I am disabled and i thank you deeply for sharing processes that make the leather craft easier in addition to sharing the manual techniques. Laser cutter, 3d printer, its all very expansive, but for someone like me with painful hands, that come... Handy. (yeah i stole your pun)
Oh my GOD my man... I haven't used a bead roller since I worked on Warcraft (slides in with a name drop) and part of it was always because of the cost with the damn rollers.. that's genius! Big thumbs up for something that should have been so obvious. :)
To the people that cry and complain about the use of fancy tools, don't kid yourselves. The armorers and leather workers of old would have definitely used those fancy tools if they were available to them. Why would they not? Precision work at a fraction of the time would mean better prices for customers better profits for the crafter all without jeopardizing quality.
Because it’s an art. The point of the art is the artist. Taking out all the precision work and replacing it with a machine defeats the point of art. Like digital “painters”
@@Davai_ But the work the blacksmiths did before the new fancy tools was also precision work, it was just more complicated and more time consuming to accomplish. As for the new machines and tools, you still need to be an artist with that blacksmithing skill to make quality stuff. A shitty blacksmith will still be a shitty blacksmith no matter what tools or machines they have access to, just like a shitty painter will still be shitty even with top quality paints, brushes and canvas.

I have a 3d printer and I was super excited to see your printed forming tools. I always was jealous seeing you use the metal ones, and I wouldn’t have thought of printing one. The next time I make something formed, I fully intend to go print some forming tools! Thank you for that, and keep experimenting with it!

well if you had a 3d printer you can just 3d print the tips and fit them to your rotation device tools like a dremmel had bits for a full set im assuming thats the direction your going in with your custom tips to speed up the production

Just do a test grid using light burn, only way to get accurate results due to variables.

This is a cheeky comment but what cutting values do you input to cut actual leather. I mostly cut P.U and don’t want to buy leather only to destroy it with my own incompetence.

Is there a way for folks that don’t have a computer and printer setup, to order a paper copy of the plans?

I'm a Leather hobbiest and have a 3D Printer... I feel like a Laser Cutter would complete the trifecta and tie all my hobbies together. I'm in an apartment though. How difficult would it be to box this in with a carbon filter to vent?

Awesome video Prince! Its like watching Magic! For the striations on the gauntlets... instead of using the burnishing tool or a custom tool, could you also cut the striations using a swivel knife?

7:00 the tip about the plastic bags is great! Just don't leave them there for weeks, otherwise white mold will grow on it. But this can be easily wiped off and treated with a water and acidic solution if caught in time. Just case it for the working time that you have, then leave it out to air dry if not working on it. Cheers.

Yes but only if you already know your way around working with metal. Some of the assembly/crafting techniques differ between foam, leather, and steel/metal.
