  • These procedures will work on ANY small engine but since this is a HONDA snowblower channel posting here for anyone and members of my Facebook Group HONDA SNOWBLOWER ENTHUSIASTS with 3400 members Worldwide.
This problem is common at beginning of the season after a long layoff. If your machine was running right at end of last winter this may be a fairly simple fix. In some cases you may have to do an Inframe cleaning of carburetor or remove it in most severe cases.

Hope these simple tips help solve this pesky problem. To avoid this use Ethanol Free gas if you have it in your area. Next best thing is fresh premium unleaded gas treated with a gasoline stabilizer. I use STABIl but there are other good ones on the market. be careful not to use too much of any chemical as you could damage seals, plastic parts , and/or maybe the fuel line. use any chemical as directed.

Anthony, my 929 has a similar muffler to that one you're working on. Like to spruce up the muffler. I saw one that you made that had a chrome muffler. I think you said it was off an 80. The few that I've seen still have rust on them, so I'm not sure the chrome would hook up. I'd kind of like to spray paint it black. Attempting to make it look like new I suppose. Is there any particular way to get that off? For the purposes of repainting it. I would use an engine block paint. And maybe consider taking it down to the bare metal so the paint would stick well. But I'm worried about applying liquid wrench, and the like to the rusted screws. Is this just a dumb idea?. Or is it reasonable to make it happen? Thank you. Love your channel

My 1332atd seems to surge for quite a while after starting it. I got it 4 or 5 years ago and it’s done it since I purchased it from the local dealer. I didn’t realize it wasn’t supposed to act like that since it just always has. What should I look at first since most of these items seem like they would be from an older machine.

what is your elevation? If nothing here works it may need a new main jet in the carb. depends on elevation.

My 1132 started surging this AM for first time. It was about 15 deg out. It ran fine if I pulled choke out about 3/4 inch. Temp related lean?

Sorry it took so long to respond. Not sure. Did you pull plug to look at color? These 1132's are notorious for surging. Did this just start? I would add some Seafoam to gas if minor and it may clear up.

@@HondaSnowblowerEnthusiasts311 Thanks Anthony. Yes it was a one time thing. I used it again since then and it had no surging issue. I'll do as you suggest if re-occurs.
