Great video. Just what I need for my 2019 450 EXC F Six Days - love the graphics in this year. Now I just gotta figure out the spring & shims-stack set up for my fat ass 😅
if you doing a complete rebuild like that wouldn't it be easier to use a graduate cylinder or some accurate measuring device to put to correct volume of oil in and not have to remove the overage amount. but then again if you already have a oil level device it not a whole lot more to remove it. great video.
Hey Randy, I think you overfill it so when you're cycling the rod and releasing the air bubblesin the fork tube, there is more oil in the system to lesson the chance of trapping bubbles in the system. then just suck out the rest, you suck out a fair amount. That's my understanding anyways.
@@ENDUROEVOLUTIONIf you are sure the forks have absolutely no oil in them, like right after you have replaced seals and bushings, then measuring the correct amount of oil is more accurate than measuring the headspace. If you do have some air trapped in the damper, that will eventually come out later when you use the forks, and your oil level will end up being too low. Measuring head space is a second-best approach when you are unsure how much oil is in there.
Is the oil supposed to submerge the central rod, even with the clickers long pipe? On all other videos, they take great care not to spill any of the 600 - 625ml oil measure inside that pipe - bleed air - then insert clicker tubing. Any huge difference? I mean, is this because of the modifications?
Wow. Such a good video with so much detail in it. I'm going to assume that you got your shim stack specs from race tech that suits your weight and riding?
Hey thanks for the support bro, I'm new to filming so I wasn't sure how they were going to turn out haha You bet, when you get your gold valves you go to the Race Tech website and type in your DVS # then age skill and weight and they give you a print out with the correct shims you need, then just measure twice.
@@ENDUROEVOLUTION your welcome bud. From someone that has been doing videos for some years you nailed these suspension video like a pro. 👍 And copy that on the info to get your setup info. 👌
Wow excellent video a friend of mine has done a lot of suspension and will be doing the gold valve conversion on my husky soon can't wait to ride it. Very informative video makes me want to do the job myself
1:15 Grip the plastic 4 star shaft softly with multi grips in between 2 coils and cork screw the spring down away from the 24mm nut.

My favorite too! Haha I'm glad you liked the video! When you buy the gold valve kits they tell you everything you need to know 🤘
Top-Quality workmanship and excellent editing, very well done and professional!
Thanks Jeff! A lot of time goes into them, as you probably know!
Dude! SO helpful! Thank you for posting!
Bro.. no worries, I'm happy it helped 🍺🤘
I appreciate the video, but next time turn down the gain on your music or at least equalize it with your narration.
Hey thanks for letting me know! Ill try and get it dialed in on the future videos.
🍻 i appreciate the advice.
Great video, do you know which is the part of racetech to do this, my suspension it's the same but without the spring preload.
Thanks
Hey, thank you! are you looking for the part number? If you let me know the year of your bike I can help you find out which kit you need.
Are you using new base valves that give you Compressin and Rebound on both forks?
Hey slim, you bet, both forks have rebound on top and compression on bottom now.
