Did you know Yunus is also pushing Malaysia so that Bangladesh can join ASEAN. With conflicts going on in Myanmar ASEAN is not very much interested in accepting new members. But with Malaysia taking the leadership of ASEAN in the next term there is a chance.
Yunus is looking for enhancing regional cooperation. So if it is not SAARC, he will join ASEAN anyway

The ASEAN is already having a regional security summit in Dhaka and Army chief is attending that.

SAARC against India's interest, so Inda wil not participate.
Without India SAARC is dead on arrival.
Others will try since they feel disavantaged dealing with India bilaterally.
But will fail till they learn to prioritize Indian interests wrt terrorism, encroaching China or US, respecting minority rights (Hindus, Tamils or Madhesis), reciprocal trade & transit. They will need to give up temptation of wrangling benefits from China or US by bartering geopolitical bases like Gwadar or CPEC which infringe India's critical interests.

26 lakh Indians work in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is the 8th remittance country for India and says beggars. 7 crore people still sleep under the sky. In a country where 30% of people still don't know how to use senatorial Latin. They again call other countries beggars. India is calling Bangladesh beggars, you are actually uneducated, I will say. India is about twenty-two times the size of Bangladesh. India's total GDP is 3.417 trillion and Bangladesh's is 455 billion. Now multiply 455 by 22. 10.01 trillion will come. The Future of SAARC Without India: A Look at China's Potential Membership
The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was established to foster regional collaboration and economic integration among its member countries. However, SAARC's progress has often been hampered by political tensions, particularly between India and Pakistan, which have cast a shadow over the organization's effectiveness. With India being the largest member, many view its role as crucial to SAARC's success. However, it is possible that SAARC could not only survive but also thrive without India's participation, especially if China were to join as a new member.
The Limitations of India’s Dominance in SAARC
India's central position in SAARC has often meant that regional cooperation is overshadowed by its own national interests and its tensions with Pakistan. In the past, meetings have been postponed or disrupted due to these political challenges, preventing the organization from achieving its full potential. As a result, many of the smaller SAARC countries, such as Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka, have been left in a position where they cannot fully benefit from SAARC's goals of regional integration.
Without India's influence, these smaller nations may have more freedom to pursue collaborative projects without the underlying political tensions that have stifled the group's progress. A SAARC without India could give more space for the remaining countries to explore mutually beneficial partnerships and trade agreements without being caught in the crossfire of India-Pakistan disputes.
China's Role as a Potential Member
China’s growing influence in South Asia, particularly through its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), makes it a strong candidate for SAARC membership. As an observer state of SAARC, China has already demonstrated a keen interest in engaging with South Asia. Full membership could unlock a new era of growth and cooperation for the region.
If China were to become a full member of SAARC, its economic might and infrastructure expertise could give a massive boost to the region. For smaller member countries, this would mean enhanced trade opportunities, greater access to Chinese investments, and stronger economic integration. China’s inclusion could also help diversify the organization's strategic partnerships, reducing reliance on any single member while fostering stronger ties across the region.
    SAARC’s Future without India
A SAARC without India could open up fresh possibilities. The organization might evolve to focus more on economic collaboration rather than being bogged down by political conflicts. China's potential membership would significantly enhance SAARC's global standing, giving the smaller nations more leverage in international negotiations and access to larger markets.
In conclusion, SAARC’s future, even without India, holds promise. The inclusion of China could revitalize the organization, offering a new path forward based on economic cooperation, infrastructure development, and regional stability. With China’s vast resources and expertise, SAARC could become a more effective and unified entity in South Asia.
Professor Muhammad Yunus' Role in SAARC's Vision
Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Nobel Laureate from Bangladesh and founder of Grameen Bank, has long been an advocate for regional cooperation and sustainable development in South Asia. His pioneering work in microfinance has transformed lives across the region, lifting millions out of poverty. As an influential figure in South Asia’s development landscape, Professor Yunus could play a pivotal role in guiding SAARC's future.
Yunus' philosophy of social business and his emphasis on grassroots economic development align well with SAARC's mission of regional cooperation. He has championed economic empowerment at the local level, which could be integrated into SAARC's broader strategies, especially in promoting economic inclusion across South Asia’s smaller nations. His experience and vision could help reshape SAARC's approach to regional collaboration by focusing on poverty reduction, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth.
As SAARC looks toward a potential future with China as a member, Yunus' ideas on regional economic integration could help ensure that any large-scale projects benefit the people at the grassroots level, promoting inclusivity and equity. His leadership could also inspire SAARC to adopt more innovative, bottom-up solutions to the region's development challenges, making it a more people-centered organization.

The Government of India should re-establish good relations with the people of Bangladesh. There is no chance to isolate the whole of Bangladesh by keeping good relations only with Sheikh Hasina.
