I now have 216,000+ miles on it, have only done basic maintenance, and the check engine light has never turned on. Drives like the day I bought it, and feels like I could reach 500,000+ miles no problem whatsoever. My lifetime MPG average is 41.4 MPG, and I get complimented on the looks all the time.
@@auliamate I genuinely believe it'll last me 500,000+ miles. Hell, maybe even reach a million. IDK what it is about some Ford hybrids but they turned out as reliable as Toyotas. I also have a 2008 Ford Escape hybrid with 200,000+ miles and those are known to go past 500,000 miles. They were used a taxis in NYC, San Fran and other cities and many have 600,000+ miles with little maintenance.
I have a MX-5 and more than once some old timer has mistaken it for a Ferrari. Being a Brit in America when I tell them it's a Mazda, they still haven't got a clue. I think it's because of the different pronunciation which is completely different each side of the atlantic.
It's actually incredible that Aston still exists at this point and I'm glad they do. British cars are famously bad but there's always been something special about Aston Martin. Some of the best looking cars ever made in my opinion.
Why are you glad? Their cars are stupid and unimaginative. Owning makes no sense, and looking at one should only provoke "what an idiot" as a thought of a clear mind. They were just about the last company that kept yelling "never will electric cars work!!!". If anything, they would have deserved to have died somewhere about 2005-2007. Btw. they also played the "range anxiety" card. Of course, not mentioning that a vanquish - or whatever - only had a range of 60 Miles from 900 kWh of energy when pushed. A Tesla model X at moderate speed would have won a cross country race easily, negating the "but it's faster" factor to something very, very ridiculous. But even then - no, even TODAY - they convince the sheep that "just put another 900 kWhs in the tank" is the right solution and a good, "efficient" thing. That's why they don't want you to think in kW and kWh but in horsepower 🐴 and gallons/litres 📊makes it so much easier to hide the fact and blend the madness that cars are inefficient af and anything but "sporty" or "cool". Just think of horses and a barrel and smile. Don't think of energy and return!!! No wait: don't think at all! Btw. Aston Martin will be bought by a Chinese Make in 4-5 years - 7 years max. and then they might have a chance of building really good cars.
ps. go check your yearly energy bill and see how much energy your houshold needed over the course of one year. Single user should need around 2200 kWh, couples around 3000 kWh. So it's a year of energy for your home or 200 miles in a vanquish when used accordingly i.e. why buy a 720 "horsepower" (that's 530 kW) car and then not use it?

One MAJOR thing this video missed...the Ford Fusion's designer was Moray Callum. Ian Callum's brother. Also, if you Google around, you'll find early molds and models of the XK as an Aston Martin.
I remember I was maybe 13 when the first new-body generation ford fusion came out, and that was exactly my first thought.. "That looks like an Aston Martin". Everyone in my immediate family had no clue what I meant until I showed them pictures of each. I thought I was crazy. Watching this video really closes the book on my child years lol
I remember seeing my first 2013 Fusion and being shocked. Fusions looked like garbage before that, and then, out of nowhere, it looked pretty good. Now I know why.
I had an '07 Fusion out of necessity because of, well 2007 gas prices. I remember when the 13's came out and looked so good...I never loved that front end on the one I had, but it was a great car honestly. I gave it to my wife when she graduated nursing school and went to the dealership and got an F150 since I traded in one for that car to put her through nursing school.
this video should've mentioned how intertwined the XJS and XK8 are in the development of the DB7. The XK/AM family trees are tangled up at the roots. He's right to say that the XK looks like a cheaper Aston Martin, but didn't point out that the prior gens were both derived from the same car. Another note is that the styling cues of the DB7 are heavily influenced by the stillborn Jag XJ41/XJ42 prototypes which Ian Callum checked out in the early 1990s.

Ford was that girl that Aston Martin dated for a while, who taught Aston new things, made it a better company, but was meant as a fling. Aston Martin would not be nearly the company it is today, had it not been partnered with Ford for a bit.

I agree. If Callum was the lead designer for Ford before Aston Martin, it's safe to say that Aston Martin's unique design was never theirs to begin with. Not sure what the problem is here.

Ford brief was to cut costs, and use parts already in the ford catalogue. Even the DB7 aesthetically wasn't even supposed to be an Aston, that was Ford's intervention.

How to confuse the crap out of a non car person: say “nice Aston Martin” to their fusion😂😂
And how to anger an Aston Martin owner: ask them “is that a Ford?”
@AudiR8Fanboy NGL I was considering buying a Ford Fusion because of the nice looks of the car.
I have a MX-5 and more than once some old timer has mistaken it for a Ferrari. Being a Brit in America when I tell them it's a Mazda, they still haven't got a clue. I think it's because of the different pronunciation which is completely different each side of the atlantic.
@@antmax that’s ok I just drive a Camry with a body kit
Shit car people say lol🤷🏻♀️
Sorry if i ruined your advertisment-force-fed world. But it is high time to go to the real world.

One MAJOR thing this video missed...the Ford Fusion's designer was Moray Callum. Ian Callum's brother. Also, if you Google around, you'll find early molds and models of the XK as an Aston Martin.

The 2010 Ford Fusion was still a nice looking car

this video should've mentioned how intertwined the XJS and XK8 are in the development of the DB7.
