- Tuesday morning was the moment Gentry Mikesell has been waiting for. After a month in the hospital, he was released and arrived at his Riverton home. "It's hard to believe that I’m here,” he said.

He’s been through a horrible accident that most would have perished. He may “look different” as he still recovers, but that’s superficial. What counts is what’s in his heart and soul. And Gentry will always be Gentry no matter what. I think he’s just lost some weight, but he’ll fill back out. I’m so happy he’s home, and I pray so hard for a complete and speedy recovery. Love the Mikesell family.

Gentry has touched so many people. Even prior to his accident if I needed a laugh or a smile I would watch his videos. It’s almost like watching a family member in this video. I thank god he is safe and so is everyone else

Airplane was stalled at 50', bad impact !
Hi, a buddy and I survived a plane crash almost a year to the day of your accident. Our crash was on August 17th 2019. We both sustained severe injuries that required life flights to two separate hospitals. God Bless your Family. I destroyed the ligaments in both ankles, I broke my left ankle, left tibia, left distal radius, my tailbone, my back (l3) my nose, 4 teeth and i also had bleeding on the brain. My buddy suffered broken ankles and severe skull featuring. Please tell Gentry that recover will be slow, I was told I wouldn’t run for at least two years if ever and I ran for the first time a year and 20 days after impact. I had 5 surgeries in 4 days!
I just had the pilot come speak to my church group and it was so amazing to hear this story told from so many different perspectives. God is real and he really does perform miracles. I’m so glad everyone is doing okay.

Was on Betsy’s instagram and it broke my heart to see Gentry looking almost unrecognizable. He was the light of their vlogs and really carried it on his back. Hope to see him 100% healed and better than ever as soon as possible. Its crazy how you never expect these things to happen to certain people, but they do. Freak accidents don’t discriminate.

According to a professional assessment the pilot made a number of errors. The major one was slowing the plane down on purpose so that it would reach stall speed (under 55 kias), which is never ever recommended. The plane becomes a falling object instead of gliding down to the ground with the appropriate air speed (70-80 kias). Stalling increases the force of the impact, as shown by the very short 10 foot skid mark left by the crash.
This is the strongest family I’ve ever seen. I really hope I meet them one day.💓

I'm glad you and your family are doing well. I have seen your story on different levels. As a pilot l took my daughter on a flight, Tomahawk, 2410t we had the greatest of time. That was 1993 -94. By 1997 October l put my daughter in the ground, car- train accident. Back then there was no you tube, the world did not care. You are truly blessed , with your you tube followers. I cry alone. Again, glad everyone is ok.
