Myriad negative comments on here. Yes, there are other ways to utilize zip ties, and other systems that work well, but he's sharing a lot of ideas that will help many of us. Bet you're not invited to many parties!
I use hundreds of these yearly and never once thought of cutting a small hole in the side of the bag to keep them all together.and from falling out of the bag .
That one was the one that made me smack myself in the forehead. Duh! Why have I not been doing this all these years?? I just had to pick up a whole bag of ties that fell out of the bag in the back of my truck 2 days ago. Still haven't gotten them all.
As a DIY guy I won’t feel comfortable having 2 pointed objects pointed up near my stomach in case of a trip or fall. Using a tool belt is a lot safer and less fumbling around to release the tool. My opinion
Your ideas are so ingenious! I love this channel. You should seriously write a book about all your ideas and get some of these ideas patented. I love your videos!
They’re great for vehicle emergency repairs like holding a wheel well up, trying down something to the roof rack, and the real big ones can be used as “ Handcuffs “ 😂
I you use good quality cable ties, they are not "releasable". They contain a stainless steel "grabber" insert that cannot be undone. They are usually made of tough nylon that can be pulled much tighter than the cheaper plastic ties and are UV stabilized. If used outside, cheap ties will break in a year of weather exposure. I have nylon cable ties that are still tight after >20 years outdoors. Some clever ideas, though.
I didn't expect that a cable tie could have so many useful applications like this. I feel like I can apply it in real life in my house, does anyone else think so?
The all good idea, some i already know, but Number 40 is going to help me a lot . Thanks. The plastis the you cut can be used for melted and make other stuff.
That was great thank you. I’ve removed a lot of the things you mentioned already but I’m curious about silicone. Did you speak about it and I missed it?
#22 (the bucket) If you don't feel like wasting cable ties, there's this amazing new invention that nobody knows about. It's called the "bit of string".
I like to ziptie my bag/luggage to know if anyone had been in it. Like in hotels or TSA. Yes TSA has the right to cut it but at least then I know. Use different colors the average person won't have (or use variety of colors) and seems obvious but I have to say it- don't keep the zipties in that same bag. Or where someone could find them to ziptie the bag back up.
Instead of pulling zip ties out the side of the plastic bag, put a tie around the outside of the bag tight enough to hold all if the ties in a bundle, cut off the end where the squares are and pull them out of the opening and ighten the zip tie as you use them.
You mean like he does here at 3:31 but leave the bag on? I like it the other way (the hole in the side of the bag). It just seems way more simple a solution to me.
Good ideas ONE REALLY BAD ONE ******* DO NOT USE ZIP TIE TO HOLD LIGHTER IN THE LIT AND ON POSITION. THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO TAKE THAT KIND OF HEAT AND MIGHT EXPLODE ********
here's a hack for "free" zip ties. most every thing has them in it's packaging and if you cut them off at the "tail" rather than the "head" you can pull the cut part through the head, cut a point on the remaining tail, and bob's yer uncle, free shorter zip ties.
Ingenious ideas; thanx for sharing. Another reason God made man. We all have extraordinarily better lives because of them; thanks to male inventiveness...❤
Some of these are practice ideas I’ve used myself, while some are a little ridiculous. I would be looking for a new handyman if he showed up with a tool belt made of zip ties and tools from the dollar store 😂😂😂
98% of these ideas already have perfectly working solutions that don't require wasting plastic, especially when using those cheap, thin, degradable zip ties that you will have to replace constantly (ex. the drill depth guide has nice metallic ones that if you get a set will outlast your lifetime).
I'd use a lot more zip ties but they cost way too much for what they are in the USA. The ones at dollar tree are very light duty so very limited use. They really hose us on price for zip ties in the USA.
I bought some reusable ones a few years ago; they have a tab you can push to release them. A little more spendy at first, but they eventually pay for themselves by not having to waste them.
This vid makes me sad. That there are that many people who have forgotten simple cordage, and how to tie useful knots for every day utility. To depend on such limitations as a piece of one time use plastic is truly a step sideways of progress and innovation, and the very mindset that holds the majority behind. Why think and use a solution which will last and have practical knowledge of reusable materials when you can slap a piece of one time use sun deteriorating plastic and just put another one when it breaks...
@@questioner113 TH-cam- Canadian jam knot. It's a better zip tie. Just 3 simple over hand knots in the right sequence. Lock it off with a last over hand and cut off the excess. Bam cordage zip tie. Lock off the the jam knot with a quick release, and it can be removed and replaced anytime as many times as you want. I recommend using 225 paracord for general small tasks. 550-750 paracord for bigger things. Then full size rope with 1000lb test for truck tie downs. To learn just TH-cam ''useful knots'' learn 4 knots. Learn to hitch. Learn to tie off. Learn to constrict. And learn to tension. A hitch just connects to a point or adds a loop to the end of line. A tie off connect 2 ropes together. A constriction wraps and holds items together for storage or travel. A tension pulls the line tight and holds tight over time and usage, until you need to remove it. Knots are a journey of usability and utility. If you dont use the knots and find uses and reason to have them you forget it exists.. this is why they sell zip ties in the front of the store and hide the rope in a back aisle on the bottom shelf.. the rope is reusable, but they know you will be back for more zip ties..
Look guy, right now there are people who can’t read cannot cook basic things for themselves. Spend all of their time and money on fast food restaurants and video games. They can’t tie their own shoes. They don’t have concept of how much money they spend because they don’t use cash anymore. Lots and lots of critical skills have gone missing with the advent of convenience, so this little video hopefully someone will take some of these ideas and then find a piece of string and do it the way you’re describing. There are architects who cannot draw and doctors who cannot diagnose and treat simple serious injuries in the field. Knot tying is an excellent skills born of necessity and imagination. These things are in short supply. These same folk cannot sew on buttons, iron clothing or many other tiny basic skills.
Yes! And use a potholder instead on that pot lid. Also go to a dollar store and get a brush to clean out that last thing instead of getting that cover partway cleaned with all those abused zip ties. If youre not careful they can scratch a surface and yourself! Those monkeys are sharp! Holy cow 🙄
My thoughts exactly. Every one of these hacks, tricks or whatever they're called has been on TH-cam for years, and he says he wish he knew about them earlier.... 😂
Most of the ideas were not great, true. But I did get at least one great trick out of it. That was worth it to me. (cutting a hole in the middle of the bag instead of the end). I wish I'd known that one last week. My tool box rocked to the side and sent a whole bag of those damn things all over my truck bed. Still haven't gotten them all picked up.

