Kudos for no music and pleasant clear, concise instructions, showing only the results of each lesson and not the tedious filming of each and every cut or stitch.
The Stripology Ruler is a game changer! Yes it's pricey, but it is totally worth it. My cutting is so much more accurate and faster. Love it!
I'm so happy to hear people have such good experience with it! Definitely makes it seem like the price is worth it!
I keep finding new uses for mine, so I think it’s worth the price. I have been using it to square up the corners of quilts lately, for example.
I used to think that and still use the ruler but it’s easier to cut yourself with it as you stabilize across a cutting line. Also I have placed my rotary cutter into the wrong line before and cut something wrong but I guess you could measure wrong with any ruler.
@@toothvetia I mark the lines with a “dash” of Washi tape now, and that has helped cut down on going into the wrong cutting line for me.
Yes
I would be happy to watch more layer cake and jelly roll videos. Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing
Edit: I watched this video on Sunday and on Monday afternoon I started the quilt. Used 1 yard for the sashing; 1 yard for the small squares and a narrow border; 2 yards for the big squares and a wider border. Finished the top on Tuesday night. Turned out lovely in just the three fabrics. Thanks again for the pattern.
My pleasure!
What size did the quilt come out to be ?
Great video. Thank you for the free pattern. I have quite a few Layer Cakes. This is a quilt for them. I have that same Omigrid ruler. I finally put little round grippers on the back. A good alternative for that ruler is Creative grids and Quilters Select. They do not move when cutting. Thanks again ❤🧵🪡
I want to upgrade to Creative Grids! The non-slip back seems so nice
I have a 12in Quilters Select ruler that is non-slip, but it is yellow-ish. It's kinda hard for me to see thru it. 😮 The Omni Grid is clear so I'll buy them next time.
I have been quilting for over thirty years. I can’t imagine not having the Stripology ruler! What it does for your quilting makes the price so worthwhile.
I think I may have to get me one now!
I wish I could remember to use mine. I purchased one about a year ago and still have yet to use it. Maybe I'll start when I decide to use this pattern. 😉
I love my Stripology Ruler!
Thanks for the pattern and tutorial. This pattern will display the designs on some of the layer cakes I have very nicely. Your voice is very soothing!
Thank you! And thank you for watching!
New subscriber here. Thanks for sharing this quilt. Look forward to more of your projects.

Oh I 100%encourage to get a stripology ruler it’s so worth it. I hardly use any other ruler anymore. You can do so much with that ruler
This has been added to my shopping list!
The stripology ruler, or the June Tailor ruler for cutting strips, makes cutting so much more accurate, and it's faster. I use a weight on the right side of the ruler due to its size.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing
Tanks for sending this cute pattern, now registres, full tanks to you
You are so welcome!
I Have the June Tailor version of the Stripology ruler, and I love love love it.
Another great easy quick pattern. I have several layer cakes that I don’t want to cut into tiny pieces. Cannot wait to use this pattern. Thank you Haley.

Love my stripology ruler. I bought the extra large size. I simply fold my fabric once from the factory fold and cut my strips! Great time saver and bottom of ruler adhers to fabric. I spend more time sewing and less cutting.
Love anything that can help me spend more time sewing!
Thank you so much for the free pattern, Hailey. This is going to be fun. Pat-South Padre Island, Texas
No problem! Happy sewing!

I'm sure the stripology ruler is fantastic...I bought the June Tailor slotted rulers many years ago and still love them, they don't have the gripper on the back but still get the job done.
Great to know! Thanks for sharing, Karla!
I love my stripology ruler!
I would like to see a "Skinny Strips" or "Honey Bun" quilt demo.
I have a Honey Bun in my fabric stash that is waiting to be used! Thanks for letting me know what you'd like to see!
Love the Stripology rulers. I have them all and will often use them all in one quilt. It squares off the left edge and cuts all the strips in one pass. And you can subcut all your pieces of background for his quilt with 3 cuts!
Interesting that use all of them. I’m I got the XL, but wondering about the others. I used the Square one and it’s very portable. How about the mini.
@@manuelashannon1369 The mini is great if you are making smaller blocks. Like 2” and 3”. I use the Squared one, the 12” one the most.
I love dove thread. I’d like to see a jelly roll pattern.
Dove is the best! Thanks for letting me know what precut pattern you’d like to see
Thank you so much for the free pattern.💞💞💞💞

Thanks so much 😊
Thank you for the pattern.
You’re welcome 😊
I have those strip pooch rulers can't recall the brand. Had them about 15 or 20 years. Love them. So perfect. 😉
I have a Stripology XL ruler that I use all the time. It is amazingly fast to cut strips. I occasionally use It to square up blocks, but mainly to cut strips. You can also cut strips of variable sizes at one time...ie four 2 1/2" strips and three 5" strips. Total must be less than or equal to 20" . Using the GE design little arrow markers is really helpful when cutting multiple sizes.
Honestly, you will be amazed at how fast you can cut lots of strips!
Wow okay I think I’m convinced to try one out! It sounds amazing!
I’d love to see fat quarter quilt tutorials
@@bridgettthomas2896 Thanks for letting me know!

Stripology ruler is great, Joann Fabric often has 40% or 50% off coupons & makes it a great price

Charm packs...❤
Love this quilt! Thank you, Hailey! I look forward to receiving the pattern!
Hope you like it!
Thanks for the weekend quilt. This is a simple to make. I just wanted to say, you do a great job showing the steps, however, I don't see you squaring up those edges. I'm sure you realize that a 10" sq from several fabric manufactures are NOT 10". yours was 10.125" and that is why your 5"sq wasn't 5" to match up to the strips you cut. Please know that I am not dishing you in any way, I am only hoping to make your next quilt experience better and easier. Texas says hello
Great tip! Thanks Carylanne!
Love the stripology ruler!! Highly recommend!!
Get the XL one. It is very helpful and time saving.
Thanks for sharing! I definitely think I’m going to get one
I have the Stripology rulers and I love the results. I can cut quickly and accurately using the rulers. They hold the fabric in place without the slippage I get with my other rulers. I don’t have to keep readjusting the cut line to keep it parallel.
Great to know about the ruler staying in place. I think it's time for me to get one!
Athe ruler you are talking about is wonderful
I have the stripology ruler and although many swear by it I usually just use same one you used. I will try it for this since there are many strips to cut and let you know if I like it any better.
Thank you for not taping your repetitive sewing; we get it. I’d like to see layer cakes made into HSTs.
Great idea!
THANK YOU!!!
No problem!!
Awesome tutorial!
Thank you! Thanks so much for watching, Celia

Yes to the stripology ruler! Speeds up your cutting. Be sure to watch the video tutorial for how to use it. It's very hrlpful.
Thanks for the tip!
This looks like a perfect beginner pattern. Thanks so much for sharing.
I do have a question I’ve been confused about. Do you starch your fabric before cutting? I’ve been having issues with wonky strips once I sew. I’ve been pre- washing fat quarters and yardage. Interested to hear what others do.
