    It doesn't matter how you dress, your still a beautiful person. Beauty comes from within. For those filled with hate, they will never come to know the true beauty of life. Those that hate feel empowered by it, when they should feel embarrassed by it, for it belittles them and proves who they really are.

    When I came out as trans, I love everyone in my family. My now-ex, my now-16 year old son. My parents and grandparents. My siblings. I'll never get them back, but the truth is that if I was going to be authentic, then I never really had them to begin with. I ended up marrying a man from England, the sweetest man I've ever known. A father better step-father to my son, than my own father was to me. I truly began to learn who I really was when I came out as trans, and at the time of writing this I am a team lead at my job in a place full of very unaccepting and ruthless people, and I've been at my job now for over four years, when before I seemingly had four different jobs in a year. I'm me, and I hope that one day those I lost will get to know the person tney never had.

    Fantástico discurso, llega profundo al alma, creo de la gran mayoría, por que la gran mayoría nos vestimos de ideas predeterminadas que lleven a la aceptación de los otros. El mundo es tan cruel o lindo, según como tú lo quieras ver. Creo que allí esta la gran oportunidad de conseguir ser uno mismo y ser feliz o vivir en el closet. Great speech Fonda !!

      Jennifer, As a (dutch) Trans woman I would ask you not to mix the two terms up and perhaps educate yourself (if you have not done so already, this is a rather old comment after all). I would hate it if you crossdress because you feel you can not be the woman you want to be full time.

    Sons raised under the influence of single moms or mothers with more control over upbringing, woman who knowingly or unknowingly imbibe feminine qualities in the child does influence the sexuality of boys in puberty and later in adulthood. I'm interested in what put the kid in the closet first. This is not talked about much

    • @loltaire7179
      @loltaire7179 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Well, having known Eric my entire life, I would say that your speculation that he developed his sexuality in puberty would be off the mark, as he was always the way he was. Now, as to your other inquiry, he did not grow up with a single mother, and his father was the main influence in his life, then his mother, and more important than both, I think he would say his siblings and grandparents. (Myself included).

    • @mytubeworldmayhem
      @mytubeworldmayhem 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's laughable and annoying at the sametime that people like you quickly misinterpret and misrepresent opinions that are based on life experiences other than your own. My comment was precisely not about Eric or of the sexuality of people like eric, and neither was it in disacceptance of it. You should stop critiquing cuz sometimes you might not have a clue of where the other person is coming from.

    • @minkytak3156
      @minkytak3156 10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      mytubeaccount
      So what did you mean? Your post clearly insinuates that his sexuality may have been influenced by his mother.
      Anyway, you are making a mistake of cause vs. correlation. Did you ever consider that gay men brought up with greater female influence are more likely to be openly gay because they do not have to fear their fathers? People are more likely express themselves freely when they do not have gender expectations forced on them.

    I have a lot of sympathy for all people of different sexual orientations. I have friends who are gay and my boss in my previous job was gay. Even so, and listening to Eric, I still feel uneasy about it. I suppose it's because I've never seen a man look so much like a woman and a very attractive one at that. I believe this will take time for the rest of the world to acknowledge and accept because in the end, and no matter what sexual orientation we are in, we are first and foremost human and we must accept it with compassion.

    • @GnosisMan50
      @GnosisMan50 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Kai_Decadence Interesting point. Regarding tomboys, I remember working in a museum with a new curator who not only had her own unique way to dress, but often carried a police badge on her waist and had all the attributes of a man in her demeanor. When male movers came in to move heavy artifacts, they asked me if she was a guy. I said no. Mainly because I've seen her date men. In some teaching of psychology, she would be regarded as marshal type. I see no problem with it though it only becomes so when she's unaware of her behavior that can sometimes be impersonal and uncaring as men often are. The LGBT movement is a good thing though it's upsetting to many but it will pass in time. Change does not come without controversy.

    Amazing talk. Everyone deserves to be loved for who they are. I wonder what masks we all wear to "fit in".
    It is criminal you were not encouraged or accepted as simply being yourself.
    I have a possibly controversial question (not to do with sexuality, but with body). My partner thinks that transgender issues arise because society has failed (because society pressures people into gender stereotypes). Do you think if we fixed society, if we removed all gender expectations, would people still feel the need to change sex? If people did not care about who wears what clothes or what anybody's genitals might be.. would this fix everything?
    So, like how you wore drag to find acceptance... do you think people are changing sex because society does not currently allow them to be themselves?

    You know it's funny, when people talk about/defend "gays" they're always so nice and are scared that if they say something wrong then the internet will come after them! This MAN is an attention seeking human being, and everyone knows it, but can't say anything. I'm tired of gays being treated like saints for being stupid.

      +Sam Owens Hey man, everybody wants love. I'm with you that "don't hate on people for being ______" often gets overstated and can make people feel attacked for just not being part of the social justice movement, but there are reasons to praise people for being proud and out loud besides fear of criticism. I would have liked to hear more about Eric's struggle to make him more universally sympathetic, but based on the stories of my GLBTQ friends, I'm pretty all right with assuming that he was bullied or disowned or dehumanized more than once throughout his life. Coping takes a lot of forms--drag and the attention (or love) he gets from it seems to help this young man.
