What a very underated game. My sister got it recently for free on the ps4 (she got it because she's obsessed with vampires) and so I decided to play it aswell. I am still working through the game but so far, it is definitely a fav.
I liked it too got the platinum trophy in this game. The atmosphere was unmatched. Even though it has gameplay issues and horrendous load times. It's still an awesome game

Considering the budget this game is an absolute masterpiece under any point of view, i loved the atmosphere, the twisting plot, the intervals during the inception of a quest between investigation and combat
The budget was relatively reasonable. The developers were experienced and developed for many other well-known games such as Life is Strange(before Vampyr) and Life is Strange 2 (after Vampyr) They even worked with Capcom. The publishers have published a plethora of games, some successful some not so much. Their budget was also good. Combining those two means they had a perfectly reasonable budget for this game, great management and decent number of employees.
13:48 the way that bridge to london sets the tone for the rest of the game is amazing I loved crossing a bridge to a dying, neglected city in the dead of night after becoming a newly turned vampire and as you walk across you can see the whole city skyline and not to even mention the air of mystery it gives off it makes you feel like your being watched the way across the bridge. This is one of the best moments of the game for me and an absolute amazing soundtrack to go along with it
When I started the game, I was interested where it was going, but then I began to get bored a little, thinking "wow, too many cut scenes I'm not even playing that much." But I chose to stay a little longer, and I'm very happy I did because it turns out that it is by far one of the best games I've played (still currently playing.)
I hope a second game will emerge sometime. This game is a masterpiece in it's own class. A game where the atmosphere is so dense you can cut through it. It has some flaws maybe, but the interesting aspects and potential outweigh it by far imho. Mostly it's the gameplay which needs enhancement but also has a unique basis.

Finally, I have found McCullum's boss theme. That ost was very eerie and they way it builds up really amps up and intensifies the battle. One of the best battles I ever had in Vampyr.

The first game i platinumed. Some flaws in the game , mainly that you could not look at an ai during dialouge and take it serious with the animations, but otherwise insane vibes and innovative social impact approach. A sequel would be insane.
I have my gripes with this game (mostly the lack of ability to really interact with much outside of eating people, and a couple of the writing choices) but good goddamn is it still one of my favourite games regardless. The things it does well (the characters, the morality system, the atmosphere, the music, the morality system, the vampire mechanics, and did I mention the morality system?) are all knocked absolutely out of the park and it's epic.

i wanted to be a werewolf... SO if they make "Werewolf" i'm going to be happy... but all jokes aside... it's an interesting game so far, the combat is alright.. if you sort of roleplay during it it's even better, i like to fight and move like a true predator, even suddenly go invisable to the get that sweet sneak attack on them...
2:17:39 gives me CHILLS! this game and soundtrack are AMAZING! I hope they make a sequel where we play as a turned Geoffery Mccullum and continue his story, he's by far my favorite character in the game.
The one saving grace that elevates this game is the atmosphere and parts of the story. I can feel the game developers limitations and I’m glad they knew where to really focus given their lack of resources.

I've played this game so many times. I just can't get enough. My favourites: A friend Industrial landscapes Skals in the Morgue The Lady (the combination, Oboe and synth+ organ) Beneath London To Whitechapel Just to Mention a few, that combination of modern Synthesizer and woodwinds, violin, etc classical instruments is just phenominal 😄🤩.... I love it 🤩
I loved pretty much everything about this game. I've heard people complain about the controls/gameplay, and while it does take some getting used to, it didn't take longer for me than other new games. Most characters were top tier, as was the story and atmosphere. The only downside for me was the romance, which I just didn't buy, it felt very forced, especially towards the end when it seems to be the driving force behind lot of the decisions.

Great game to a point, was really invested in it. Though it suffered to shit at the final act. Felt like they had to force in a plot and characters that should have been introduced more gradually, and even then it didn't make total sense. But the soundtrack, by the gods, is amazing.

I wanted to play the game for quite some time now, but I never could buy it before since it was too expensive for my little student budget ; so, when I saw a discount, I jumped on the occasion! . I did thought about it for a bit since the reviews were pretty positive yet quite mixed at the same time, but, lemme tell you, I do not regret this investment. . I LOVE vampires, dark fantaisies, dark realistic atmospheres with fantastic elements in it, so, this game really hit the spot for me. I almost have 30h of game time curently and still I have not hit the end yet, I am quite a slow bug, admiring environments, being amazed at some of the neighbourhoods, the changes in Jonathan's physic (depending on your in game choices), the NPCs discussions and side quests, the RPG aspect, wondering whether or not to kill and, most of all, listening to this absolutly beautiful soundtrack. . I will say that the game is exigent with the player, doing wonders by putting peaceful/kill-free people in a more difficult and challenging playstyle : it's kill or be killed and the game puts you more than one time in a dilemma. . Will you honor your vow and save people or will you succomb to power and the need of becoming stronger to survive ? Personally, I started killing only those I didn't liked, those that are rotten to the core, first of all because I could and most importantly, because I wanted to ; but then, as you start to encounter enemies far above your level (even though you are constantly under leveled, at least thats the cass for me), then you need to think "Is this battle worth it ? Will I survive this ? Does this deserve my ressources ?" And even though you are careful, you know how to fight, you have good weapons, there will be a time where you will die again and again and again to basic ennemies just because you are too weak : you need to kill to face the threat. . Thats the moment the game reveals its moral genius, the moment where you feel like a god, you have the power of life and death over (almost) everyone out there, the constant possibility of killing between two lines of dialogue, but who deserves to die ? What consecuences will this brought out to the district ? . Jonathan evolves at the same pace as the player does and according to our choices, he and we will become either a cursed saint or a power hungry killing machine that sees its affliction not as a cursed bur rather a benediction to cleanse the world most and for all. . Anyways, all of this rant to say that this game has flaws indeed yet, this is truly a work of art if one has the patience and is resonating with the world, the story and the people this game offers us. . Good hunting fellow night lords.

