RIP to Michael Clarke Duncan (John Coffey), Michael Jeter (Del) and Harry Dean Stanton (who played Toot-Toot, the goofy inmate who helped with rehearsing the execution). All three of these actors helped make this film special.
It's nice to see someone with some sense mentioning how he left us WAY too soon. That's what's really important in my opinion. Instead of talking about how he didn't get some easily forgotten award for his supporting role.
I can’t believe they were allowed to show a movie with child r*pe, child m**der, a man burning alive from a botched violent execution, etc… in high school. I was in Highschool in the late 90’s and I thought things were supposed to be LESS uptight then lol I’m not calling you a liar, bc that would be wrong and I don’t know for a fact, but I just don’t believe you. It would be illegal as well for a teacher to show an R rated film to anyone under 17.
Also, can we talk about Brutal? That man is a true ride or die friend. He's truly got a good heart and sees the good in everyone. We should all aspire to be more "brutal"
That's the aspect of this film that many people seem to forget. When one thinks "Green Mile", he has John Coffey in front of him. There is absolutely nothing wrong about this, but actually all characters in this movie are incredibly well developed and it is clear what kind of profound symbolism they convey! This movie is a masterpiece, enough said.
The last time I saw The Green Mile in the cinema, I cried a great deal too. This film has so much to say about how our consensus of life and death can be changed by something quite extraordinary. 😢
This is a three hour movie that feels like it's a half hour long even though you feel like you've been getting beat for a week when it's over. It's very wholesome to watch you all reacting in unison and more or less the same way throughout the entire movie.
Telling the parents of the little girls the truth would have only caused more pain because the parents had hired Wild Bill as a worker. If they found out he was the one who killed their little girls they would have had the pain of knowing that they brought the killer into their home and their mistake had caused their daughters deaths. John Coffey was a stranger and he had no family so taking the blame was the most merciful thing he could do to help ease the pain of the parents. Even when dying, by keeping that secret he was helping others to heal. I think that is what he wanted.
You're right in so many ways, but also remember during those times they would've never believed it unless they actually saw it. Many had the mind set of the lawyer or worse. That's why I can only smirk when he says "By a jury of your peers".
well, also add to that the realisation that the parents, judge, lawyers sent the wrong guy to death. It would've been a double burden of guilt- unintentionally bringing death to your kids and killing an innocent man.
@@JITKanno0 The system did NOT fail John Coffey.. lack of evidence and witnesses to the horrific crimes against the girls is what failed to make a compelling case for John. Not to mention that Wild Bill was dead and unable to confess. Thank you, C. Smith for presenting a much broader view.

Hello from Oregon, USA! I just stumbled across your channel today and watched a few of your reactions. It feels so different from other channels I've watched. Your genuine emotions make your movie reactions both moving and meaningful. They actually helped me let out emotions of my own while watching. Thank you, and keep being your authentic selves!
I find it SO inspiring that ALL OF YOU HOMIES are watching this movie, TOGETHER. It HUMANIZES ME to see you laugh, cry and feeling EMOTIONAL about this THOUGHT PROVOKING film.
Thank you homie lady's for watching the green mile with me. Your reactions were beautiful, like watching the lights on a Christmas tree. God bless you 4 peace.
I read this book before it came out on DVD in 1999. I was in high school in my study hall hour, in America that's a class just for catching up on home work or whatever. I can remember vividly reading the end and tearing up. A couple guys saw me and immediately pounced on me calling me a and I quote, "A faggy book worm". It affected me so much that I stuffed my emotions down for years. I was only 15. It took so many years to get past what others thought of my emotions. Now? I tear up just like you guys at stuff like this all the time. Just took time to realize they were assholes, and I was just showing my emotions.
Wow, I'm so sorry you had to experience that. Some people are just that, a-holes. Nobody should ever have to be afraid to show emotions. Happy for you that you were able to overcome this.

Something a lot of people overlook... The average lifespan of a mouse (like Mr. Jingles) is 5-7 years. Mr. Jingles was first noticed when Paul was around 44 (no telling how old Mr. Jingles was at the time). Paul said that he was 44 when John was executed and was currently 108 (64 years had passed). That means that Mr. Jingles has lived about 9 times his normal lifespan. The average lifespan of a male is around 77 years. Imagine.... if Paul lives for the same 9 times a normal lifespan, he will quite possibly live to be around 693 years old. His Green Mile is very, very long.
