    the new Holley pumps are so clean and easy to install I remember having to run 2 airplane fuel pumps in order to have 300 gallons a hour on a drag car I built in 1980. we had the standard on the fender rail aftermarket fair or the only thing that did what we needed in the heavy duty airplane parts. the market was in a massive slump in the 80's from the gas shortages so no one made the stuff we needed so we had to go with what we could get . I'm so happy to be able to see how the industry has come back with a passion in the last few years

      You haven't seen anything yet. Brushless pumps will outflow just about anything and really handle high pressure fuel systems as the aftermarket starts to adjust to DI.

    A 200gpm fass pump could do what all that stuff will and it come with water and air separation built into the filters.

      True!!! But when things are given to one for FREE you talk them up like there's no other!!! Now, not taking anything away from Holley but you can clearly tell Gale is going overboard in talking these up all cus it came to him FREE of CHARGE!!!!

    I remember trying to make a "sleeper" about 15 years ago.
    Then I added an aeromotive fuel pump under the trunk going to my fuel cell.... You could hear that thing buzzing 4 blocks away.

    The bigger 200Gph twin pump, only one side would need a check-valve in each to stop the reverse flow through the offline pump. I have seen twins before but were twin-12V setups, put both in parallel for 12V operation or put them in series for 24V systems.

    Why are we not using centrifugal pumps for the fuel lift pump? I don't even like centrifugal pumps but even I've got to admit that it's far better suited for continuous low pressure applications like this. Not to mention it would be smaller, have a much much longer life expectancy, and have a easily adjustable flow rate.

    How about adding an alternating relay on larger Holley pump as well to switch between constant pump and air density controlled pump each time the key is turned on in order to use each pump evenly as possible in order to maximize pump life? I like the set up. Those are all very nice products!

    Mr. Banks, you talk about filtration. What is your thoughts on the systems that claim to remove air from the diesel as well, such as the F.A.S.S. and Air Dog? Would they work as well as these Holley set ups in a pick up?

    Do you have a few Banks stickers laying around you don’t need? I have the Sidewinder kit on my F-250 King Ranch but there were no stickers. I just wanted to put on on my driver side rear window.

    So, to avoid some confusion to word on the street. Do these Duramax Diesel engines need some sort of Lift Pump added to them vs. leaving them in stock form? Many are saying they do and the advertisers are saying yes because they prevent hardware damage to injectors etc. by removing air from the fuel.

    What's your opinion on putting some kind of desiccant in the intake system to remove unwanted moisture?

    • @AmaroqStarwind
      @AmaroqStarwind 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lassi Kinnunen That depends... A silica-based aerogel can potentially absorb *A LOT* of humidity before it needs to be replaced.

    • @cencoast_7.340
      @cencoast_7.340 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I put 98 small bags of it in the intake of my powerstroke and it gained nearly 45 hp/155 lb.ft. of torque.

    • @AmaroqStarwind
      @AmaroqStarwind 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lassi Kinnunen It's to improve the density of the air going into the engine. Water vapor is less dense than air.

    • @AmaroqStarwind
      @AmaroqStarwind 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      805_Diesel You don't need to be sarcastic about it.

    • @AmaroqStarwind
      @AmaroqStarwind 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lassi Kinnunen I believe there are some types of desiccant that instead absorb heat in their operation, but I could be mistaken. I'll get back to you on that.
      Even if weight is an issue for vehicles, though, this system might be viable for stationary installations like emergency generators.

    Very nice hardware from Holley, but total sales pitch. I did love "Delta P", I suppose I never thought of that in "d/p" terminology (I knew about boost reference, just never thought about that term). Then again, I'm not a tuner like gale is.

    • @bankspower
      @bankspower  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not a sales pitch. We don't sell fuel pumps or filters. We're going to do a new Unboxing every week. Although it's possible Gale could potentially unbox a poor quality product, it's probably unlikely because why would we have ordered the part in the first place?

  • @XFolf

    Why would you bother using expensive and low power 12V pumps when you are in a workshop with three phase power? Surely a mains pressure pump with a nice adjustable pressure regulator would have been ten times the bang for the buck? Makes no sense to me.
