    You are the MOST useful 7d2d youtuber there is. All the others just feel like streams running around playing the game. If I wanted to watch someone playing the game, I would play the game and watch myself play it. You provide tested, and useful information that make it possible for others to understand the game mechanics and block structures. It's CRIMINAL how few people are Subbed to you, and I hope that this changes quickly. Sub folks and share. This content creator provides us with actual useful content. I've used his designs before and they have NOT failed me. I broke one of them simply due to game stage and having 5 additional people inside the base when it was designed for 2. Every design I've used from this creator has held up exactly as tested. Keep the content coming and let's get this man greater exposure.

  • @skyknight6467
    @skyknight6467 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    In your last video you showed the new 4 way block for drooping and blocking zombies. I found a good way to use that block. To maximize melee ease (especially with groups) you can pair it with the ramp block. if you face the slope of two ramp blocks towards each other so they make a V you can lower yourself to make melee much easier. Face two of the pole 4 ways (+) on one side of the V with a narrow way for zombies to get to the + fighting position then melee fighters can dip down into the V and get very close for some great mid to lower body melee or just dogs and crawlers. I pair this with full blocks behind the V on the opposite side from the + with full blocks topper with pole plates. You can add pole plate half on top of the rear ramp to give a closer position for the shooter or shooters. The ramp blocks seem to stop Cop sighting at least in my testing. The back of the V next to the full blocks with pole plates doesn't strictly need to be a ramp other blocks work even full blocks but it's easier to get into and looks cooler. If that doesn't make sense I can show you in my test world if needed or through pictures or a video.

    11:04 You probably could use lighter blocks (wood instead of beton) for the los-blocking blocks like on the floor and back of the resting area so the base won't collapse and save 4 blocks of these support tubes. Also, do you really need 1x2x2 area to stay afk? With 1x1x2 standing area you'll save another 8 blocks, right?

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You are correct! There are probably some ways to reduce the mass with lighter blocks and do a smaller standing area. I think you could get under 40 blocks if you were to do that.

    Used the setup from one of your previous videos on the pole 4-way, and it worked quite well! Though, I did forget I had a modlet to add the behemoths in that were scrapped in A16/A17, so that threw a wrench in my plans. It still held up despite only being 50/50 cobblestone and concrete, but my buddy and I went through a LOT of ammo. Next horde, it will be reinforced steel, and I'll have a path in the middle of the roof for the behemoths to fit. Should work nicely :) Thanks for this awesome content!

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm happy that the designs have worked out for you and have inspired you to do some of your own testing! You can certainly adapt this design for a fighting base. A couple ideas that I just gave to another viewer is to either remove the front blocks so you can shoot at them as they come over the slide. Another idea would be to use the design as a dropper and have them fall into a pit so you can shoot/grenade the hell out of them.

  • @Oktokolo

    There is one drawback to the ramp 6m 03: It is harder to traverse as a player than the wedge narrow of the 4-block series. So if your AFK loop is also your main entrance (and why wouldn't it), you have a harder time running that path yourself.

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is a trade off with the wedge narrow vs the the ramp 6m 03. It is steeper and more efficient at dropping zombies at the cost of doubling as a viable entrance.

  • @d4cto
    @d4cto 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    That is elegant. Though there is two issues:
    Forest biome cities cannot have tier 4 or 5 buildings which means there is barely any three+ storie buildings in the forest city which means to find a decently tall building one might have to go into any other biome which means much higher gamestage which can be problematic early on.
    Second issue is performance. Forest horde bases are much more suited for not so good PCs because there is barely anything to calculate other than zombies, but doing a 64 max spawns in a city might be painful.
    But other than that it is genuinely genius and I might build something like this with the exception that I want to rain down explosive arrows down to where zombies fall.

    • @TGlovescultistchan
      @TGlovescultistchan 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      An easy enough solution is to just build a simple tower that has the zombies run long enough they exit rage mode and fall at least 11-12 blocks before hitting the ground. Yes it will use more materials, but is a simple issue to solve. The overall design doesn't change.

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Forest might be a bit trickier to find a suitable building though early game, a 1 or 2 story POI is perfectly suitable. I think the first reply you got is certainly doable if you would rather build your own simple tower in the middle of nowhere. More materials, but it would still be rather simple. Speaking of middle of nowhere, some ranger stations are rather tall so that could also be a potential build site.