There is a movie called Warlock from 1959. It is a western. I know you do not normally react to westerns but this is an amazing movie. The actors are brilliant, and the main reason I love the movie is how the main characters change positions during the course of the movie. Very well done. Hope you get to watch it.

Paul and the other guards don't have power or authority to stop the execution. You need to understand that this is the 1930's in the American South. All the guards would lose their jobs and possibly go to prison.
@@markhennessy7598 No, they have no choice. If they tell the truth, who is going to believe them, besides he is black, in the south of the United States and in the 30s, no one will investigate or want to, if they do not execute him others will and if they help him escape they will be the ones who end up in a cell. State Dept. of Corrections Supply Room Steward at the end of the year does an audit of which prison facilities need what supplies for the coming year. Whether it be bedding, cleaning supplies, food or light bulbs. When going through the books from the different prisons in the state, getting ready to submit an order for each of the prisons, the steward made an interesting observation, the Cold Mountain Penitentiary had gone through more light bulbs this past summer than all the other penitentiaries combined. The numbers just didn't make any sense, how could one facility go through that many bulbs and what are they going to need for the upcoming year? Not being able to reconcile these riddles, he decides to call down to Cold Mountain, (where Johns Coffey was held and executed death row on the Green Mile) and when he finally got to talk to the custodian who takes care of the building, he was of little help. All the officers who were working that wing of the prison either quit or transferred to different jobs. The only thing which he did say that only left more questions than answers was, "it was probably because of a really bad thunderstorm which knocked out the lights." Which I guess would explain why they would need so many bulbs, but there is just one problem with this. This was in the 1930's during the Great Depression, during a time of great financial hardship, there also was no rain to speak of. Given the number of light bulbs that prison needed that year, there was no storms.
One of the best movies ever, for sure! That is, if "Shawshank Redemption" is not that one... Have you seen that? Both movies with author Stephen King and director Frank Darabont. Total magic!!😍I really enjoyed your reactions, thank you!
This is a very intresting movie. And Im so happy that The Homies took the time to react to it. In this movie we have this man coming here accused and jailed for a crime he did not commit. The only things he do is helping people. Healing them. Taking away their diseases. He later gets executed in the most gruesome way. For a crime of others. While some of the accusers in the audience mocks him and longing for his death, at the same time people standing around him knows that he is innocent. In this movie his name is John Coffey (JC). Does this man remind you of anyone? Over 2000 years ago, a man came and he went around, healing people. Also removing their diseases and only did good. But they jailed and mocked him while he walked towards his death. And while others knew that he was an innocent man, they still killed him in the most horrible way imaginable for the sins of others. That man was Jesus Christ (JC). This is what people do. People will always hate and kill what they do not understand. Stephen King is a believer in God. And I do think that he did an awesome job with the character of John Coffey. And you Homies did an awesome reaction. Bless all of you. 🌹
That's a BS comment, it's as bad as saying men are weak for crying 🤔. NOT everyone cries, and there are a lot that wish they could. I've worked in Psychology for 20 years and no one is wired the same. I've watched this film numerous times, actually think it's better than Shawshank but although I've felt sadness I have never cried, some of us feel sadness but either can't or don't express it by crying. Personally and having worked on several Police cases analyst for interviews I can state with a fact that TH-cam is FULL of people with problems, personality disorders much more than people who don't use social media. How many times do you get a comment like " reminds me when I lost my Father In Iraq, followed by several gullible " sorry for your loss or my brother died in Fallujah" etc. A study I read said that people with full healthy lives with REAL solid rewarding relationships are much less likely to use social media and especially TH-cam. The comments from people who seem to watch reaction videos again and again isn't healthy. If you need that, then your life is missing things like solid person to person relationships, often full time employment, good family relationships, an active and healthy life. It's sad the amount of people mentioning " beautiful women and pets as if to say anyone that doesn't relate to animals must have a heart of stone. 100% there is an element of acting , end of the day it's about the success of the TH-cam channel and the $$$. That's all that's important to people. Oh I noticed the " I sub to around 700 channels " now that would concern me that someone isn't just addicted to internet/ social media but actual TH-cam interaction which we all know is often BS and insecure people making up fairly stories. Remember online you can be anyone. Anyway to conclude I'm In touch with my emotions,I feel sadness but mostly for the real injustice happening to real people. Films are a wonderful form of art but please don't blame the majority who probably Don't cry watching Green Mile. Personally I thought " Manchester by the sea hit a lot harder especially as it wasn't a story about a fantastic angelic character. Funny I don't often comment but This link appeared via a M C Duncan search. Anyway just pause this at 1.13 🤔😉 analyse the faces for a good few minutes ?. I take 24 hours every week off line and a week in the summer on vacation. While the net has it's benefits it is equally harmful and misleading and people making BOLD statements about IE ( people who don't express sadness with tears have a heart of stone ) 😂..
