"Shea butter is a gift from the heavens, brought down to Earth on a baby cloud and mixed with love and laughter and rainbows and magic." This is my favorite part of the video, I don't think anyone could top that description xD
God has blessed us witb many natural things that have been given to us on a cloud. Unfortunately, we need fancy packages. This is a good video. I love to use shea butter. Im impressed with my brown skin.
I mix Shea Butter with a few drops of tea tree oil and baking soda to make deodorant. I rub Shea Butter in my palms to melt it and then add a couple drops of vitamin e and use it as a body butter. I mix melted Shea butter, Greek yogurt, coconut oil, and olive oil to make a protein treatment for my hair. I'm glad to see you uploading vids again.
+Alpha when I first started I did. Its been over a year now and even after an intense workout Im not sweaty basketball player funky. I will say its a deodorant only not an antiprespirant. The baking soda leave white residue also. Eventually you'll be able apply it at night and then use the Shea butter and tea tree oil during the day. Its been working for me.
+LaT How damn I need something like this. I used this solid deodorant that gave me rashes three months ago and even though I switched back to Dove's go fresh deodorant the rashes haven't gone and they still feel itchy. It's annoying because I frequently need to shave them and the rashes just won't quit. thanks for the help!
@@kd-sd9bu 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was so confused when I initially started reading this. Wow time flies. I no longer wear my hair curly. I now twist it and then blow dry each section with that Revlon brush. Blow drying is just easier for my lifestyle. I will say the mixture did work, it was just very, very, very messy. I used a bowl that was 2cups. I put 6 to 8 ounces of yogurt. Then I used an eighth of a cup of Braggs olive oil, an eight of a cup of Now coconut oil and 2 Tbs of melted raw Shea butter. I mixed it until the ingredients were nicely blended. I never used the whole mixture though. After applying I put 2 Walmart bags on and let it sit for 30 minutes. I'd rinse with luke warm water and then follow with a deep conditioner. I am not sure which deep conditioner I was using back then (I am sure it was something by shea moisture 🤣🤣🤣)but now I use Aquage. I also now use Pantene cowash and Cantu shampoo. My hair is still growing(passed tailbone)but I think it because of low manipulation. I wear a ponytail or two braids. I hope this helped. Thanks for the throwback thread. 😁

