- A few problems with creating customised map tiles in the Editor.
And a few ways on how to improve few issues to make it easier for map creators or anyone else.
I recognise the limitations of snapping so it's not about that. Creating map tiles borders at too sharp an angle won't work, also sensitivity of snapping seems just right, so it's not about that i can't place my node too close to the other map tile border or another node.
It's that toggling snapping on and off hasn't got any shortcut in the editor.
It's that there is no option for topography (contour lines) to be on while "painting" those map tiles.
It's that snapping randomly works fine or nearly fine but a lot of the time it doesn't (when the nodes don't want to get connected) and we again have to turn the snapping off to be able to place the borders along another one, then turn the snapping back on (again have to go with my cursor to the edge of the screen instead of being able to use the keyboard) and join the nodes - because then it works.
Also... if the map tiles nodes could snap to the map boundary, as in the very outer buildable area boundary.
