Hi, I have the same coupler on my Pop-up camper and hitching up is a right pain in the "A". I think my coupler is doing the same thing yours is doing. Did you ever find out why it keeps moving forward when opening instead of moving back?

I'm having same issue, I got a used boat trailer today, but can't hook it up to my hitch. The lever won't move that tongue lock thing. After looking around TH-cam I know I sort of think the brake actuator may be pushing the lock forward to lock position. I'll go back and try more in the morning. Or maybe someone will post a response to this video.

@@stevearredondo9297 I lubed all moving parts with chain lube. Then it worked good enough.

I've had the same issue which came from a boat mechanic lifting the coupler, while not open, and forced the bar behind the coupler to flip. It's a pain to flip it back to work correctly but thats all it takes.

Hello, can you possibly help me with this? mine is doing the same exact thing and i'm not sure what you mean by bar behind the coupler to flip.

@@billramsey5456 I finally found my issue. Looking at a repair kit, I am apparently missing the spring that makes this work. Its in the repair kit. I guess mine rusted and fell apart. Check yours out. The spring should be visible when you lift the latch. It goes on thd bar that runs directly underneath. Mine has just the bar.
