As an American from the South, I can honestly say that the most accurate part of this movie is that we will sit next to a complete stranger and end up telling our life story. I've done it to two people in the past month, and it's happened to me at least five times.
As someone who lives in the northeast. We would stopped you before u started. We are some get to the point ppl here. We don't wanna hear a story starting when u were a twinkle in you're father's eye
According to Tom Hanks, Forrest’s speech was as follows: “Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don’t go home at all. That’s a bad thing. That’s all I have to say about that.”
You cut out arguably the best/sweetest line, where Forrest says (about his son, when first meeting him), "Is his smart or is he like..." and points to himself. He's immediately concerned for his child and wants him to be as smart as possible, which in the end absolutely doesn't matter if he's even half the kind, genuine, honest man his father is.
forrest would have loved him either way.... but he knows from his own experience, it makes life more difficult, and he just wants his son to be happy.. and have a good life...
It’s one of the rare moments Forrest lets on that he is self aware and just how painful it is and how aware he is of his struggles. It’s a testament to his mother’s love in how she taught and raised him, it’s a testament of his pureness and determination, his perseverance that he doesn’t let it appear to bother him, rather he chooses to press forward. But in the moment when it crossed his mind that someone else might have to go through life and experience the hardship that he has, it stung in the worst way.
Bubba saying “I wanna go home” will live with me forever. I still remember watching it for the first time and being heartbroken for days thinking about that scene
Gosh girls, had me all emotional. As a single dad of 3 amazing daughters, losing my mom recently to cancer and going through some pre-court stuff fighting for custody of my daughters I’ve come to realize life has its ups and downs , truly but if you step back as rough as it is, there’s beauty in your life and an unknown happiness ahead. Life’s been rough lately but I’d do every bit of rough over a million times to have an extra day with my daughters, they’re the light in my life regardless of what happens they always light my way with Love. ❤️❤️❤️ missing them like crazy tonight so Thankyou for the happy video. 💜
Forrest Gump one of those movies that always hits so hard and always makes you cry no matter how many times you watch it 💔 Forrest lost his mom, his best friend and the love of his life just like that and in the middle of all the pain he always found a way to make it through it
The reason for Jenny always leaving, wasn't because of her lack of loving Forrest, but because she loved hom so much. Because of her traumatic growing up with her father, she probably felt she never deserved Forrest's love and thought she would just disappoint him. Her trauma would also explain her doing drugs and searching/traveling for something and not realizing the answer was Forrest.
Jenny ran because her shit father molested her. All she did was run. But Forest was always there for her. She didn't think she deserved Forest. That's what can happen to people who go through things like that. They think there garbage and broken and deserve nothing. I wish people would stop ripping on her.
@@Wesleech No, she prefers more exciting men & a more enjoyable life than she'd have with him. Nice guys are routinely rejected, and it's not because they're 'too good'.
Jenny was smart enough to know better. She used a mentally challenged man for an emotional support blanket knowing full well the damage she was doing to his psyche. She was a self centered junkie who kept a man's son from him until she needed his house as hospice and Forrest to suddenly be a full time dad. (Get a DNA test Forrest.) Jenny is for the streets

When you watch the Movie as an adult those words hit harder and you realize she is right....My mom passed away in 2019 and my childhood bestfriend recently passed away, I'm going through an array of emotions and grief I never thought I would ever experience as a young innocent child. I don't know if you know the context or not, but when Jenny was saying that her virus was "unknown", it was intended to imply that she died of Aids. Back in that time frame, for a long time, it was an unknown virus and it was unknown how to treat for it.
Like the other commenter said, she actually had Hep C as confirmed by the author. @Calvelozark yeah, i get that..but watching them as a group. It's just not the same as watching them separately seeing the movie for 1st time. It's very obvious when you already know the outcome of the movie.
Didn't see anyone else mention it so the reason why you think the actor who played Forrest, Jr. was someone you recognized is because this is the same kid who starred in The Sixth Sense as the kid who sees ghosts. Obviously even early on he was a good actor.
Robert Zemeckis sure knows, how to put transmutation of traumas, on the screen, in a digestible form. It's so needed, by nearly everyone, there's no wonder his films (most of them), are, universal-ly, considered "perfect".
Shows you don,t need a high i.q. to succeed, fate works out in funny ways.i loke it all 4 sitting watching "Forrest gump".poor ellie crying every time a happy moment comes up.
