Rib eye is 11 for 2 ! Even the chuck is cheap! If you don’t buy all the junk and bread and other staples you probably can buy meat and eggs!!
I spice with Celtic sea salt, paprika and garlic, and cook the patties in an air fryer, way less messy, no smoke alarms going off. I keep the fat drippings and use it to fry my eggs.
I'm only about a couple of months in, and still getting good mileage from your burger steaks + gravy-from-the-pan-scrapings idea. I'm not 100% strict on this way of eating; more like 90% (main issue is with gluten so I enjoy my hashbrowns on the weekends lol). One thing I've done that was a game changer in not eating the same few things over and over was to invest in a dedicated meat grinder (doesn't need to be expensive). This allows grinding your own burger from larger primal cuts so you know there's no additives or funny business going on, but also opens the door to being able to make many different kinds of sausages (cased, bulk, aged, etc). With a little prep it's fairly easy to go a week without having the same "meal" twice.
