Last time Ramsay eliminated someone without giving them a chance to plea was Melissa(S3) and she was the first contestant in history to get that type of brutal elimination. Matthew’s brutal elimination here now was pretty much one of the best moments out this season.
When it comes to talent, yes, Ava was probably better than Matthew. No question. I dont think she would have had any chance to win or reach the Black Jacket, but she should have gotten a chance at Dinner Services. But they kept Matthew because they knew that it would be a trainwreck at Dinner Service.
Matthew wasn't the only one who broke a rule for using a meat thermometer, Barbie did that in season 10 which got her kicked out of the kitchen, don't know how he's still there having a signature dish shrimp with 💩 in it, his raw chicken chosen as their 'top' dish, and serving raw lamb, Gordon eliminated him off the spot without even asking him why he should stay in Hell's Kitchen
My favorite highlights: 5:31 I love how much respect Gordon has for Mike Tyson. He would run through a wall for him to make sure he gets a good dining experience. Megan: 5:41 Whoa Bad Time 7:57 I love the cut to Antonio when he said bounce back 10:05 Gordon was not having it with Matthew. Short sweet and painless elimination.

I was a customer during this dinner service. 50 minute wait, but well worth it. The food was excellent. As a fan of the show, seeing the production was incredible. You don’t realize there are dozens of crew members present to film a show like this. Meeting Mike Tyson was very cool.

As he gets older I think he wants something that's taken a bit more seriously. Having those moments where the music cuts off really add a lot more weight. Which is good for a show that needs to keep evolving in order to maintain relevancy.

After season 11, I never thought it couldn't get any worse, but with the first few episodes of this season, especially this episode, I have NEVER seen a blue team more uncoordinated and disasterous. The defining moment was after they came out of the storage room after having a meeting to get their act together, a few seconds after they come back, they start bickering and arguing and talking over each other in a disorganized fashion, like hens in a henhouse. Truly unbelievable...