Fun fact. The All-American team was formed in December of 1963. Kennedy was assassinated in November of the same year. So there was no way they could meet him
This is just one of the greatest movies of all time. Makes my eyes sweat every damn time😭 but the part when he finds out he has a son and he is so self aware his immediate concern is if little Forrest is mentally handicapped or not. That and when he's talking to Jenny at her grave... buckets if tears 😭😭
Amazing movie, so many life affirming messages. Story, acting and music all first class. I believe Forrest was right, we float around as we go through life, but the wind which moves us is destined to blow one way, then the other, moving us to places and to meet people and do things we're meant to
It seems so hard for people to understand Jenny but she was a broken soul and was not someone who could love completely and with commitment while dealing with her demons of sexual abuse and neglect; as a survivor of sexual abuse myself I know for a fact it can take years...a lifetime even to deal with it. Some people can find peace and heal and there are some who never find that peace. Child abuse in all forms including sexual abuse cripples a person and is an unseen handicap for most people. The way Jenny handled things with Forest is not surprising but pretty text book behavior for someone who endured a child hood she did. In the end she did come home and did ask Forrest to forgive her for her behavior its just so sad they didn't have enough time to live out their lives together. Love this movie and love your channel huge fan from Oklahoma USA!!
When the taxi driver asks Jenny where is she running off to. She says she is not running. She is going to get cleaned up. The next time you see her, she's not doing drugs; she is the waitress who turns to she Forrest running across the country in the second year. At that time she had already had little Forrest. She couldn't get in touch with him as he had been running for three years. Finally he goes home and gets the letter to come see her.
Lt. Dan's wife was a Vietnamese woman. 😊 After fighting in Vietnam - this gave him the closure that he desperately needed. And when Jenny's old house was demolished - it gave closure to her story as well. All stories need closure. ❤ It was a fitting end for both of them. ❤ A beautiful ending to all that tragedy.
Great movie. You should watch Big Tom Hanks breakout role which today is not overly reacted to. Also ther is Punch Line where Tom Hank has a love interest with Sally Field who plays his mother in this movie.
Why not watch a classic movie that none of you have seen????? Like: Chinatown A Clockwork Orange Apocalypse Now L.A. Confidential Boogie Nights Taxi Driver Carlitos Way Carrie Fargo 12 Monkeys 2001 Raging Bull There Will Be Blood The Deer Hunter Pan's Labyrinth Sling Blade Requiem for a Dream Dolores Claiborne Angel Heart The Wrestler etc?
1. The music rights alone must have cost a small fortune💲💲 2. Having gotten his degree Forrest would have gone into the Army as an officer like Lt. Dan. Not a recruit. Unfortunately, his ASVAB kills that. 3. He actually saved Lt Dan twice. Once in the field and again to get him out of his post war funk and Dan turned his life around. 4. Jenny did indeed give him the best gift ever (it wasn't the shoes)😋 5. Jenny died of Hep-C from dirty needles when she was in Caliphony.. 6. It's ironic that Lt. Dan told the guys to take care of their feet because he loses his. 7. You have had a ride through recent US history and culture. From Elvis to John Lennon, Abby Hoffman, Vietnam and even the jogging craze of the 70's. 8. "Normal" enlisted Army soldiers know when their enlistment is up. 9. "Sometimes I guess there're aren't enough rocks" 10. Haley Joel Osmentt/Forrest Jr. steals the show in "The Sixth Sense" with Bruce Willis. 11. Often when he's finishing a segment about death, he ends it by saying "That's all I have to say about that" 12. In the book Forrest isn't always that nice of a guy.
I vote this the best of all Forrest Gump reaction videos. You are so empathetic and don't judge Jenny for acting the way she does, but are happy for her that she ultimately lived a happy, if short, life with Forrest. By the way, I think that the last time Jenny left Forrest, she decided to change her life. That's why she didn't contact him immediately and say that she was pregnant by him. She wanted to master her life herself.
LOVE this movie, its on my top 5-10 movies ever made.. LOVE the dogs as well. here are my top movies that you all have not seen....rainman, road to perdition, and planet of the apes (1968)version.. I guarentee you that you will love them!. Keep the reactions/reviews coming!!.
Millionaire back then, is billionaire now. Remember that the next time you see the scene where the guy questions whether he's the owner of Bubba Gump shrimp co. at all, and laughable says "we were sitting next to a millionaire". It might not be as impressive to newer viewers, but it's like sitting down and Bill Gates is next to you.