@@Jackferrett6781True , not everyone does. But remember it's TH-cam so full of written in stone FACTS, just as there are plenty of these reaction videos with a fair use of ( Tear sticks ,Tear blowers and eye droppers etc ). I'm not a pesimist just a realist and the majority have a TH-cam channel for the single reason of $$$$$,😉 actually think that's A FACT 😊
The paradox, but any movie by the remarkable and outstanding director Frank Darabont, according to books by not less remarkable and outstanding writer Stephen King, was not awarded Oscar 😶 And, above all to me is UNCLEAR as it was possible to leave SUCH outstanding, remarkable and first-class (and it is only a small part of those epithets which deserves) a game of the actor Michael Clark Duncan?! I consider that he nevertheless should be awarded with posthumous Oscar. Perhaps for merits before a kinoisskustvo, or some else nomination. But the main thing that it will be fair!
awww the last line was cut out, when he says, "if he could make a mouse live so long, how long do I have left?" An important line. Mice only live for 6 to 7 years if they aren't killed first. Any one wonder how old John Coffey might have been? How did he obtain those powers? Was he just born that way?
Per the defense attorney, 'he just fell out of the sky'! He was possessed of magical healing powers... He was able to sense the hate & anger of the world around him... He was convicted of a crime he didn't commit & executed by the government... His initials were J.C....
Green Mile wow the first reaction was a year ago but not in groups and today we have a group reaction here now ; I saw the pain for those prisioners that the have been killed in the electric chair. John Coffee will be in our hearts ♥️ 🎞💯👌🏻you have a beautiful puppies 🐕 🐶🐾
Everyone thinks this was Michael Clarke Duncan's start The Green Mile 1999 but he was introduced to casting by Bruce Willis after they did Armageddon 1998
For another emotional blockbuster, I highly recommend the COLOR PURPLE, one of Speilbergs best. You will laugh, cry. Get angry, and be uplifted all at once.
John had the Shining, just like Danny and just like the kids in the Losers club in IT, the kid in The Dark Tower stories that I will always believe is a parallel Bill, and tons of other King characters.
I would STRONGLY urge anyone, including these young ladies, to read/listen to the unabridged novel. So much that was left out of the movie makes the novel great.
They can't stop because the execution is set for a specific time to allow for last second interventions by the state governor or reprieves of sentence due to appeals processes. And also because a delay allows the prisoner to become agitated and struggle against the straps potentially damaging the chair and delaying the operation of the death row wing of the prison.
John Coffey uses Percy to punish "Wild Billy" for what he's done, knowing that with Billy dead there will be no way to exonerate himself of that crime, which seals his fate, and he welcomes it. Ironically, it also serves as punishment for Percy for his own cruelty.
They couldn't stop Dels execution because doing so would mean they would have to stop, and do it again. It was actually better for Del if they let it finish. That scene is the second most emotional part of the movie. I hate that that pos did him that way.
I am an old Australian white straight guy in his late 50s. Privelege is granted to me. I sub to around 700 channels and probably seen around 30 Green Mile reactions. I still leak tears every time. So I know reactions. You guys are somewhat unique. Thre is no cool tech analysis of the movie, but that is not why I really watch reactions. It is cool when it happens, just not here. Why do I think this reaction is any different from the countless others? These are no particular order. 1) The length is longer than normal. 2) You take comfort in pets 3) You support each other, you hold hands, your shoulders are touching. 4) Not afraid of showing tears. 5) Accents are charming (Ignorant Aussie here, is it Russian?) I look forward to watching other reactions.
