both are correct. You can share externally to non authenticated users via a sharing link. It is not possible to surface the SharePoint site via a google search but you don’t need to have a guest account created.
What does the 'Primary admin' role do exactly? We have a load of sites where someone who has left is the Primary admin, so what happens when we disable his account??

Nothing will happen if you disable his account, but a primary site collection admin basically cannot be locked out of anything on that site 👍
