  • For decades, Boeing and, more recently, Airbus have dominated the commercial aviation industry. However, there's a rising contender from Brazil, Embraer, poised to challenge their dominance. Embraer's E2 series of jetliners is gaining attention, potentially reshaping conversations about major players in the industry. But what sets the E2 series apart?

🇧🇷 Embraer was born from the Brazilian MIT (Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA), the best engineering school in Brazil. It was really challenging to earn my BSc in Electronic Engineering there.

ITA is an excellent Polytechnic Engineering School. But it should not be put in comparision against the MIT. This is a lame remark. To each its own merit.
And Embraer was not born from the ITA. A Brazilian aircraft manufacturer then was sanctioned by the Brazilian Military Brass as to the one who got the nod to receive Defense Contracts and bankrolling to build its commercial aviation business. The namesake pretty much tells it all.
One got lucky in despite of other bidders, who were left behind. That much is known.
As for how ITA got chartered , I have no ideia where it came from, but it certainly has an intricate relationship with Embraer. And certainly got a lot of funding from the Federal Government .
So cool off your little Green and Yellow pride gushing.

American Airlines placed an order for 133 Embraer planes this month, at London City Airport. 70% of landings and takeoffs are on Embraer planes, as they are quieter and use less fuel... Embraer saved Ilha Airport of St Helena from being closed, as no plane was able to land on the Island due to the strong winds, only the E-190 managed, and saved the Airport, images from this Platform below.

New technologies contributed to reducing the noise of Embraer's new generation of commercial jets, the E2, by 65% and carbon emissions per passenger by up to 25%, when compared to the previous generation. Emissions reduction can reach up to an impressive 85% when fueled with 100% sustainable aviation fuel (“European Inventor Award”).

The 175-E2 is made for 90 passenger, but to enter on the law in the USA a regional plane ned to sit a maximum of 70 passenger, reducing from 76 passenger of the 175-E to only a 70 is OK, but from 90 to 70 is losing a lot, EMBRAER hoped to increase the limit upper, but they are Brazilians and the USA didn't increase the number of seats so the development is stoped until the USA law increase the maximum passengers on regional planes.
Also, compare them to A220-300, the problem, Bombardier develop CSeries, to compete with EMBRAER 175-190-195 E, but they give the program to Airbus, Boeing break the contract with EMBRAER.

This will be a US flop. Airline pilot contracts restrict the size of aircraft available for regional service (scope clause).

    • @marcellofms
      @marcellofms 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Both the E190 and E195, in their E1 and E2 versions, never met US scope clauses, so much so that these models never achieved commercial success in North America. Embraer's focus in the United States has always been to sell the E170 and E175 and in this, the Brazilian company has achieved great commercial success.
The issue is that because the new engines used in the E175-E2 are heavier, the model was not able to reach the maximum weight requirement. Embraer's mistake was to have trusted that this clause would be modified. However, despite the E175-E2 having its development halted, Embraer remains comfortable with sales of the E175-E1, as there is no other competitor on the market capable of meeting the scope clauses.

Until scope clause in US changes the E-2's won't be a s large commerical sucess of the first genration ERJ. The US region carriers sare stilll ordering first generation . A220 has the same engines as the E2 no advantage. A220-100 also is able to operate out of London City Airport Swiss & ITA Airways use this, no quieter than A220 sorry

Okay let me rewrite your video. The E2 is popular because it's 2/3 the price of the A220. There is nothing else better about the E2 over the A220.

Disagree. More fuel efficient, less noise and CO2 emissions

@franciscogomes4416 more fuel efficiency but less seats so per seat cost is comparable. Same with co2 agsin per seat, it's the same. Airlines don't care if it's quieter.
