    the blueish-purplish hue to the feet made me think of ash and soot that had gotten stuck as the dragon has walked around.

    I think with some kitbashing the stark contrast between scales on the tale could be mitigated with some spare tyranid bits or some greenstuff sculpting.

    It looks fantastic, I am also impressed by the speed of your brush work. You really go for it stabbing at the model but it works brilliantly. It's something I could learn from as I am a painfully slow painter.

    Thanks for the video. I got this dragon a few weeks ago. i didn't really do more than just a base coat, wash, and dry-brush... i couldn't think of what else i could do, because of the sculpt. Your video has given me some inspiration, so i have go back over my model with some of what you did.

    Looks great! I had the same sculp issues with Wizkids Gargantuan White dragon. Got frustrated with trying to clean the model up, finally said screw it and started painting.

    I bought this one a few months ago a made a black dragon with it. I wish I had an air brush because those back spike are really hard to get good coverage. I love what you've done with this one.

      Once you finally own an airbrush you start to realize how even an amateur (not saying you’re an amateur) can learn to make good looking models..and you will improve over time. It really is a good investment and a ton of fun too.

      I know that owning a dragon sounds cool and all, but they sharpen their claws on couch, gnaw on the furniture, and refuse to use the litter box. They really do take a certain kind of owner.

    Could you please tell more about your airbrush. I'm using RichPen and I cant fight problem with small dots flying from it sometimes, I can't make flow thin as it could be... I use Vallejo colors with original thinner in different proportions, but it helps a little...

    I havea Medium fire elemental from deep cuts. My question is, what color should I use to base it? I want to use a yellow/orange/black color scheme with yellow as the primary feature an black used sparingly around the tips. I would love it if you did a video on it.

    Aside from the strange wings and out of place tail, that's an awesome mini! When you base larger models like this one, do you use any of the Vallejo texture pastes or use traditional flocking techniques?

      Nothing special. Just bark, wall spackle and sand.

    Did you kit come with the built up base, mine did not? Just a flat plain plastic base. If you made that I would be interested in your technique; video maybe?

      I'm not good a tracking time. Less than 10 hours over the course of a few weeks, best guess.

      Maybe? I've done a lot of videos and forget. It's just bark, spackle and sand. They go in the display cabinet I built. Or get blown up in the driveway with firecrackers.

    How do you keep your brush tips from getting seperations in them? Also, how do you fix or deal with stray bristles on your brushes?

      Cleaning them with brush cleaner regularly helps, but they will eventually split. Loose strays get trimmed off with clippers or a knife.

      It could of faded over time perhaps or it's the color on the camera, but it is Earth.

      The craft store. They are plain pine bases.

    lol at the "Big ball of spikes and seem lines". its plastic at least, no? I gave up cleaning seem lines on my reaper fire giant. so much more difficult then plastic.

      No. This one was mostly with Princeton 4050r brushes.

      One wing is just more extended than the other, that’s the only difference. It doesn’t make the mini symmetrical, but sometimes that’s a good thing.

      @@ANinjaSpartan oh no I own the miniature, the actual "fingers" of one wing are even longer. Which anatomically doesnt make much sense haha. Not to mention the way the arms bend to make the pose is a bit wonky aswell altho Ill let that one fly. but yea its not a super bad thing, but it does make the dragon look really weird from certain angles and certainly would upset anyone with OCD

    Body is nice but the wings don't look right. One appears to be bigger than the other. Great paint job though, as always.

    To me there should be much less brown and gold colours on a DnD red dragon, especially the very light tips on the brown spikes is just too much. I like the end result a lot but I don't think it's very fitting for a red dragon from DnD.
