Yay! Yes, a Layer Cake will have plenty of fabric to make the tree part of this quilt! I'm using the Layer Cake for the blocks and then yardage for the Background and Fabric 2 (aka the "leaves" of the tree).
Thank you Hailey for your tutorial today. I also have a layer cake in holiday colors and I’m excited to use it. After watching your first tutorial I knew I wanted to follow your channel. Your instructions were easy to understand and follow your hand movements too. I purchased your full pattern. I’m excited about this journey together. 🌸🩷🩷🩷🌸
I'd love to have you join in! The videos will be up forever and the pattern will always be free so you can go at your own pace if you want - I know it's a busy time of year!
I love it! I haven't wanted to start any big quilting projects during this busy season but I have a fat quarter bundle that I'm dying to pop open and love these simple classic blocks so I'm hooked! Thanks!
I'll talk about it a bit more in the December 3rd video but the main benefits are that it offers additional sizes and layouts. The Christmas Tree layout we are doing comes in 2 additional sizes (9 1/2" blocks and 12 1/2" blocks). The 3 additional layouts are a wreath layout, traditional sashing/cornerstone layout and a sawtooth star layout. Each of those layouts has 3 quilt sizes using 6 1/2", 9 1/2" and 12 1/2" blocks. I'll talk about it more and share some graphics in the Dec 3rd video! It's completely optional to purchase but gives you a lot more choice when it comes to size & layout!
I'm excited to make this and will get my friendship star completed this evening. Pretty sure I've overlooked your fabric amounts for this quilt. I looked over the downloaded pattern yesterday and couldn't find it, and it doesn't seem to be on this video. I'm using Christmas colored scraps, but want my background to be consistent. Thanks.
Hi Denise! I updated the free pattern with the fabric requirements. In the daily emails you can access the updated pattern. For now, I'll share the fabric requirements here & put them in tomorrows video :) Background - 1 3/4 yards Fabric 1 (light green) - 3/8 yard Fabric 2 (dark green) - 1/4 yard Backing - 3 yards Binding - 1/2 yard

You had me at "layer cake" because I have a darling Christmas layer cake and it was screaming for a pattern!

I missed this before, haven’t even seen the video and I’m already excited. Thanks for the free pattern.
You're welcome! Hope you enjoy the pattern!
Thank you
The clearly slotted trimmer makes squaring the half-square triangles quick and accurate.
I've been meaning to try that one!
Yes! One of my favorite rulers :-)

Thank you Hailey ❤
Can’t wait to get started on this project 😊
Thank you so much! I’ve never done a QAL before, and I’ve been searching for the right pattern for a Christmas lap quilt.
This is a great QAL to start with! It'll be super low-key and you'll have a great lap size Christmas quilt finished before Christmas!
I was logged in under my other account. I’m using the Cozy Wonderland layer cake from Moda.
Beautiful fabrics & love the pattern! Thank you.
Thank you for your free patterns!

@@HaileyStitches, OK, I couldn't help myself...made the whole thing in two afternoons. ADORABLE! Thanks again for this very cute pattern!
@@nancynorman6221 Wow, nice job! Glad you liked it!
Love this pattern and idea. I would try to change the direction of the candy canes so they were directional. But that is me.
❤❤❤
So excited about this project!!! Such a cute pattern! I was hoping you would explain the benefits of purchasing the $7 pattern.