Your hair looks so calm and tames. Love seeing the different curls in your hair. Doesn't make me feel so weird. Please do a short hair curly hair routine!!Cutting my hair short my hair keeps coming out like an afro it feels like.
Thank you for the awesome video. I just found your channel and became immediately obsessed! My baby daughter has my same natural hair texture (2C/3A), and I want to learn to love my own natural curls to set a good example for her. The longer her hair gets the more it makes me realize that I have no idea how to deal with curly hair (aside from with a flat iron), which is just sad, haha. Thanks again for your informative channel!
you're from the rare people on youtube that are actually being themselves, and I love you for that, you are perfeeect the way you are!! btw you seem soo young!! how old are you
My African American friends have incredibly beautiful skin. One of my best friends is in her 60s Another in 70s no wrinkles. I now believe it is due to their skin care regiment and usage of various butters, such as Shea, cocoa and mango. This is an African beauty secret. Japanese women, it’s natto , consuming collagen and rice water
For all my fellow Nut Allergies out there, while Shea butter is a nut, allergic reactions to Shea butter are very rare. I think the nut itself is too distantly related to actually be an issue. I've used it and never had a reaction to it; you can definitely avoid it if you prefer to be safe tho,
I always pronounced it sh-ee-ah butter smh😂😂 I'm not only learning about how to take care of my hair but also how to pronounce words! Thank you Penny!💗
Have you tried carbonated water in your hair and scalp? It does wonders for cleaning your hair! I basically now only use Castille soap and carbonated or filtered water to wash my hair. I also use Shea butter for my hair too and it really does protect it and keep it alive and healthy even after bleaching.
Your videos literally saved my curls. Thank you so, so much. Literally, you derserve like a million dollars for the amount of people's curls you've saved (including myself!)
Hey Penny, can you test the overnight hair growth challenge? It's where you use eggs and an oil, wash it out, apply coconut oil to your hair and leave it on overnight. Some people had 1-2 inches of growth and I want to know if it really works :)
She might do it but I know in one of her videos she says she thinks that nature should take its course and that you shouldn't try to force the hair to grow that fast
+CurlyPenny OMG YOU REPLIED AAAAHHHHHH IVE BEEN WATCHING YOU FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR NOW I NEVER THOUGHT THIS WOULD HAPPEN!!!! ok I'm done fangirling lol
+CurlyPenny thank you so much for creating such informative videos and helping others embrace their curls instead of straightening it. You have really helped me not only improve the health of my hair and my confidence as well. Love you penny ❤️
The most important benefit of Shea butter is that it does not clog pores. It is therefore suitable for making deodorant (along with baking soda) and also as a facial cream for oily skin. The biggest drawback of Shea butter is ... smell. Pure shea butter is not perfumed and it smells very unpleasant. In addition, it is very hard even at room temperature so I recommend mixing it with the Hemp oil (which also does not clog pores) and add a natural odor extract to blur some of the original smell.
Because I find the Shea butter scent a bit over whelming and also it's not very smooth when applying, I discovered an amazing hack to solve this and add value to it. I just mix Shea butter with original petroleum jelly or vaseline 7-3 ratio (7 Shea butter and 3 vaseline). Works wonders I only wish I could take out a patent on it. Thank me Later!
This is not a video related question, but i was wondering if i could naturally make my hair curlier overtime, because now my natural hair is sometimes quite curly and othertimes straight/wavy and it can be annoying because i don't know what to do with it hahaha. Or should i just keep moisturising my hair with deep conditioners that enhance your curly hair?
kimmm 199917 you can't make your curlier over time. That's not how hair works. You can do twist outs and finger coiling to enhance your hair pattern but it will be gone the next time you shower. Deep conditioners for enhancing curly hair only works for people who already have curly hair and have damaged their hair. It just gives them back their natural curl pattern.
Patience is virtue. After my transitioning state I had straight hair underneath 3a curls. It took me almost 6 months to get uniform texture. And follow cg method. It speed up the process

If you don't like to apply shea butter directly on your skin, u can use shea butter for making cookies so you can use em as "pills" to make your skin moisterized. You'll shit them after but at least it'll last a few hours...until you take another cookie to repeat the process.
Penny, question for you is ok to melt my Shea butter before I use it. It's really thick to put on lol I put it all over after my shower and in the morning after washing my face. Just seems that would be a lot easier to put on if it was melted. Wacha think?😁😁

Would it be okay for me to use a heavier more chemical based lotion on my hands or maybe even my body, and just use Shea Butter on my Face, neck, ears. Would that somehow affect the routine and skyrocket the chances of breakouts and or clogged pores on my face? Because I don’t really breakout on my body no matter what I use but I do occasionally on my face, get back to me when you can, and thankyou! P.S you get my thought process right lol, like if I use a different lotion on my body and hands and don’t touch my face, I should be fine and still get the full benefits on my face and areas I apply it on. I heard that the white shea butter is bleached and not 100% pure while the yellow one is unbleached and 100% pure
Is shea butter heavier or lighter than coconut oil???
heavier when it's solid.. then when you mix in in your hand it's almost the exact same.
NestumSOha1 to me it feels thicker when melted because it's a butter it feels slippery and coconut oil feel like water compared
NestumSOha1 heavier
Shea butter is probably safer... coconut oil has a tendency to be problematic especially for those suffering with acne
NestumSOha1 it's heavier than coconut oil.
this the first video ive ever seen by Penny,,, im inlove 😍😍😍😍
Do you ever whip your Shea butter? Also, when you apply the solid form to your body/hands does it ever look oily afterwards?
Actually, shea butter is used sometimes in African cooking. So, it can be eaten.
