I dont think she would have had any chance to win or reach the Black Jacket, but she should have gotten a chance at Dinner Services. But they kept Matthew because they knew that it would be a trainwreck at Dinner Service.
Last time Ramsay eliminated someone without giving them a chance to plea was Melissa(S3) and she was the first contestant in history to get that type of brutal elimination. Matthew’s brutal elimination here now was pretty much one of the best moments out this season.
Matthew wasn't the only one who broke a rule for using a meat thermometer, Barbie did that in season 10 which got her kicked out of the kitchen, don't know how he's still there having a signature dish shrimp with 💩 in it, his raw chicken chosen as their 'top' dish, and serving raw lamb, Gordon eliminated him off the spot without even asking him why he should stay in Hell's Kitchen

I was a customer during this dinner service. 50 minute wait, but well worth it. The food was excellent. As a fan of the show, seeing the production was incredible. You don’t realize there are dozens of crew members present to film a show like this. Meeting Mike Tyson was very cool.

To me the issue wasn't the thermometer; I'm fine with using what tools you have to in order to get the job done. But when he used it and STILL couldn't get the job done........well it's time to go.
After season 11, I never thought it couldn't get any worse, but with the first few episodes of this season, especially this episode, I have NEVER seen a blue team more uncoordinated and disasterous. The defining moment was after they came out of the storage room after having a meeting to get their act together, a few seconds after they come back, they start bickering and arguing and talking over each other in a disorganized fashion, like hens in a henhouse. Truly unbelievable...
I'm actually surprised about the thermometer. Seen the most popular people use them because getting it perfect every time is more important than looking like a psychic.
Steve would be a great protégée as while he is understated in terms of his performance etc he is a hard worker who is assertive and I would absolutely want him on my team.

i work in the busiest restaurant in my country and during holidays when ppl from other countries come visit us we have around 150-200 orders going on at the same time. We have 2 guys who do food preps and our chef is either helping them do food preps cuz we run out of them so quickly or help us on stations. And we have same amount of ppl in the kitchen at the same time as they do, Sometimes even less when someone's sick etc. We have to decorate and plate everything by ourselves. Sometimes admin does it for us. Its so funny to see them struggle in understanding order or not getting the pace done. You dont even have that busy restaurant rn
