Sledgehammers might have some of the best DMG potential, but stun batons will ALWAYS have the best crowd control capabilities.
I like these one-shots mixed into series. It's a nice change of pace.

Love all your videos! Just for fun, when using grenades, throw 2-3 at the crowd of zombies without pulling the pin and then throw another one with the pin pulled. The one exploding one will set off all the others. Very good at clearing and very fun to do haha

Hey Glock, if you painted it black, it could be that nightclub from Las Vegas. The Luxor.
Alternatively, you could've installed stairs and painted it like an Aztec pyramid.
Or just painted it like a classic Egyptian pyramid.

G9 playing King of the Hill, so it's King G9 now.
But you should double up on the blocks, 2 sets, back to back. Pillars on the outside, and scaffolding on the inside work good. And the railing works like scaffolding ladders except zombies can't climb them, and there is a corner piece of railing too, but the openings are smaller and you can't shoot through the "bar" sections of railing. Works good otherwise. And I think the base would have worked even better if the corners were full blocks that block cop line of sight. Still awesome episode!
Using regular bars like that was a single but critical mistake. That cop barrage in the beginning probably did 90% of all damage!
Perhaps lining them from the inside with scaffolds would work better?
I like to put a couple of turrets on the roof. Cool idea though to build a pyramid. I like the idea of building something like a ship or a pyramid, but that is seriously labor and resource intensive. I usually use ladders so I can reach loot bags, that's why I usually go with a tower and a staircase leading to a corridor with 4 electric posts, 2 x block and stab them next to my shotgun turret. That way I have help and a double layer ladder wall with a roof protects me from zombie attacks. It's worked through day 225 before the most recent update.
Hey Glock. I just wanted to say that I tried a pyramid base back in alpha 18ish and it worked great but mine was more Mayan/Aztec style with a solid vertical back and only three sides expanding outward. It removed 25% of the attack area which greatly helped, it was 40x40 so the height was much taller lending to more time to kill them and I had a friend to help repair while I killed. Not an easy solo base but for a group playthrough it worked fantastic... but a heavy resource build.
Fun idea and video! The cops are a nightmare to work around. Gotta make sure they don't have line-of-sight of you, but also gotta keep in mind that they're able to see through 1 layer of blocks, so they will spit at you even if you have a solid block between you and them.
I love making pyramid bases. Its fun fighting from multiple directions instead of the usual single direction corridors or raised catwalk type bases.
Glock9 should name this build "Pukekkake Pyramid."

I like my version of the pyramid base. It kinda looked like this but instead of using traps, I turned the pyramid into a cube using multiple layers of horizontal bars.
I'd start out by shooting down on the zombies while they try to carve a path up to me and only jump in the melee cage for when they finally do as a last resort.
It works out surprisingly well.
It may be a good idea to have some put hatches on the bottom layer to cover as many view spots as possible to reduce CP puke and flip them down for junkies or shooting angles
I know it won't cover all of it but reducing it as much as possible is still better then nothing at all
@@massivewaffle2424 Just use scaffolding instead of bars, it blocks the puke but u can melee and shot through it.
I have no idea why Glock used any bars in this pyramid.
The scaffolding has wider spacing and was only used at head height for the middle few blocks.
Played since 7.3 One thing that hasn't changed is X# of zombies per player per server instance. So say it's set to 8.
Then 8 will be the total zombie horde before any modifiers. If you kill one zombie you have 7 zombies, if you kill 2 you have 6, but everytime you kill a zombie it repawns to keep the cap per player... If you don't kill a zombie during horde night, less zombies will spawn. Simply make a base that can hold out for the night and save ammo.
This was legitimately the most suspenseful thing I've ever seen. I was convinced multiple times it was over. Eating bacon and eggs to outlive the bleedout, LOL. Good job G9.
His skill is so much better than mine, I would have died many times over. I just seem to end up trapped in some corner and my health just disappears so fast.

I once was a Twitch Mod for a woman, who played that game a lot. Since A17 always on Insane !!!
She build also a pyramid, I think it was A18 or 19, which actually worked very well.
The difference to yours was, that she used the "steeper" Blocks to build it. I don´t know, if these Blocks are still in the game. I am more a "Watcher" than a "Player" for the last years.
Anyway, with those steeper Blocks, the Zoms cannot reach you and you can easily shoot down at them while they are electrocuted at the bottom.
And by using some Doors in your Cage, you can even throw Molotovs and Grenades.