Vampyr is criminally overlooked. Definitely one of my fav PS4 games, up there with Insomniac's Spider-Man and Red Dead Redemption 2.

The bass flute in the song 'The Lady' is mesmerizing. If the damn instrument didn't cost over a grand I'd pick one up today and learn it.
Oh no I've been listening to this so much that I'm starting to memorize individual soundtracks and I've never even played the game yet! This music so underrated though, it's absolutely gorgeously haunting.

Finally, I have found McCullum's boss theme. That ost was very eerie and they way it builds up really amps up and intensifies the battle. One of the best battles I ever had in Vampyr.
Defeating McCullum was certainly an accomplishment.
@@vvb8500 and Doris Fletcher. Despite having the space to manoeuvre around the hall, it was still difficult avoiding some of her long range arm attacks. Not to mention the poisonous gasses.

The first game i platinumed. Some flaws in the game , mainly that you could not look at an ai during dialouge and take it serious with the animations, but otherwise insane vibes and innovative social impact approach. A sequel would be insane.

I have my gripes with this game (mostly the lack of ability to really interact with much outside of eating people, and a couple of the writing choices) but good goddamn is it still one of my favourite games regardless. The things it does well (the characters, the morality system, the atmosphere, the music, the morality system, the vampire mechanics, and did I mention the morality system?) are all knocked absolutely out of the park and it's epic.

I assure you, THERE WILL BE A SECOND VAMPYR, and it is I who will fund its inception, or I will die trying... it may be years, decades, bud it will come, even better than it was, it will come with everything that was promised in their teaser trailer...
i wanted to be a werewolf... SO if they make "Werewolf" i'm going to be happy... but all jokes aside... it's an interesting game so far, the combat is alright.. if you sort of roleplay during it it's even better, i like to fight and move like a true predator, even suddenly go invisable to the get that sweet sneak attack on them...
This soundtrack should get awards.
2:17:39 gives me CHILLS! this game and soundtrack are AMAZING! I hope they make a sequel where we play as a turned Geoffery Mccullum and continue his story, he's by far my favorite character in the game.

The one saving grace that elevates this game is the atmosphere and parts of the story. I can feel the game developers limitations and I’m glad they knew where to really focus given their lack of resources.

I loved pretty much everything about this game. I've heard people complain about the controls/gameplay, and while it does take some getting used to, it didn't take longer for me than other new games. Most characters were top tier, as was the story and atmosphere. The only downside for me was the romance, which I just didn't buy, it felt very forced, especially towards the end when it seems to be the driving force behind lot of the decisions.

I love this game I wait too long for the series (hoping it's beautiful) and the second chapter
Great game to a point, was really invested in it. Though it suffered to shit at the final act. Felt like they had to force in a plot and characters that should have been introduced more gradually, and even then it didn't make total sense. But the soundtrack, by the gods, is amazing.

I wanted to play the game for quite some time now, but I never could buy it before since it was too expensive for my little student budget ; so, when I saw a discount, I jumped on the occasion!

I did thought about it for a bit since the reviews were pretty positive yet quite mixed at the same time, but, lemme tell you, I do not regret this investment.

I LOVE vampires, dark fantaisies, dark realistic atmospheres with fantastic elements in it, so, this game really hit the spot for me.
I almost have 30h of game time curently and still I have not hit the end yet, I am quite a slow bug, admiring environments, being amazed at some of the neighbourhoods, the changes in Jonathan's physic (depending on your in game choices), the NPCs discussions and side quests, the RPG aspect, wondering whether or not to kill and, most of all, listening to this absolutly beautiful soundtrack.

I will say that the game is exigent with the player, doing wonders by putting peaceful/kill-free people in a more difficult and challenging playstyle : it's kill or be killed and the game puts you more than one time in a dilemma.

Will you honor your vow and save people or will you succomb to power and the need of becoming stronger to survive ?
Personally, I started killing only those I didn't liked, those that are rotten to the core, first of all because I could and most importantly, because I wanted to ; but then, as you start to encounter enemies far above your level (even though you are constantly under leveled, at least thats the cass for me), then you need to think "Is this battle worth it ? Will I survive this ? Does this deserve my ressources ?" And even though you are careful, you know how to fight, you have good weapons, there will be a time where you will die again and again and again to basic ennemies just because you are too weak : you need to kill to face the threat.
.
Thats the moment the game reveals its moral genius, the moment where you feel like a god, you have the power of life and death over (almost) everyone out there, the constant possibility of killing between two lines of dialogue, but who deserves to die ? What consecuences will this brought out to the district ?
.
Jonathan evolves at the same pace as the player does and according to our choices, he and we will become either a cursed saint or a power hungry killing machine that sees its affliction not as a cursed bur rather a benediction to cleanse the world most and for all.
.
Anyways, all of this rant to say that this game has flaws indeed yet, this is truly a work of art if one has the patience and is resonating with the world, the story and the people this game offers us.
