    OMG all of my years of doing all kinds of sports and you are the first person to ever give the most straightforward definition of what "engaging your core" means. Thank you so much for that. What an excellent teacher you are.

    I’ve been trying to get better for months and no one could tell me how to build my grip other than “keep doing it and you’ll get stronger” - but I’m also a heavier woman. I can do yoga and Capoeira and used to do silks but couldn’t figure this out. Thank you sooooo much

    I'm nearly six months into pole training. You're the first person I've come across who acknowledges the risk of injury with such straightforward honesty!

    • @JessaJaguar

      Thank you so much for saying that!!! Sometimes I worry my honesty is too much and the negativity will deter people...but I really just want people to help people prevent injuries, so they can enjoy pole as long as possible 😍 I really appreciate you!

    Please, show us how to train up for inversions, specifically the helicopter one (when you use your traps to lean on the pole). This grip video is awesome! It's nice to have goal and understanding of what is actually needed strength wise to pole dance!

    Awesome tips! Can I do these on a static pole? My home one doesn't spin.

    • @JessaJaguar
      @JessaJaguar  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, absolutely! Three options for static pole:
      1) Instead of walking, stay in place. But definitely making sure to properly engage by using the same push/pull method.
      2) After you've reached "death grip" status, back it off just smidge so you're still squeezing and engaging but you have enough mobility with the grip to walk without ripping the skin off your palms.
      3) If you're doing multiple reps (ex: 3 sets of 10 sec holds), you can alternate a combination of 1&2 😁
      Let me know how this works for you!