    • @d4cto
      @d4cto 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@pseudoposse taking advantage of a ranger station is genuinely a very good idea, though I think it might be a bit trickier.

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@d4cto It might be a bit tricker as some of the ranger station stairs are broken so it would require some repair work and reinforcement. But it would save you a lot of time and resources in the long run from making your own tower.

    • @petergreening1334
      @petergreening1334 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fire station 3 should work for this (remove the roof of the bell tower and build on top of that) and if you build a way up to the roof on that side of the building you can separate it from the rest of the building so you can still use it as a crafting base. you just have to replace the spiral stairs from the ground floor to the first floor so the dire wolves can get up

  • @darenabryant9100
    @darenabryant9100 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The secret is to not leave any kind of edge for them to collide with. Any block that flushes up with the edge of the slide blocks would probably work... even more slide blocks.
    Also, I feel like outside of debug mode, this base would want to have a slightly more accessible entrance point. A single hatch surrounded by spikes that you have to destroy every morning seems kind of inefficient.

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Edges, sharp corners and contours are the zombie kryptonite. I am not sure if you noticed, but when I did the last horde at the end, I didn't cover the entire roof with spikes as I regretted that decision. It wasn't shown but for the first horde test, i entered the base not in god mode and lost nearly half my health :D
      But yeah, you definitely don't need to cover the entire roof so you can leave yourself a way to get out.

      Welcome to the game! You only get experience if you directly kill zombies or you have perked into Advanced Engineering under intelligence in which case electric traps can net you a percentage of experience from a trap kill.

    since all players have access to a cheat menu and very customizable game settings / mods, it was always unclear to me why people are so attracted to cheese builds.
    Its also weird that the Fun Pimps are so determined to fix all of these broken loop behaviors every time they add a new block type. what is the point?
    If you don't enjoy them, you can just turn off blood moons entirely / make them less frequent. seems to me like a pointless battle neither side should be fighting so hard for. :)
    Edit:
    well, i kinda get it... finding exploits as a player is fun, and watching them in viral videos as a dev may be frustrating/embarrassing.
    also, i watched and commented on this video, so i guess talking about this is interesting, even if my previous points are valid.

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For me you hit the nail on the head where you said it is fun to find the exploits. I love doing all the testing, and optimizing to find the perfect cheese base which is an enjoyable process to me. When I actually play, I prefer to fight the horde but everyone has different tastes which the game fortunately allows. The Fun Pimps have nerfed some blocks into the ground before but there are plenty they haven't.

      @@pseudoposse just curious, during actual play, how often if at all are u using the cheat menu / game settings / balance altering mods?

    • @sinkler123
      @sinkler123 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@pseudoposse I only use cheat mode to fix / recover from bugs, but i do heavily mess with game settings and add various mods, to a point where i`m no longer sure it is fair to say i play the same game as default vanilla 7d2d. :) but i play solo and make my own fun. Its really great we all have the options to fine tune the experience to our own taste.

      @@sinkler123 When actually playing, I don't like to use the cheat menu. An exception would be, especially if recording for YT, giving myself a helmet light mod if it takes too long to find one naturally so people can see what is going on.
      As for mods, I do like to play vanilla when an update comes out but then I do add mods for more variety and difficulty.

      Could be the support from the wall you are building off from is not fully supported. Or there is something that is incorrect in the way you are building. If you are at least using cobblestone, the structure should hold. Don't forget the pillar horizontal supports on the side.

    Ok so I am getting my ass handed to me, I have no clue what I am doing wrong. I even added push back turrets to my horde base and still get owned. I have those big guys that explode and then no more path and they end up beating the place where I am at. The structure end up breaking apart and then I am on the ground floor over flooded with Zs. Do you any build I can follow step by step in the making for noob like me, and maybe that would help new players also. Cheers !

      The final 45 block build is color coded. Purple is full cube block, pink is ramp 6m 03. Red is the half cube, blue was ramp 6m 02 but I swapped those out for half cubes as well. I have yellow pillar 0.05m shapes connecting from POI to the full cube.
      All the steps shown in the video apply to the final build. In the future, we can make it more noob friendly. Hope that helps!

    You don't need the wedge 'dropper' Just using half blocks for the entire thing will work just fine. As long as the part of the half block they stand on is occupied by any other half width block, you're fine. Shape doesn't matter. Never has. Here you go.
