My ASD 9.7 year old is afraid of everything. l find it so hard to teach bible and history. From that point of view would you still recommend Generations? Also, would the Abeka be any benefit to a Canadian student?I appreciate your answer bc it sounds like your having a similar problem. Thank you!!!
I would skip generations. Any of there items seem pretty strong. Skip my fathers world, at least the history. The science of Abeka may be a good fit, even in Canada. Discovering Gods World. What subjects does your son enjoy?
@@HomeschoolShoppingChannel Thank you! l am using the Abeka science the same way you do. l use the math u see blocks to incorporate math curriculums. He would rather not learn at all .We just read and read and read. lol Happy Cheetah has been successful but not until he was 9. Diane Craft was helpful but he would mostly end up in tears. Phonics is really tough for him. He just cant remember. Vision therapy has been a game changer. He toilet trained and learned how to swim at age 9 and started to progress in math and reading. l really glean from your videos. Thank you!! Maybe ,eventually there will be a subject he can enjoy. lol
Congratulations on the swimming :) My son started at 8. We also use math u see. I do the Diane Craft books and flash cards but nothing else- too much work!
Have you ever tried Notgrass for History? Just wondering if you had an opinion on them. We tried Beautiful feet books, but my oldest quickly got bored so we are taking a break so I am currently looking for something that can be done quickly and to the point.(Trying to hold his attention) I like the way the Abeka history looks.
@@kimberlymiller2830 I did give not grass quite a try. I had such high hopes!! It was just so dry I made it a few chapters. I wanted more stories. The kids did like Curiousity Chronicals so I may do that next year. I am working on finishing Abeka history right now. I try so many history curricula. I really want to start bibliophile too. Too many plans, not enough time lol