Ladies When Percy didn't soak the sponge before placing on top of Del's head, he just violated main rule during execution. He could be charged with felony cruel and unusual punishment because Del suffered the pain thru the execution. Now, that's why lethal injection is use in executions.
You girls are absolutely adorable. I'm hooked. 💕 Ellie, you have a very big, and tender, heart. Your reactions make me tear up just watching you. How are you still single?!!!
I think the only reason people cry for Dale is cause they don't know what he did to be there. The book tells us, he gr*ped and murdered a woman, then tried to burn her body behind an orphanage. Set the building on fire and burned like a dozen children to death.
An excellent movie and a super reaction, I am never seen you ladies so effected by a movie before. This is part of why you guys are so good at this, you let your real feelings show, great job.
Everyone feels sorry for Del. In the novel, they explained that he raped and murdered and eight year old girl, set the body on fire to hide any evidence. The fire spread to an apartment building and a dozen people burned to death. But we don't learn that in the movie because they wanted the audience to pity him.
As i said i n my comment above, ELLE saw this last yr for the channel and I guess Michelle saw it and looks like the girl on left saw it also from the comments they made of recalling events that happened in the film.
RIP to Michael Clarke Duncan (John Coffey), Michael Jeter (Del) and Harry Dean Stanton (who played Toot-Toot, the goofy inmate who helped with rehearsing the execution). All three of these actors helped make this film special.
Harry Dean Stanton was a great actor. Immortalized by the names of the prison guard characters, HARRY Terwilliger and DEAN STANTON.

John Coffey sings his favorite song before he dies when they strap him and tells the guy not to put him in the dark. He start saying " I'm in heaven"
One of the best movies ever, for sure! That is, if "Shawshank Redemption" is not that one... Have you seen that? Both movies with author Stephen King and director Frank Darabont. Total magic!!😍I really enjoyed your reactions, thank you!
Yous ladies are amazing reactions to this unforgettable movie😪it brings me tears everytime i watch it😪😪🥺❤❤ R.I.P Michael clark Duncan💗💗💓💗💞

This part, he's not choking on it, but he's swallowing it, to keep it down,
not let it out, because he knows what he has to do with it, later.
Ive seen this movie over a dozen times and still cry at the end
Whoever isn't crying by the end of the movie isn't a person I need in my life. Good reaction ladies.
You can’t make someone cry
I didn't realize until someone pointed out that John Coffey + JC = Jesus Christ. It makes sense because John is a healer.
awww the last line was cut out, when he says, "if he could make a mouse live so long, how long do I have left?" An important line.
*These Girls Are So Emotional.*
Everyone thinks this was Michael Clarke Duncan's start The Green Mile 1999 but he was introduced to casting by Bruce Willis after they did Armageddon 1998
didn't you guys see this one already?
In the book and movie of course
Rest In Peace Michael Clarke Duncan who Plays John Coffey.
A mouse can live up to two years. Mr. Jingles lived at least 64 years in the Green Mile movie .How long could Paul live given that fact.
Fred Astaire Ginger Rodgers, probably the finest dancers, ever. They did movies together for proly 20 years!
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers 😁
What an Emotional roller Coaster this movie takes you on . Great Reaction Ladies
Four sad faces. Four warm hearts.
I would STRONGLY urge anyone, including these young ladies, to read/listen to the unabridged novel. So much that was left out of the movie makes the novel great.
You all ought to scope out "Message In A Bottle" and "The Notebook". I suspect you'll like them.
You guys are gonna love this movie. It's called "Happy Feet" it's a cute and musical movie. They even have a second movie. Please see it. Right now!
If it hasn't been mentioned yet, this story is an ingenious retelling of the myth of Longinus, the Centurion.