That last one reminded me of the game pick up sticks. 😊
#34 for the win. The tool belt made me give a thumbs up. Bravo 👏 👏

Some really good ideas.
The best ideas since we had sliced bread😅😂❤
Or, the electric yo-yo.
If you combine cable ties with duct tape, i suspect you might invent cold fusion. Brilliant, simple, clever,. Thank you.
These things are amazing, thank you!
Lids are already kinda like that on our plastic bottles. Cheers from Sweden!
Excellent !! Mes remerciements et salutations de l'Algérie

Tip 2 is excellent how to re use zip ties less waste

wow you are right . there is a difference , i think the stainless steel versions would work outside just fine ! .
Superb Ideas

#22 (the bucket) If you don't feel like wasting cable ties, there's this amazing new invention that nobody knows about. It's called the "bit of string".
Wrap the tie twice , it strengthens the holding power !
Don't forget the ton of bandaids you'll need thanks to those clipped points
I secured my bags on a flight with a zip tie. When I got to the hotel, I didn't have anything sharp to cut it open. 😂
Recommend paper clips for that?
I like to ziptie my bag/luggage to know if anyone had been in it. Like in hotels or TSA. Yes TSA has the right to cut it but at least then I know. Keep the ones for the return trip in your carry on.
Ya know if you leave a lighter burning too long it will explode right...
@13:20 (trick 38) there's a similar trick like this if you just twist off the end with pliers it'll remove the leftover sharp part
What was the purpose of the sponge being pulled up and down?
cleaning behind the board I suppose?
It must have already been clean ! 😅@@mariojeanjacques7907

#7 I use a rubber band- similar concept.
I use twist ties from bread bags.
Great ideas but a Capo is meant to move up and down the guitar neck.

All these zip ties and not a pair of flush cut pliers around 😂
Who needs 'em when you got nail clippers though right?
Why would you need to do that to a soda bottle? How hard is it to just itthe way it is?
#8: Can't you just use staples?
Cause the staples will cut into the wire
They're actually called cable ties, not zip ties.
19,999 videos to go.

Reminds me of the "Don't say Velcro" commercial.
I agree. I wish they were not made out of plastic. I’ll not use them.
There's only like 5 real ones in here. This shit was so dumb, but for some reason had to watch them all 🤦🏻♂️
Why have you made 4 videos on the same footage?
I spend time snapping the new style lids off the bottles. They are annoying.
Some great ideas but some wasteful or not viable.
Melting zip ties down in a glue gun 🤔 so what happens if I print a glue stick in pla🤔

Dont do the lighter stand trick. Lighters are not designed for heat that long

Nothing says professional musician, like a neon yellow zip tie capo. 🤔
Oh and PLEASE be the tool, that zip ties his tools, to his belt on the jobsite.
At The rate of increase in prices of cable ties I think lot of these ideas us a waste of money
Got me about to make bad decisions with the zip ties I bought for no reason 2 months ago.
Did I just watch a guy glue gun zip ties onto a terrible phone case and want me to believe it was great information
It looks like a super expensive piece now. The stain on the veneer is perfect.
I hate to see so much plastic wasted. You could use shorter ziip ties to save all that plastic

At most discount stores the large ones are the same price as the small ones.