Just a thought. Instead of using Grenades use Pipe Bombs. They still do a heap of dam to the Zeds but do 0 structural damage. I find if I throw 2 unprimed then 1 primed it makes a big mess of the Zeds.
That was absolutely crazy. 😂 My crew and I are waiting for stable to dive into 1.0 and I'm stoked! I have a bunch of friends on console that I'm looking forward to playing with too. Thanks for the vid!
Gotta make pyramids with mostly the default 1x1x1 blocks. Every Z has to stop and jump up every single block. Slows them down A TON without any other gimmicks into it. Pyramids are resource intensive, but can keep up for a long time as long as you have ammo.
My favourite part was the "bacon and egg first aid"
The pyramid works better if they have to jump up every step! Slows down their 'build up.' I also had bars near the top levels so I could drop down inside a level or two to shoot out of the bars.
Fun video, amd congrats on making it through the night with that type of base.
Quick note: I know the FP says hordes last until morning, but it would be more precise to say hordes last until 4 AM. If you make the nights longer, ex: until 6AM, the horde still stops at 4:AM.
Ive just started this game and i suck! Such a cool base had no idea this was even possible. Maybe ill re load it later and try again. Nice video
I’m a console player and occasional PC player, I redesigned my console boxing ring base on V1.0 and with a few tweaks it works pretty good, only had problems on the first horde night (day 7) to figure out what needed to be tweaked. Survived up till then… I’ll be starting my day 49 hoard next, as I said I’m from console and old school, I don’t use trap spikes or electricity at all (I haven’t figured out how to use the electricity yet… And I don’t think I will very soon… but will one day most definitely will have to.

Great one off! Would suggest all bars be the scaffolding bars, and make a double layer of them. Otherwise though, good effort!
i actualy done pyramid base without spinning wheels and fences, it was more flat with some hanging over arrowslits to shoot from above it worked pretty good for any horde night, but i think main thing that helps is i had lots of spikes around so zombies sometimes change direction and they run from untouched spikes, also that would help alot having a sniper rifle like you do, you just dont want them to get close
Pseudo Posse made a 7 days video going over all the new blocks in 1.0 there are a few that block cop puke completely. Useful video for many of us to learn what to use making a good base.

You should issue a challenge to see if anyone can make a better pyramid base. The community had some amazing 3x3 and 2x2 bases! I would love tomsee what else they can come up with.

Should try this in a series, but just one side of the pyramid. A sort of ramp base. A reverse of Nightmare 2 where zombies go UP into the base defenses. Could even have multiple phases.
You can push the number keys to switch weapons, tools, etc. It's way faster than trying to scroll.

I'm glad they updated the aiming so it lines up better but I would like to see better sights for a couple guns and the ability to toggle cross hairs they just get in the way

There is a new block to use instead of the scafolding and/or railing block. It looks like a plus symbol + and is called the Pole 4 way. It protects you from cop puke AND you can use throwables through them. See Pseudo Posse for details. And next time add in 10~12 first aid bandages for backup.
You should do an episode where you test the limits of the "Simon" method. Basically, surround a janky made cobblestone pillar in hundreds of wood spikes. Then crank up the horde to day 100 and see how long you can live.
Try doubling-up your bars! Place a second set (reversed) on the outside of the bars you have already. Should help some.

A couple of thought for maybe trying this again in the future. You mentions using spikes. What if you made a mote 2-3 blocks wide and filled it with the spikes then they would move to the blade traps and so on. Also, what if instead of two junkies, you had used 4 SMG turrets, one in each corner, and keep a box with extra ammo so you can refill them as needed. Just my thoughts is all.
Taking them when needed is more exciting, but for the sake of new players, just save two to take at the start of the Blood Moon horde.

Maybe double triple it up on the bars maybe putting the actual battery banks in the center maybe putting steel around the post but like you said it didn't matter the whole electrical system collapse events because they were blowing up on them
Just a heads up you had 300+ points of healing after you took the first aid kit, it will continue to heal you for that value even if you continue to take damage, once you took the 2nd one now it will heal you for 500 so the first one was actually still in the process of healing you
Anytime you build yourself a cage style base similar to this you should put 2 sets of bars back to back around it.

That's what's called the Pharaoh building, either works and you're the king or it fails and it becames your tomb.
I made a pyramid base back before A20 similar to this. But the blocks I used wouldn't allows zombies to walk up them more than a couple blocks, they just slide down. Needed so much ammo
Yeah that was a great base design they unfortunately changed that so zombies are now mega mountain climbers 🧗 so it doesn’t work anymore that’s the fun pimps for you 🫠
I love the baton, but my only complaint is that they only have 2 tiers while everything else has 3......... giving sledgehammer a go in my new run of experimental.

Needs a central protected space to hide and some plates to block Z sightlines. Too bad Z's don't slide down slopes like they used to in some previous alpha's.

The last time I played that game I fend them off with just campfires inside of a dugout trench and a wall of cactuses. And I know what people down below would be thinking light lures more zombies yeah & a campfire can still burn you