12:27 in the south we call them lightning bugs
My reaction to Ed’s bad death, is I screamed. I saw the cinema version. That was too much
I love it when the doggo's make an appearance. I wanna grab you all up and group bear hug you :)
😅😅😅omg these chicks crying watching this movie made my day. Thanks
John Coffey uses Percy to punish "Wild Billy" for what he's done, knowing that with Billy dead there will be no way to exonerate himself of that crime, which seals his fate, and he welcomes it. Ironically, it also serves as punishment for Percy for his own cruelty.
WHEW!!! 😭 My tear ducts get a workout everytime I watch this film...Idc how many times I see it. Lol! 😢😢😢
i'd like to give all four of you ladies a hug 🙂 greetings from key west
They couldn't stop Dels execution because doing so would mean they would have to stop, and do it again. It was actually better for Del if they let it finish. That scene is the second most emotional part of the movie. I hate that that pos did him that way.
But at least let's admit Doug Robison made him one of the most-hated movie villains of all time!
John Coffey...Thank you for so much; sorry for so little 😭😭😭😭😭😭
This fucking movie always gets me
I am an old Australian white straight guy in his late 50s.
2) You take comfort in pets
3) You support each other, you hold hands, your shoulders are touching.
4) Not afraid of showing tears.
5) Accents are charming (Ignorant Aussie here, is it Russian?)
I look forward to watching other reactions.
Please watch a movie with Trixy and Magy. The reactor who cried the most during this movie is Ashley Burton. She could hardly talk after the movie.
Ladies
When Percy didn't soak the sponge before placing on top of Del's head, he just violated main rule during execution. He could be charged with felony cruel and unusual punishment because Del suffered the pain thru the execution. Now, that's why lethal injection is use in executions.
You girls are absolutely adorable. I'm hooked. 💕
Ellie, you have a very big, and tender, heart. Your reactions make me tear up just watching you. How are you still single?!!!
I like how the future generations still watch this movie even though they werent born when this movie released.
I love watching reaction videos to movies I enjoyed. You four ladies are so cute and made this a great watch. Enjoy the weekend 😊
So happy I saw this at theaters the first time :)
Great reaction. And all of your tears are a beautiful thing.
you guys should watch Angela’s Ashes. very raw film and performances. always got me
Everyone feels sorry for Del. In the novel, they explained that he raped and murdered and eight year old girl, set the body on fire to hide any evidence. The fire spread to an apartment building and a dozen people burned to death. But we don't learn that in the movie because they wanted the audience to pity him.
Well Percy can say that they all watched him get sexually assaulted and they did nothing. The hypocrisy in this movie was done right.
You ladies should change your name from homies react to big hearted ladies react. I really enjoy watching you react, keep it up.
Such heartbreaking scenes Dale and John
Enjoyed your reaction and always will. Beautiful Queens
Thank you ladies for watching this one again, a real heartbreaker, but you make the movie better not watching it alone, thank you for the tears 😭
Didn’t y’all already react to this movie?
As i said i n my comment above, ELLE saw this last yr for the channel and I guess Michelle saw it and looks like the girl on left saw it also from the comments they made of recalling events that happened in the film.
Love all u amazing girls! Thanx 4 another beautiful, real, heartfelt reaction! Always sendin good vibes ur way, from Australia xo 🥰💜🇦🇺💚😘
I love your reactions your all amazing but what i love the most is the way you all cuddle and stroke your dogs So adorible ❤
Stephen King said it wasn't a coincidence that John Coffey's initials were JC.
I absolutely love you ladies ❤
You girls have wonderful souls ❤
John is every good and moral black man in America. P.S. An if John lawyer wasn't so immoral maybe John might have healed his son. PRAISE YAHWEH!!!!!!!
Guys, this movie is AMAZING! also, you guys should watch "Bullet Train", from Brad Pitt. It's very good
This episode should have been sponsored by Kleenex Tissues...you have to be stone cold if you don't drop a few tears watching this.
I got completely distracted towards the end with your dog’s obsession of sucking your fingers and you being all casual about it. 😂😂
I didn't see this at the thearter, but always wonder if everybody leaving was wiping tears and blowing noses.
You guy got to be the most epathic women its wonderful to see such focused women.love y'all's reactions
la meilleure adaptation de stephen king! et c'est rare! y'a marche ou crève en livre qui est très émouvant également!my first book!
Even Michelle broke. Once again, an example of the power of this film.