Do you remember what Jenny said to Forrest when he asked her to marry him? She said, "You don't want me." Jenny was broken and was still suffering from all the abuse she received as a child. She didn't considered herself worthy of a good and nice man. She felt that all she deserved was the worst that life had to offer because she considered herself worthless and ruined. I believe she was an early victim and died from the AIDS virus.
Jenny. One of the most misunderstood characters in cinema history. Not many fully appreciate the lasting impact of childhood abuse and I think this film did such a good job of portraying it that audiences just didn't really get it. She didn't use Forrest, she was trying to stay away from him specifically to avoid using him. She could have stayed with him and lived easily, but she didn't really love him the same way he loved her because she didn't love herself, and she knew she could never grow and heal by staying with him and that she would end up hurting him if she did. SO she leaves him, always keeping him at a safe distance away from the aspects of her life he could never understand. She's one of the most rich and compelling characters I've ever seen on screen, there is a rawness and fallibility to her. She seeks out abusive men, she tries to escape pain through spirituality and drugs, she's suicidal and she routinely self-harms by turning away from help. She has a gaping wound in her soul and that no amount of folksy wholesomeness will fill either. It's easy to love Forrest because he never really challenges our sympathy, he never does anything we disagree with out of pain or fear, so naturally juxtaposed with an incredibly complex character like Jenny it makes her seem cruel to act the way she does.
@@andrewjones575 The line where Jenny says "You don't know what love is" is the key to understanding her character. What she really means is that SHE doesn't know what love is. She wasn't shown love in her family, which is how people learn what love is & how to love other people... Forrest's mom definitely loves him & shows him how to love other people. The turning point for her is when she has her son. She finally learns what it means to love someone else, namely her son. That's what makes her apologize to Forrest, admit that she was "messed up for a long time" & ask him if he'll marry her.
Maybe Jenny left cause she felt she didn't deserve Forrest, or that she didn't trust herself, an that she would go back to her old ways, and hurt Forrest.
People never seem to understand Jenny, she left Forrest because she thought she was useless and would bring him down . She felt like she wasn't good enough for anyone to love and it wasn't until she had little Forrest that she found some measure of self worth and allowed herself to love without expecting the worse. EDIT: I can see by many of the responses that many have no idea what PTSD does to a person . It strips away your feeling self worth, makes you question why you deserve anything, why you are even here, why someone would ever really want to love you. It makes you run from everything until you find a way to face it. BTW there were very very few resources to help someone like Jenny in the 70's, unlike today. Jenny's PTSD started as a child and that is even harder to overcome. PTSD is no joke and is so much more than most people actually realize.....

The irony of the bullying was that without it Forrest would not have sat with Jenny or realized his ability to run. These two events changed his destiny and he became more than just a village idiot. He became a hero.
I'm OLD enough to have lived-thru-most of this movie (Elvis, Wallace, Bear Bryant, Blacks Only Restrooms, Kennedy, , Missle Crisis, Dealy Plaza, Johnson, Vietnam (the draft, friends dying, Protesting the War, etc.), Nixon, Ping Pong Diplomacy, Watergate, etc. ! the 2nd time a person watches a movie..I just think the reaction are less intense and natural. Because you already know what happened.
Ellie: Why Didn't You Meet Them Earlier?
Michelle: Cuz He Was Running!
😅🤣
I cannot believe you all are only reacting to this now! I thought you already did it earlier.
They have this movie on here 4 times.
I believe Forrest was right, we float around as we go through life, but the wind which moves us is destined to blow one way, then the other, moving us to places and to meet people and do things we're meant to
and rely on random luck.
This is a Masterpiece.🔴❤️🙏👌👍❤️😉😃😁💚🟢
Forrest’s son is in The Sixth Sense that you watched.
I love watchin you ladies react to classic films . Beautiful silly and fun 🤩
Viki, please don't cry. It breaks me every time I see it. 😭
That girl with the red hair is soulless hahaha
Lt. Dan's wife was a Vietnamese woman. 😊
After fighting in Vietnam - this gave him the closure that he desperately needed.

I like how only the one on the right doesn't five a fuck when jenny dies
emotions the women have makes me wanna give them all a hug. ellie not even sec into a movie I know she was going to be a wreck

1. The music rights alone must have cost a small fortune💲💲
4. Jenny did indeed give him the best gift ever (it wasn't the shoes)😋
9. "Sometimes I guess there're aren't enough rocks"
10. Haley Joel Osmentt/Forrest Jr. steals the show in "The Sixth Sense" with Bruce Willis.
11. Often when he's finishing a segment about death, he ends it by saying "That's all I have to say about that"
Love you all watching together ❤
Life goal for everyone: Find someone that will love you like Forrest loves Jenny. Also, that your love for them is as a pure and nurturing.
