    Thanks for the helpful hints. Filing the pads was the right thing to make them slide better.

    Nice video RB. A few points. I noticed when you took off the caliper the pads only had one of those spreader clips, (not sure that's what you call them) should have two and you only put one back at the end. Make sure when you buy pads that it has 4 of those.
    I also use a cheap hanger to hang the caliper when working on the brakes. (wish i had your lift, would be so much easier)
    The screws that hold the rotors on are not phillips, they are JIS screws (Japanese Industrial Standard) so its important to use a JIS screwdriver. I put anti seize on screws when putting back on.
    I put a little grease on the two spacer/shims to hold while putting back together also, it helps.
    The file on the pad ends to make fit better was a good idea. I also put a littler grease on those ends also, is that OK?
    thanks

    *_Thanks for making a clear easy to follow video._* So, after watching this I'm pretty sure I can do this on my own but I'm wondering about compressing the piston back into the caliper. I really don't wanna buy a professional caliper tool set. Can't I just use a C clamp or a compression tool instead? *_Thanks for your help much appreciated !!!_*

    Great video, very detail. Do you need to bleed off some brake fluid to compress the piston in?

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No need bleeding but ur ur reserva is over filled it might over flow then u might have to take some out of that

    There's usually 2 seperator springs for the front and rear wheels brake pads. You only placed 1 separator spring on the rear brake pads ?
    Grease both brake pads EARS, moving parts that snaps on the abutment clips.

    Is it possible to compress piston without opening bleeder valve but fluid reservoir cover open on ABS system, for same model?

    If the piston does not rotate back then that means it needs replacement/rebuilding correct?

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup then it means it’s jammed up

    • @andrewmcvicar6441
      @andrewmcvicar6441 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@christpherhall2735 Front and rear bracket bolts 80 ft/lbs. Front pin bolts 37 ft/lbs. Rear pin bolts 17 ft/lbs. That's for the EX 4 cylinder at least. They might be different depending on the trim level. The EX has larger front brakes than the others. I think the rears are all the same, though.