It's so awesome for them to react to this movie again (this time all 4 together)
She died from Hep C in the books. the Movies made it seem more like it was HIV/AIDS though.
5:36: Most adults at the time thought Elvis’ gyrations were too sexual. You ladies should watch this year’s Elvis film. Tom Hanks is also in it!
33:09 synchronized waving... Thank you. That means a lot.
I love that you are all dog lovers.
Great channel😎
Wait so many Puppies. This might be your cutest video ever
You may want to check out "A Charlie Brown Christmas". It's a cute cartoon special
Watching the two ladies on the left holding hands and getting so emotional throughout the movie, was so mesmerizing. Absolutely loved watching.
Did you notice when Jenny asked Forrest to marry her that *birds* were singing? 🕊
Aww, the dog on the right looks just like our lab mix, Everett.
God bless Ellie she’s always rubbing a puppy. She’s the Pup-father.

I seen someone request the movie Radio, I agree.. That movie is really good, also Shooter for a good action movie
Christmas Vacation and maybe Bad Santa are must watch for christmas.
She rejects him due to viewing him as boring. To claim that she rejects him due to thinking he's too good for her is ridiculous.
Very well said, especially for you being an idiot on the internet
@@andrewjones575 The line where Jenny says "You don't know what love is" is the key to understanding her character. What she really means is that SHE doesn't know what love is.
She wasn't shown love in her family, which is how people learn what love is & how to love other people... Forrest's mom definitely loves him & shows him how to love other people.
The turning point for her is when she has her son. She finally learns what it means to love someone else, namely her son. That's what makes her apologize to Forrest, admit that she was "messed up for a long time" & ask him if he'll marry her.
@@uuhhhahahahahajahahha Who's a child?
Did any of you notice that Jenny is Wonder Woman’s aunt? 😎
You've already seen this movie!
I recommend "Dance with wolves" with Kevin Costner.
Jenny didn’t think her love for Forest was real because she thought she was abusing him the way her father abused her.
Don't hate Jenny for leaving; she was drug addicted and needed rehab.
Soon to die helps too.
Took me awhile to fully grasp that.
Because the father sexually abused her, the reference is subtle….
I don't understand how many times they react to movies they have already watched???? And why are you people supporting them on this??? This Is a cheap way to MILK views and you all.
@@tanelviil9149 yeah, look at all the previous unique movies they've watched over time, how dare they rewatch one so my entitled self can whine..😑
Winner of 6 Oscars including Best Picture.
And three Golden Globes winner at 52nd Golden Globe Awards
I don't understand how many times they react to movies they have already watched???? And why are you people supporting them on this??? This Is a cheap way to MILK views and you all.
The irony of the bullying was that without it Forrest would not have sat with Jenny or realized his ability to run. These two events changed his destiny and he became more than just a village idiot. He became a hero.
Michelle: 🤨 Lia: 🥺 Viki: 😢 Ellie: 😭
OMG that little dog is so cute. Sorry, don't care about the movie. That dog is the cutest thing I've ever seen..
Anytime I see Tom Hanks in anything Turner&Hooch always pops in my head lol that's in my top 5 !
There aren’t enough tissues in the world to get Ellie through the ending.
54:18 what I will say when my grandma passes on
Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get
By watching this, you get to learn about important people and events in US history from the 1950s to the 1980s.
Las amo🤗 un abrazo grande a las 4. Desde Uruguay 🇺🇾🇺🇾
Pretty sure those are Canadians. We in the south usually don’t like to leave it. It’s cold and people are rude.
The dogs are so happy to be included 😊
Forrest went off running because Jenny left him; I can relate, men do that
I'm OLD enough to have lived-thru-most of this movie (Elvis, Wallace, Bear Bryant, Blacks Only Restrooms, Kennedy, , Missle Crisis, Dealy Plaza, Johnson, Vietnam (the draft, friends dying, Protesting the War, etc.), Nixon, Ping Pong Diplomacy, Watergate, etc. ! They wanted to make a 2nd movie carrying on from the 1st movie ending BUT they just couldn't get everybody together again ?? Great movie 30 years ago when young men and young women got together .got married and made the next generation - NOT LIKE TODAY ? :-)
You ladies need to watch other movies directed by Robert Zemeckis, like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and the Back To The Future trilogy.
One of the best movies ever made in my opinion
